This Bullpup Doublet Mystery features Carl V. Steiger, Charleston's own Private Eye. In Book One he is a US Coast Guardsman and a Gunner's Mate charged with training local national military personnel in drug interdictions on the Orinoco River. In Book Two, Steiger retires from service and buys a gun shop. Bored, he files for and receives his Private investigator's license.
