Col. George Rogers Clark's Campaign in the Illinois

In 1778, George Rogers Clark, at the age of twenty five, led a secret campaign into the Ohio Valley, which reduced the British posts between the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. This campaign had far reaching effects, extending the western most boundary ceded by the British in 1782 to the Mississippi, laying a clear path for future purchases to unite the east and west coasts.
