In his efforts to understand Dostoevsky's message for manking, the hero decides to live the distorted lives of the major Russian characters. His efforts to live as Raskolnikov, the Idiot, Stavrogin and Dmitry Karamazov lead him into the depths of corruption and perversion. The Tragedy a L'Amerique shows the complexity of the human mind involved in bi-sexual love. The Vignettes from life are from the author's experiences.
