Eclecticism in Late Medieval Visual Culture at the Crossroads of the Latin, Greek, and Slavic Traditions

This volume explores the eclectic artistic landscapes of Eastern Europe between the 14th and 17th centuries. The essays challenge the temporal and geographic parameters of the study of medieval and Byzantine art, and put forth new methodological and theoretical frameworks for the study of the visual culture of the Balkan Peninsula and the Carpathian Mountains that developed at the crossroads of the Latin, Greek, and Slavic traditions.
