Fort Supply, Indian Territory

Westward expansion after the American Civil War was temporarily checked by the fierce resistance of the Indian communities. To counter this Fort Supply was established in 1868 in northwest Indian Territory and this is an account, based on army records, of the day-to-day life at a frontier outpost.
