Freckle Cream

Two best friends tackle the problem of one face full of freckles. Maura and Arline have no money, but plenty of ingenuity! This fun children's book follows their antics as they scheme, scheme, and scheme some more to get their hands on some Freckle Cream. The girls live in a housing project in the 1950s and '60s. After one of the girls sees an ad for vanishing cream in a magazine, their planning begins. How can they find ways to earn the money for the cream? And if they do get the cream, will it work on Maura's stubborn freckles? Follow these two friends as they purchase the freckle cream and then test it on Maura's face.

Kramer Greenfield is a medical technician in Nashua, New Hampshire. She remembers growing up in the housing projects and how she used to alleviate the boredom by playing with her best friend. Her previous books are The Blessings and Sorrows of Schlumel the Angel and One Duck Missing.
