Der Einfluss der Fußgeometrie auf die Energieeffizienz beim zweibeinigen Gehen wird untersucht. Es wird eine Methode zur Optimierung der Fußgeometrie für einen zweibeinigen Roboter entwickelt. Grundlage ist ein ebenes Modell mit beliebieger, konvexer Fußgeometrie in Kombination mit einer Regelung auf Basis der hybriden Nulldynamik. Es werden optimale Bewegungen und Fußgeometrien ermittelt. Im Vergleich zu einem Modell mit Punktfüßen ergeben sich Energieeinsparungen von über 80%. The influence of foot geometry on energy efficiency in bipedal walking is investigated. A method for the optimization of the foot geometry of a bipedal robot is developed. It is based on a planar model with arbitrary convex foot geometry in combination with a hybrid zero dynamics based controller. Optimal gaits and foot geometries are determined. The average energy consumption can be reduced by more than 80% compared to a model with point feet.

In this work, the deposition of ZIF-8 surface-anchored metal-organic framework (SURMOF) films was systematically studied. A proper characterization and optimization of the synthesized films was performed and their separation performance was determined. Furthermore, a general description of the system was achieved using the Maxwell-Stefan surface diffusion model.

Diese Arbeit stellt ein Verfahren vor, bei dem mittels empirischen mikroskopischen Verkehrsdaten das Gefährdungspotenzial an einem Stauende ermittelt und klassifiziert wird. To this day, the sudden emergence of the structures of congested traffic poses a great danger to drivers and vehicles: This is especially true when driving into the end of a traffic jam. One way to reduce the danger is the timely and precise warning of the end of a traffic jam. This paper presents a method to determine and classify the hazard potential at the end of a traffic jam by means of empirical microscopic traffic data.

Schrägscheiben Axialkolbenpumpen werden in diversen mobilen sowie stationären Anwendungen zur Leistungsübertragung eingesetzt. Eine Optimierung dieses Verdrängerprinzips kann durch die aktive Beeinflussung der Schmierspaltausprägung in tribologischen Kontaktstellen erzielt werden. Anhand der beschriebenen kennfeldbasierten Druckregelung von Druckreservoirs, anhand derer betriebspunktspezifisch der Entlastungsgrad der einzelnen betrachteten Kontaktflächen ausgeregelt werden kann. An optimization of this displacement principle can be achieved by the active influence of the hydrostatic relief in tribological contacts. The approach addressed in this work is a characteristic field-based pressure control of pressure reservoirs, which can be used to adjust the degree of relief of the individual contact surfaces according to the operating point.

Der hybride Aufbau der in dieser Arbeit charakterisierten Sandwichverbunde bewirkt besondere mechanische und materialographische Eigenschaften, die in analytischen Modellen wie z.B. der massespezifischen Biegesteifigkeit, Failure Mode Maps, und der dynamischen Impactkräfte quantifiziert werden. Ein Rückschluss auf den Aufbau der Sandwichverbunde zeigt einen maßgeblichen Einfluss der Deckschicht auf die Biegesteifigkeit, sowie des Sandwichkerns auf die Dichte und das Verformungsverhalten. The hybrid structure of the sandwich composites characterised within this work induces particular mechanic and materialographic properties, which are quantified in analytical models, such as the mass specific bending stiffness, failure mode maps, and the dynamic impact forces. Ascribed to the sandwich build-up, the face sheets show a significant influence on the bending stiffness, whereas the core structure influences the density and deformation behaviour.

Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden monolithisch integrierte Millimeterwellenverstärker für den Einsatz in aktiven und passiven bildgebenden Systemen im Frequenzbereich der atmosphärischen Fenster bei 94 GHz, 140 GHz und 220 GHz entwickelt.Ziel ist eine umfassende Untersuchung geeigneter Schaltungskonzepte sowie der erfolgreiche Aufbau der koplanaren Sende- und Empfangsschaltkreise innerhalb von Millimeterwellenmodulen in Hohlleitertechnik.

The international conference "Group Decision and Negotiation (GDN) 2006" aims at bringing together researchers in the areas of Group Decisions, Negotiations, and Negotiation Support Systems. Diese Arbeit behandelt den Prozess der Photonen-Hochkonversion in oberflächengebundenen metal-organischen Gerüsten. Bei der Hochkonversion werden zwei niederenergetische Photonen absorbiert und zu einem höherenergetischen Photon verschmolzen, welches emitiert wird. In dieser Arbeit wird dieser Vorgang in oberflächengebundenen metal-organischen Gerüsten mittels spektroskopischer Methoden analysiert. Weiterhin wird die Anwendung für die Effizienzsteigerung von Solarzellen diskutiert. This work deals with the process of photon upconversion in surface-anchored metal-organic frameworks. During the upconversion, two low-energy photons are absorbed and fused into a higher-energy photon, which is emitted. In this work, this process is analyzed in surface-bound metal-organic frameworks by spectroscopic methods. Furthermore, the application for increasing the efficiency of solar cells is discussed.

Die Fertigungsgenauigkeit im Karosseriebauprozess wird untersucht, wobei der gängige Abbildungsumfang der Toleranzsimulation prinzipiell bestätigt wird. Ein Vorhersagemodell und ein Visualisierungstool ermöglichen eine wirtschaftliche und präzise Abbildung von Pressteilstreuungen. In der Geo-Station kann es zur plastischen Verformung der Fügepartner kommen, welche den praktischen Nutzen der elastischen Simulation in Frage stellt. Eine wirtschaftliche Methodik zur Simulation wird vorgestellt. The dimensional accuracy in the body-in-white manufacturing process is analysed, basically confirming the simulation scope already in use. An enhanced prediction approach and a visualisation tool enable a precise and cost-efficient mapping of stamped parts deviation. As a result of joining operations parts can be deformed plastically, questioning the practical use of elastic tolerance simulation. A modified approach is presented based on the rigid body tolerance simulation.

Ink-jet printed devices on the flexible substrate are inexpensive and large area compatible as compared to rigid substrates. However, during fabrication and service they are subjected to complex strains, resulting in crack formation or delamination within the layers, affecting the device performance. Therefore, it is necessary to understand their failure mechanisms by correlating their electrical or structural properties with applied strain, supported by detailed microstructural investigations.

Abbildende Verfahren wie die Röntgenmikroskopie werden in der zerstörungsfreien Werkstoffanalyse eingesetzt, um Auflösungen im Submikrometerbereich zu erreichen. Dort werden abbildende Optiken benötigt, wofür Röntgenlinsen für Photonenenergien oberhalb von 10 keV besonders gut geeignet sind. Damit solche Linsen universell mit konstanten optischen Eigenschaften über einen breiten Photonenenergiebereich einsetzbar sind, wurde in dieser Arbeit erstmalig eine Röntgenzoomlinse entwickelt. Imaging methods such as X-ray microscopy are used in non-destructive material analysis to achieve resolutions in the sub micrometer range. Imaging optics are required, for which X-ray lenses are particularly suitable for photon energies above 10 keV. To ensure the universal use of these lenses with constant optical properties over a wide photon energy range, for the first time an X-ray zoom lens was developed in this work.

This works describes an approach to lane-precise localization on current digital maps. A particle filter fuses data from production vehicle sensors, such as GPS, radar, and camera. Performance evaluations on more than 200 km of data show that the proposed algorithm can reliably determine the current lane. Furthermore, a possible architecture for an intuitive route guidance system based on Augmented Reality is proposed together with a lane-change recommendation for unclear situations.

Among the various elements of the silicon photonics platform, electro-optic IQ modulators play an important role. In this book, silicon-organic hybrid (SOH) integration is used to realize electro-optic IQ modulators for complex signal processing. Leveraging the high nonlinearity of organic materials, SOH IQ modulators provide low energy consumption for high-speed data transmission and frequency shifting. Furthermore, the device design is adapted for commercial foundry processes.

To counter lubricant shortage at a frictional contact (starvation), lubrication liquids, e.g. oils, are actively transported from a distant location towards the undersupplied tribocontact. This is done via small channels or generally via structures cut into a flat surface. In this way one can use capillary force as a cheap and reliable driver of the lubricant flow. Numerical modeling and experiments show that this method can be considered a promising new option to enhance tribocontact operation.

The focus of this work lies on the microstructure-based modeling and characterization of a discontinuous fiber-reinforced thermoset in the form of sheet molding compound (SMC). A microstructure-based parameter identification scheme for SMC with an inhomogeneous fiber orientation distribution is introduced. Different cruciform specimen designs, including two concepts to reinforce the specimens' arms are evaluated. Additionally, a micromechanical mean-field damage model for the SMC is introduced.

In dieser Arbeit wird der Einfluss der beim Drapieren auf das Gewebe wirkenden Normalkraft bei verschiedenen Temperaturen auf das Scher-verhalten untersucht. Hierzu wird eine erweiterte Prüfmethode auf der Basis des Picture Frame Tests entwickelt und dessen Eignung nachgewiesen. Die Normalkraft und die mit der Variation der Temperaturen sich ändernde visko-elastische Reibung des mit Binder versehenen Gewebes zeigen einen signifikanten Anstieg des Scherwiderstandes. In this work the influence of normal force on the shear behavior of carbon fiber fabric during the draping process at different temperatures is investigated. For this purpose an extended test method based on the picture frame test is developed and its suitability tested. The normal force and the visco-elastic friction of the binder particles applied to the fabric show a significant increase in shear resistance.

Automatische optische Inspektion spielt in industriellen Fertigungsprozessen eine wichtige Rolle. Die Entwicklung und Konfiguration solcher Systeme ist jedoch sehr aufwendig. Mit maschinellen Lernverfahren kann beides erheblich vereinfacht und beschleunigt werden. In dieser Arbeit werden verschiedene lernende Verfahren für die optische Inspektion entwickelt. Diese Verfahre ergänzen sich gegenseitig und sind für eine breite Produktpalette einsetzbar. Automated visual inspection is an integral part in industrial manufacturing processes, but development and setup of such systems is very costly. Machine learning significantly reduces the effort of and speeds up both tasks. This work develops several machine learning methods suitable for automated visual inspection. The methods augment each other and can be used for a wide range of products.

Das F+E-Vorhaben INOVUM des Ministeriums für Umwelt, Klima und Energiewirtschaft Baden-Württemberg setzt auf eine breite Kooperation mit Partnern aus Verwaltung, Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft zum gemeinsamen Ausbau der behördlichen Umweltinformationssysteme. Schwerpunkte der Projektphase INOVUM II waren u.a. Aspekte der Digitalisierungsstrategie des Landes Baden-Württemberg, Weiterentwicklung servicebasierter Umweltportale, mobile Anwendungen, Big-Data-Technologie und Aufbau eines Sensornetzwerks. The R & D project INOVUM of the Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Energy Baden-Württemberg relies on a wide cooperation with partners from government, science and industry to jointly develop governmental environmental information systems. In the focus of the project phase INOVUM II were, e.g. aspects of the digitalisation strategy of Baden-Württemberg, enhancements of service-based environmental portals, mobile applications, big data technologies and the design of a sensor network.

Die vorliegende Arbeit zeigt Möglichkeiten auf, um aus Fahrzeugdatenaufzeichnungen zum Nutzerverhalten Anforderungen an Fahrzeugkonzepte abzuleiten. Der Schwerpunkt liegt in der Herleitung von Mobilitäts- und Fahrprofilen, die der anschließenden rechnergestützten Ermittlung des Kraftstoffverbrauchs dienen. Darauf aufbauend wird die Einbindung der ermittelten Kraftstoffverbrauchswerte in die Erstellung von Ökobilanzen und Gesamtkostenberechnungen zur Bewertung von Fahrzeugkonzepten erörtert. The book at hand shows possibilities to derive requirements from customers' usage behaviour based on recorded vehicle data. The focus lies on the derivation of mobility and driving profiles for a computer aided calculation of the fuel consumption. On this basis, the calculated fuel consumption is integrated into the creation of life cycle assessments and total cost of ownership calculations in order to evaluate vehicle concepts.

A nonparametric identification method for highly nonlinear systems is presented that is able to reconstruct the underlying nonlinearities without a priori knowledge of the describing nonlinear functions. The approach is based on nonlinear Kalman Filter algorithms using the well-known state augmentation technique that turns the filter into a dual state and parameter estimator, of which an extension towards nonparametric identification is proposed in the present work.

In dieser Arbei wird ein neuer Ansatz für ein Hagelschadenmodell zur Quantifizierung des Hagelrisikos für Gebäudeschäden mit hohen Wiederkehrperioden vorgestellt. Basierend auf Analysen von 3D Radardaten im Zeitraum von 2005 bis 2015 entsteht ein stochastisches Zugbahnenmodell zur Gefährdungsmodellierung. Eine ausführliche Vulnerabilitätsanalyse verbindet die Gefährdung durch Hagelzüge und die Vulnerabilität von Gebäuden gegenüber Hagel zum Hagelrisiko. This work presents a new approach for a hail loss model to quantify the hail risk on residual buildings for high return periods. Based on the analysis of 3D radar data from 2005 to 2015 a stochastic hail track model is developed to sample a random number of stochastic hail tracks. A detailed vulnerability analysis combines the hazard from the hail tracks and the vulnerability of buildings towards hail and leads to the hail risk for a certain portfolio.

The focus of this work is a generic, intraoperative and image-free planning and execution application for arbitrary orthopedic interventions using a novel handheld robotic device and optical see-through glasses (AR). This medical CAD application enables the surgeon to intraoperatively plan the intervention directly on the patient's bone. The glasses and all the other instruments are accurately calibrated using new techniques. Several interventions show the effectiveness of this approach.

The energy transition not only has an impact on technical infrastructures but also leads to socio-economic changes. To evaluate the sustainability aspects of the German Energiewende, the authors have developed a monitoring system which includes 45 indicators and their corresponding target values for 2020, 2030, and 2050 as well as a rating system for the year 2020 based on a distance-to-target approach and traffic color lights.

In dieser Arbeit erfolgte die Herstellung von AlSi12-basierten Verbunden mit Verstärkungselementen aus metallischen Glas Ni60Nb20Ta20 mit Hilfe des schmelzmetallurgischen Verfahrens der Gasdruckinfiltration. Es wurden Untersuchungen zur Ermittlung der mikrostrukturellen, mechanischen und thermischen Eigenschaften sowie der Schädigungsmechanismen durchgeführt. Die erzielten Ergebnisse tragen zu einem verbesserten Verständnis der Prozess-Gefüge-Eigenschafts-Beziehungen dieser Materialklasse bei. AlSi12-based metal matrix composites using metallic glass Ni60Nb20Ta20 as reinforcement were produced via gas pressure melt infiltration technique. Comprehensive investigations were performed to determine the composite¿s microstructural, mechanical and thermal properties as well as damage mechanisms. The results contribute to a better understanding on the material¿s processing-structure-property relations.

In der Festschrift zur 150-Jahr-Feier des Geodätischen Instituts Karlsruhe (GIK) wird eine historische Übersicht über die Entwicklung des GIK gegeben. Aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse werden präsentiert sowie Innovationen aufgezeigt. The commemorative publication of the 150-year anniversary of the foundation of the Geodetic Institute Karlsruhe (GIK) presents the historical overview of the development of the GIK. Current research results are presented and innovations are shown.

This work developed an automatic approach for the assessment of software reliability which is both theoretical sound and practical. The developed approach extends and combines theoretical sound approaches in a novel manner to systematically reduce the overhead of reliability assessment.
