The aim of this book is to propose a decision support tool for contractors before the execution stage to quantify the probability of risks in water supply system projects by using fuzzy logic incorporated with relative importance index (RII) method. Fifty one (51) different risk factors were identified through detailed literature review and interview with experts, and then categorized into seven (7) groups. The relative importance of risk factors were quantified by relative importance index (RII) method and the ranking of the factors and groups were demonstrated according to their importance level of risk. A probabilistic risk assessment model was proposed by using Fuzzy Theory in order to determine a realistic time contingency by taking into account of risk factors characterized in water supply projects. The assessment model was developed by using Fuzzy Logic Toolbox of the MATLAB Program Software.

Curve fitting is the process of constructing a curve that has the best fit to a series of data points, possibly subject to constraints. Curve fitting can involve either interpolation, where an exact fit to the data is required, or smoothing, in which a "smooth" function is constructed that approximately fits the data. Fitted curves can be used as an aid for data visualization, to infer values of a function where no data are available, and to summarize the relationships among two or more variables. Extrapolation refers to the use of a fitted curve beyond the range of the observed data, and is subject to a degree of uncertainty since it may reflect the method used to construct the curve as much as it reflects the observed data. This book is devoted on the qualitative theory of quantum curve fittings. The book is intended for senior undergraduate students and beginning graduate students of engineering and science courses. There are four chapters in this book. The chapters in the book are pedagogically organized. Each chapter concludes with a section with practical problems.

As implant dentistry is progressing rapidly, the implants with small diameters are one of the major advancements in dental history; they can be used successfully in a variety of clinical situations. Researches continue to demonstrate the surgical and prosthodontic success of those implants. They offer patients satisfaction due to less surgical time, less postoperative pain and ability of direct loading after surgery with no harm to bone. Also they are more cost effective option, since they can support a denture with a reduced cost. It must be emphasized that the reduced surface implants require correct treatment planning so that the loading force would not cause bone loss or implant failure. Nevertheless, MDI showed high survival rates, but special cautions of bone quality and good oral hygiene should be maintained. The MDI-supported removable prostheses successfully improved patients¿ chewing and speaking ability, quality of life, and satisfaction, suggesting that MDIs are a viable and safe option to support removable prostheses in the mandibular arch.

Beta-Galactosidase, commonly named lactase, is one of the most important enzymes used in dairy processing; it catalyzes the hydrolysis of lactose to its constituent monosaccharides glucose and galactose. The enzyme was purified from the crude enzyme using ammonium sulfate precipitation, dialysis, ion exchange chromatography using DEAE cellulose, ion-exchange chromatography and gel filtration chromatography. Molecular mass of ¿-galactosidase as estimated by sodium dodecyl sulfate- PAGE gel with a molecular mass of approximately 45 kDa to 55kDa. The optimum temperature, and pH for this beta-galactosidase activity were 40°C and pH 8.0, respectively. The results suggest that this enzyme may be suitable for both the hydrolysis of lactose and the production of galacto-oligosaccharides in milk processing.

Ingestion of food contaminated by L. monocytogenes is the main route of transmission of the pathogen to humans. Ubiquitous in nature, L. monocytogenes can contaminate foods from a wide variety of environmental reservoirs during food processing, distribution, and storage, making this opportunistic pathogen extremely difficult to control and manage in the food industry. Indeed, L. monocytogenes has been isolated from various food products, with most cases of foodborne listeriosis being linked to ready-to-eat products that would have been contaminated during and after processing. This highlights the importance of monitoring the environment of food processing plants, identifying potential sources of contamination and possible transmission routes in the food production chain, particularly with regard to persistent strains of L. monocytogenes. The presence of persistent strains could result from a deficiency in cleaning and disinfection procedures, which allow the survival and adaptation of L. monocytogenes strains.

Heavy metal pollutants are being released in rivers, soils, and the atmosphere, due to developing agribusiness and metallurgy industries, as well as fertilizers, and pesticides. They are non-biodegradable and can accumulate in living systems, contaminating the food chain. Physical and chemical heavy metal cleanup solutions are expensive and harmful to the surrounding ecology. Due to the proven capacity of microbes, especially bacteria, to sequester and convert pollutants, microbial bioremediation has emerged as a viable technique for reducing heavy metals in the environment. Microbes have developed several bioremediation techniques. These processes are distinct in their requirements, and benefits, and their effectiveness is determined by the type of microbe and toxins involved. Microbes can be widely used to produce nanoparticles due to their ease of handling and processing, the need for low-cost medium, simple scaling up, and economic feasibility with the capacity to adsorb and reduce metal ions into nanoparticles via metabolic processes. The use of renewable resources for metal reduction and nanoparticle biosynthesis provides a clean, non-toxic, and sustainable technique.

Radars have long been used for detecting objects far away and mapping them on a display. With a number of military and arial applications radars are widely used these days. This advanced Arduino sonar system can be used to monitor local patch area and can also scan suspicious object. With the help of this sonar radar project we can prevent the enemies from reaching near a target and thus many lives can be saved. We here propose to demonstrate this concept using Arduino based radar project. This Arduino sonar project system continuously scans the area and gives a beep sound on detecting an object, simultaneously, the radar provides the angle as well as distance of the object from the source. It makes use of an ultrasonic wave to simulate sonar or radar sweep. It is mounted on a motor to create sweep angles and rotate the sensor. The input thus obtained is sent to a screen display to show it in form of a graphical radar blip. Our system helps in tracking the exact position and traces the path followed by the object.

The main objective of the present study is to design the water distribution network (WDN) by using EPANET software in the view of future demand of the people present in Ramnaresh nagar, Hyderabad. In order to design the WDN, population forecasting is carried out for three decades which is of 23368 by using Geometrical incremental method. The network consists of number of connections 500, total length of pipe in the network 3.22 km and reservoir capacity 50 mgd., number of junctions are 48, the pipe material is of ductile iron with roughness coefficient 120. The maximum flow rate in the network is of 13.22 lps at first hour and minimum of 0.11 lps. More over the excess water delivered during non peak hour can be stored in the sump and can be used during peak hours time. The main problem in this network is presence of dead end pipes which in turn leads to stagnation of the water and thereby reducing the velocity and pressure. The present study also comparing values of hydraulic parameters of EPANET software with manual calculated values haves got nearly same.

Despite the impression of a divergence of themes ¿ which is not incorrect in so far as thematic differences do in fact occur here ¿ the articles collected here are united under a common, overarching topic, namely, the current, sustained attempt on the part of a group of technocratic neo-fascists (mainly at the United Nations, the World Economic Forum and the World Health Organisation), to engineer a transition to a totalitarian world government under which citizens would be controlled mainly by AI. As readers will notice, themes range from a clash between modes of communication and miscommunication during the so-called ¿pandemic¿, through reflections on possible therapeutic approaches during this time, and attempting to comprehend the severity with which humanity has been reduced to ¿bare life¿ by means of all manner of dictatorial decrees during the ¿pandemic¿ Attention is also given to the scandalous way in which philosophers have failed humanity in the face of the monstrous crime being committed against the people of the world, as well as to questions concerning 'truth-speaking' at a time of unmitigated, pervasive lying in the mainstream media.

This paper is going to analyse how the economic context has an important influence on lowering the number of open positions available on the workforce market along with the reorganization process that many companies had to deal with. The purpose of this study is to show how the selection process of managers for the railway transport companies may be improved by using a multi-criteria decision-making model. The novelty of this paper is that, this model was created, developed and implemented for the first time in a Romanian company for managers¿ evaluation process. It is important to mention that the model which will be developed is dedicated for facilitating the selection of managers for large companies. The model was successfully implemented and validated in a public company using a parallel between a classic method for evaluating the personnel, namely the merit order ranking system and our method.
