Drug repurposing and repositioning is a process of identifying new therapeutic use (s) for the available and existing older drugs. Therapeutically, this has become a popular and effective strategy in recent years, in discovering or developing drug molecules with new pharmacological action and therapeutic indications. The drug repurposing strategy is efficient, economical and less time consuming and is thought to be an effective alternative approach to traditional drug discovery process. With the discovery of novel biological targets, the drug repositioning would maximize the success rate of therapy. Drug based vector control is a new strategy that involved administration of an oral insecticidal drug to a human population at risk to kill the insect vector on blood feeding, thereby reducing the vector population and preventing disease transmission. Isoxazolines category of veterinary drugs viz: fluralaner and afoxolaner have been repurposed for control of vector-borne human diseases like malaria and Zika fever. Veterinary antiparasitic drugs of benzimidazole carbamates and halogenated salicylanilides were repurposed and ¿double repositioned¿ for human cancers.

Allergies are nowadays diseases affect more than 30 % of the population in western countries. They are caused by inhalation, ingestion or contact with allergens, antigens responsible for the inducing synthesis of specific immuglobulin E (IgE) that mediate allergic reactions under determine conditions.In the case of food allergies, the current incidence is estimated about 3 % in the adult population and 6-8 % in the pediatric. Food allergens are mostly soluble proteins with a molecular weight of between 10-70 kDa. Allergy to nuts is one of the most common food allergies, the tree nuts are among the most allergic foods world wide, and therefore from hazelnut, walnut, cashew, peanut, chestnut and Brazil nut have been identified. The characterization of nut allergens, has revealed that the majority belong to storage protein families such as vicilins (7S globulins composed of subunits of about 50 kDa), legumins (11-13S globulins composed of subunits acid peptide of 30-40 kDa and 15-20 kDa basic) and 2S albumin (15 kDa).

Pneumothorax (pneumothorax: Greek pneuma air + th¿rax chest, chest) is the accumulation of air in the pleural cavity due to disruption of the integrity of the visceral, parietal or mediastinal pleura. When enough air accumulates in the pleural cavity, the lung parenchyma collapses and loses its respiratory function. Based on etiology, pneumothorax is classified into traumatic, spontaneous, diagnostic and therapeutic. When a pulmonary abscess breaks into the pleural cavity or the esophagus ruptures with the development of mediastenitis, pyopneumothorax occurs, i.e., accumulation of pus and air in the pleural cavity. Basically, with an open or closed injury to the chest with damage to the lungs, hemopneumothorax develops, i.e., accumulation of air and blood in the pleural cavity. In the case of accumulation of serous exudate in the pleural cavity along with air, hydropneumothorax is spoken of.

The Constitution of India did not define STs as such. Article 366(25) refers to STs as those communities who are scheduled in accordance with Article 342 of the Constitution. According to Article 342 of the Constitution, the STs are the tribes or tribal communities or part of or groups within these tribes and tribal communities which have been declared as such by the President through a public notification. In summary, a series of diversely functionalized 40 imidazopyrazoles and bridgehead imidazopyrazoles have been synthesized via versatile straightforward synthetic routes. Our work is introduced in four parts. Part I includes synthesies of imidazopyrazole thione and its neculophilic substitution. Part II is about addition, condensation reactions and formation of hydrazienyl derivatives. Part III is about chalcone formation and its cyclization. Part IV is about assessment of anti-diabetic activity of newely synthesised. All compounds were characterized by IR, 1 HNMR, 13CNMR, and mass spectra as well as elemental analyses. Based on the screening results, almost all the synthesized compounds exhibited significant biological efficiency. It can be concluded that we have synthesised forty compounds. These compounds contain mainly moiety of imidazopyrzole; moreover, sixteen of these compounds were examined for anti-diabetic activity as compared to standard drug.

Periodontitis is characterized by the inflammation of periodontal tissues leading to the loss of support for affected teeth, necessitates not only the elimination of the inflammatory process but also the regeneration of lost periodontal attachment and bone. Platelet concentrates, specifically Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF), play a pivotal role in this endeavor. Platelet concentrates, such as PRP and PRF, are prepared through specific centrifugation techniques. PRF, particularly appreciated for its biocompatibility and slow release of growth factors, has shown promise in sustaining tissue healing. These concentrates find wide applications in periodontology, including soft tissue grafting, periodontal surgery, implantology, and Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR).

Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid. incitant of dry root rot disease in mungbean is the most devastating disease in all the mungbean growing districts of Rajasthan particularly in Bikaner, Jaipur, Bhilwara, Bharatpur, Sri Ganganagar, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur. Ten isolates of Macrophomina phaseolina tested for their pathogenic nature, using susceptible RMG-62 variety of mungbean were found virulent in sterilized as well as unsterilized soil. The dry root rot incidence (%) in sterilized soil and unsterilized soil varied from 33.33 to 100 and 26.67 to 83.33, respectively. Isolate Bikaner was most virulent followed by Churu, Hisar, Sri Ganganagar, Junagarh-6486, IARI-5156, Sawaimadhopur, Delhi, Jalana-5156 and Narnaul. Bikaner isolate showed 83.33 per cent disease incidence in unsterilized soil which was less than sterilized soil i.e 100 per cent. In general the mortality of plant in unsterilized soil was reduced over sterilized soil.

Grid computing technology can be seen as a positive alternative for implementing high-performance distributed computing. The goal of Grid computing is to create the illusion of virtual computer out of a large collection of connected heterogeneous nodes sharing various resources. The Grid system needs competent load balancing algorithms for the distribution of tasks in order to increase performance and efficiency. The process of identifying requirements, matching resources to applications, allocating those resources, and scheduling and monitoring grid resources over time in order to run grid applications efficiently is known as Grid Resource Management. The main aim of load balancing is to provide a distributed, low-cost scheme that balances the load across all the processors. This book guides about a dynamic load balancing algorithm strategy in a simulated grid environment which fulfils the objective to achieve high performance computing by optimal usage of geographically distributed and heterogeneous resources in the grid environment.

Buckling load calculations are crucial for industry. This study examines experiments on two types of buckling columns: long and intermediate, both made from 304 stainless steel. 32 specimens were tested with and without shot peening (SP).The research aims to assess column loads in an oil field without corrosion, study corrosion effects, and evaluate dynamic buckling with fixed-pinned columns. Euler, Johnson, and Perry-Robertson formulas were used for calculations.An electrical Laser alarm triggered at 1% buckle deflection, stopping the test rig. Results were obtained without heat treatment, comparing experimental and theoretical values. Safety factors of 1.3 and 3 were needed to align experimental and theoretical results for Johnson and Perry-Robertson.Intermediate columns (diameter: 10 mm, thinness ratio: 112) showed the most improvement. Eroded columns in soil experienced a 28% (long) and 19.6% (medium) reduction in overturning load.The study suggests potential lifespan extension for 304 stainless steel, benefiting oil well operations and equipment longevity, with positive economic implications for oil-related activities.

The empowerment of women is fundamental to the strength of families and societies. In India, women's development is pivotal to the success of a significant portion of the workforce. One such initiative is the promotion of Self-Help Groups aimed at organizing economically marginalized women to access micro-financing through bank linkages, women in marine community play a crucial role in both pre- and post-harvest activities. They manage households, childcare, education, health, finances, and debt repayment responsibilities, while contributing significantly to post-harvest seafood handling, processing, and marketing. However, their responsibilities double during the off-season, raising concerns about their quality of life, including access to health, sanitation, education, and empowerment. Research conducted that SHGs has positive impact fisherwomen's lives by increasing family income, encouraging savings, enhancing financial discipline, improving social status, promoting decision-making within families, and raising awareness about health and personal hygiene. However, there are challenges related to banking services and access to loans tailored to the specific needs of marine women.

Rice being the staple food for more than 70% of the population and the source of livelihood for more than 150 million rural households, is the backbone to Indian Agriculture. At 89.5 million tonnes, it accounts for 43% of food grain production and 55% of cereal production. Rice is cultivated under diverse climatic, hydrological and edaphic conditions, has been adapted to various climatic situations, and is grown throughout the year from below sea level in Kerala to 2000 metre elevations in the Himalayas, from 80N latitude in Kanyakumari to 350N latitude in Kasmir. Upland rice is grown in a wide range of environments in terms of soil, moisture regime, climate and elevation. The histochemical approach on accumulation and remobilization of starch at flowering stage drought in upland rices is relevant to know the varietal differences in carbohydrate accumulation and remobilization pattern in rice for better use of constraint in the breeding program.

The Kole wetlands of Kerala are an unique ecosystem that lies between the Chalakkudy river in Thrissur and the Bharathapuzha river in Malappuram District. The major activity in and around is paddy cultivation. The uncontrolled excessive use of pesticides and fertilizers has created tremendous adverse effects on the ecosystem. Pullu Kole land is one of the largest Kole lands in Thrissur. As it is a large dispersing area with human habitation all around, the residential area will be always susceptible to pollution. The study investigated the physical, chemical, and biological parameters of well water and soil near the residential area of the Kole land. All parameters were analyzed using standard methods and results have been compared with BIS (2010) and CCME (1999) standards for water and soil respectively study strongly indicates a potentially dangerous situation that requires immediate attention and action. According to the present status, it is recommended that the drinking water should periodically test and monitoring is necessary to ensure that our water resources meet the standard of drinking water.

Rare earth-doped metal oxide nanomaterials were produced via one of the green synthesis routes. The prepared nanocomposites are characterized to determine the structural, morphological, optical, and electrical properties. XRD is employed for the estimation of crystallite size. TEM image shows the particles are found to be in the nano range that are used for the fabrication of the nanoelectronics. SEM images depict porous, voids, and agglomeration. EDX analysis confirmed the elements present in the prepared sample. FTIR was used to identify the composition of the obtained samples. K-M plot is employed to find out the energy band gap of the prepared samples. Light emission of the PL spectra shows that samples are useful for the LED. The increases in the TL intensity with the dose rate found useful for the dosimetry. Dielectric properties and AC conductivity of all the samples were studied for the different frequency ranges. The results show that the materials have higher dielectric constant and low dielectric loss that can be used as electrical insulating material in nano packing applications. Therefore, the prepared samples are useful for multifunctional applications.

In this exercise, I try to ask a primordial question which consists of seeking the specificity of the relationship or the link between two opposing disciplines: theology and politics. We see in this work that the presence of theology in our daily lives is always a subject of discussion. To analyze this question, we will return to the philosophy of Locke. This thinker wrote several articles explaining that human affairs do not need the teachings of the Church. In this context, Locke finds the solution in the need to establish a civil state whose creator is man. But this new political development was not easy to achieve. In this perspective he must find a clever way out at a time when religion is absolutely dominant. This is the exercise that we have been working on throughout this attempt. In this attempt we are obliged to resort particularly to the political philosophy of Hobbes, solely to compare the two philosophers. In this work we have also attempted to dialogue with Locke - from different points of view on the political present - as well as with a group of contemporary thinkers on the theological-political question.
