This dissertation examines the social determinants of the rental housing crisis in the District of Abidjan, focusing on the specific case of the relict village of Anono Cocody. The rental housing crisis is a major problem in many urban areas in Africa, particularly in Côte d'Ivoire, where rapid population growth and increased urbanization have led to a growing demand for housing. The study is based on a mixed research methodology, combining field surveys, semi-structured interviews and statistical data analysis. It highlights the key social determinants contributing to the rental housing crisis in the relict village of Anono Cocody, a neighborhood that exemplifies the challenges faced by many Abidjan residents. The results show that several social factors interact to create and perpetuate the rental housing crisis.

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease that has become a public health problem. It is characterized by hyperglycemia. The aim of this book is to present the antihyperglycemic, antioxidant, antialzheimer and cytoprotective effects of extracts from two plants from northeastern Algeria: Rosmarinus officinalis (RO) and Thymus numidicus (TN). In the first stage, phytochemical investigation of extracts from several fractions of the two plants revealed polyphenol and flavonoid content, antioxidant activity, antiglycation power, the ability of the extracts to inhibit the enzymes ¿-amylase and acetyl choline esterase, and to elucidate the most effective fraction of the two plants on the activity of carbohydrate metabolism enzymes. Secondly, two in vivo experiments were carried out: the first to assess the hypoglycemic and anti-hyperglycemic effects on normal and glucose-loaded rats, and the second to study the dose-dependent effect of the two plants' extracts on carbohydrate metabolism.

Assessment of an amnesic syndrome is based on identification of the affected memory system and process, using a neuropsychological assessment, in order to orientate the etiological work-up (encoding, storage or retrieval).Impairments in episodic memory encoding and retrieval are mainly linked to disturbances in attentional capacity, working memory and executive functions, most often of non-degenerative, non-neurological origin. Episodic memory storage disorders should be investigated primarily for non-degenerative, potentially curable causes. In the case of chronic, isolated and progressively worsening storage impairment, a degenerative cause should be considered. Complementary tests (MRI and CSF examination) can confirm degenerative damage and differentiate Alzheimer's disease from other non-Alzheimer's degenerative causes of amnesic presentation, which often progress more slowly.Recognition of a suspicious memory complaint could help clinicians identify people at risk of developing dementia, and could provide them with protective treatment.

The present research work entitled "the complexity of micro dumps in the city of Concordia, the regulatory issue and its applications", was carried out in order to fulfil the academic obligations necessary to obtain the degree of Bachelor of Political Science at the National University of Rosario (UNR). The choice of topic took into account the complex reality experienced by the residents of the city of Concordia with the presence of different types of micro dumps in the urban area of the city, an issue that crosses different aspects, such as waste management, environmental education of citizens and the issue of regulations, their applications, controls, sanctions, etc.. The latter is what will be emphasised, the characteristics of the regulations, their weaknesses and possible inconsistencies, in terms of their design and application. We may well call this the institutional normative issue of micro dumps in the city: is their formation due to the absence/lack of norms, or to structural weaknesses of the executive power to apply them, questions like these will guide the research.

Product innovation in the food sector, as well as concern about food quality in general, is growing and is regulated worldwide. As a result, there is a greater demand for increasingly qualified professionals to carry out activities in the bromatological field, including, in addition to composition control, physical-chemical and microbiological quality control for the purposes of developing new products; processing control and even inspections for possible findings of fraud. One of the main driving forces of this work is based on the confidence I have in the theater as a means of denunciation to promote profound social changes. The current living conditions in Mexico for a significant percentage of the population are deeply hurtful and unworthy. The actions imposed by the upper political echelons are becoming more and more procarious and detrimental, and yet the machinery does not stop, gradually heading for the cliff.Governed by an oligarchic class that accesses to high positions only to continue increasing its power and capital, and induced (in a forced and aggressive way) to oblivion through a media that is in charge of communicating only what serves to maintain the status quo, Mexico is a country where an alternative and very useful means to promote resistance is precisely the aforementioned form of theater.

The monograph presents a comprehensive study of methods for describing complex geometric objects applicable to solving problems of mathematical modeling in various fields, visualization of three-dimensional objects and geometric aspects of identifying their features, and a model of a high-rise building. Modeling of physical and mechanical processes and engineering structures is often associated with the need to create geometric models. With their help it is possible to define an image of an existing or designed object, to conduct a numerical experiment corresponding to the problem statement and to carry out the necessary corrections. The formal description in connection with the development of modern methods of computer modeling is primarily the numerical modeling of geometric objects of the surrounding world. In this case, their variety is created using basic geometric elements: points, lines and surfaces.

In classic fiction literature, homeopathy is not very often mentioned, so it was curious to find in the novel "His only son", by Leopoldo Alas, Clarín, a character defined as a "Homeopathic Doctor". Could it be possible that, as in his other novel "La regenta", the book was based on real people and, consequently, a homeopathic doctor practiced in Oviedo at the end of the 19th century? This work is the summary of the search for this doctor, his discovery and his curious biography.

The book takes the reader back to the youth revolutions. Movements for equality were appearing in numerous cities around the world. The focus, in this case, is on Mexico. The movements for equality of race, culture, sex, education and democracy brought the city to a time of chaos, injuries and deaths. The 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico were one more example of all these demands, with the symbol of Black Power lasting for eternity. The book combines images with text. Each image corresponds to a text that allows the reader to enter a moment and a convulsive time. All this should be the key to value the importance of historical memory and, at the same time, to reflect on the permanent will of the dominant power to maintain its economic and social position.

The study of the unconscious makes sense for the depression clinic, because it is structured as language. It is in language that we rely when we seek an assertive clinic. A language that is based on ideology and draws on the psychic memory of the patient, learner and analysand. The Quaternary Structure is the dynamic relationship between present and absent, in the articulatory binomial of loss-lack. By analyzing the clinic of depression through psychoanalysis and reminiscences, or the rest, we revisit the Freudian assumption that traumas are inherent in our childhood life. In encoding, the assumption of a cycle of subject, demand and image confirms the idea that it is people who depress people and only in this personal relationship and favourable organizational climate can we find the answer to this exhaustion and also to any intervention in the depression clinic.

The objective of this research is to document the process that a private hospital located in the city of Guadalajara with less than 100 employees went through to achieve certification by the Consejo de Salubridad General (CSG). The analysis is carried out focusing on the tripod of Peng's strategy, with a comparative study between the situation before obtaining the recognition and after meeting the requirements. A review of the principal-agent relationship is carried out to explain the changes that occurred and the changes that occurred in the organization. The study method is based on the analysis of a set of interviews with hospital employees who were part of the transformation, as well as the collection of their perspectives on the direction the institution has taken and the benefits they have achieved. The results show the competitive advantage gained by the private hospital and the strategy they have used to maintain it.

A reflection on the role of the primary school curriculum plan in integrating the contents of the local curriculum into the teaching and learning process at the Samora M. Machel comprehensive primary school in Metarica, 2013-2015.

The work analyzes postcards produced in France in the context of the Great War, or World War I (1914-1918), which are discussed as iconographic representations of events associated with the conflict. It shows that these small souvenirs communicated verbal and non-verbal messages, not only with the aim of disseminating and/or reaffirming certain elements of the collective imaginary relating to the war and the combatants, but also with the aim of contributing to its construction and perpetuation.

This work will show the fundamentals of structured cabling, the physical media used for the installation of Closed Circuit Television systems. In this particular work, it will be used for the installation of a Small Hydroelectric Power Station located between the towns of Pinhal da Serra and Barracão, in the north of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Structured cabling is already commonly used in offices and small businesses. Its aim is to establish a standard installation, regardless of manufacturer, and to offer the user the possibility of expansion as well as ease of physical changes without loss of speed and data, Based on this concept, we can use structured cabling for the installation of a Closed Circuit Television system, as it will offer the user security for the data being transmitted, in this case images, with the possibility of adding new points, i.e. cameras, without the need for new cabling. Twisted pair metal cables and fibre optics will be used to connect the components, both of which achieve the same objectives.

Quality is important in all areas of the economy, but in the service sector it occupies a more prominent and very specific place, since before the consumer perceives the product, the service provided by the organisation is the first impression the customer will have. The general aim of this study was to assess customers' perceptions of the quality of the services provided by the Rota do Mar (head office) and Moda Center shops in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe - PE. In order to achieve the proposed objective, the methodology used was descriptive, explanatory, applied, bibliographical, case study and field research. The instrument used was a survey containing one (1) open and easy-to-understand question, which allowed a sample of eighty-one (81) wholesale customers to express their opinions on what could be done to improve the quality of the services provided by Rota do Mar.

Oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) refers to squamous cell cancers that develop in the posterior third of the tongue, tonsils, soft palate and posterior pharyngeal wall. The epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a biological process that allows a polarized epithelial cell, which normally interacts with the basal membrane via the basal surface, to undergo biochemical, molecular and morphological changes, which culminate in the acquisition of a mesenchymal cell phenotype, thus increasing its capacity for migration, invasion and resistance to apoptosis. Studies investigating the expression of EMT markers and their correlation with HPV status and prognosis have not yet elucidated this research due to the limitations of the studies carried out, such as the samples used in oropharyngeal carcinoma research with limited series of patients. The purpose of this book is to correlate the main proteins involved in EMT with HPV infection, as well as the prognosis of this neoplasm.

Analysing the future need for electricity demanded by economic agents and society in general is one of the priority technical activities in the planning of the Brazilian electricity sector. Defining the route of transmission lines is an integral part of this planning, in which the impacts associated with the construction and operation of these projects must be recognised, seeking to minimise the negative aspects and mitigate their effects on the population and the environment in general. Sustainability assessment can be seen as a multi-criteria problem, which must include technical, economic, environmental and social aspects. Multicriteria techniques have therefore been applied to assessing the impacts of complex projects, including projects to expand the electricity system in terms of generation, transmission and distribution. This research focuses on the electricity transmission network segment and aims to contribute to presenting an impact assessment methodology that integrates different indicators that reflect environmental and socio-economic criteria.

The indigenous-mestizo worlds of South America show sensibilities open to matrix relations (H. Maturana), shaping authentic community. These aspects go beyond the strictly particular and promote symbolic links between human experience and each of the beings and elements of the environment. Within this framework, the book analyzes the following cultural traits based on fifteen testimonies of Aymara and Mapuche representatives/ascendants: trust as a group experience, the image of the earth as a living force, the protective encounter with each of the beings and elements that constitute it, the community in permanent ritual link with the tutelary spirits and with the diversity of elements that coexist. Secondly, it demonstrates how the social meanings discussed in the previous point correspond to linguistic structures that enhance the integration relations between speaker and referred context. It is concluded that both aspects of the analysis give foundation to the daily world of its inhabitants, to the spaces where they congregate and to the times that relate their historical experiences in order to build collective welfare.

The premise of healthy gastronomy is to develop nutritional re-education in order to maintain good health and prevent organic alterations caused by undue or excessive consumption of carbohydrates, which are stored in the form of fat in our bodies. Therefore, healthy gastronomy is nothing more than knowing the foods and their functions.This book is the result of work inspired by cooperation, dedication and integration. It is the reflection of a team of teachers who, in different areas of knowledge, have set themselves a single objective, favoring the teaching and learning of the students of the first module in gastronomy at Faculdade Senac PE.

The book entitled "HUMAN/FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT TO HEALTH: THE HUMANISATION OF THE MEDICINAL/THERAPEUTIC USE OF CANNABIS IN BRAZIL" deals with the medicinal/therapeutic use of cannabis in Brazil. There are diseases that are treated with cannabis, such as: Alzheimer's; Multiple Sclerosis; Lateral Sclerosis; Seizures; Stress, among others. There are already countries that use cannabis to promote quality of life, such as Canada, some US states, Uruguay, Chile, Spain, Israel, the Netherlands, among others. There are challenges to the effectiveness of the human right to health through the use of cannabis.

The aim of this research was to produce a gluten-free loaf formulated with red rice flour, microbial transglutaminase enzyme and chitosan in proportions of 0%, 1% and 2%, in which the sample containing 0% chitosan was used as a control sample for later comparison with the others. The physical and chemical characteristics of the breads were analysed and the following parameters were determined: texture and humidity by infrared during 5 days of storage, pH, acidity, colour, humidity, specific volume and water activity. The breads produced showed good uniformity and colour. According to the results obtained, the breads proved to be suitable for all the physico-chemical parameters analysed. The breads with chitosan did not differ significantly in terms of moisture and specific volume, while in the other parameters the breads obtained values close to those observed in products already on the market. In terms of texture, it can be seen that with the increase in the addition of chitosan there was a decrease in humidity and an increase in hardness in the breads, affecting their chewiness. The product developed in the research.

This book is a presentation of the results of the conclusion of the author's doctoral project entitled "Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and escitalopram in changing cognitive performance in patients with major depressive disorder in a randomized, parallel, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial, presented to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo to obtain the title of Doctor of Science. The text delves into current data on Major Depressive Disorder, the most commonly used forms of treatment and the promising results of neuromodulation, especially transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) as an adjunctive treatment for Major Depressive Disorder. In order to analyze this issue, data from the neuropsychological evaluation of patients from a randomized, double-blind, parallel and placebo-controlled clinical trial comparing tDCS and escitalopram in the treatment of patients with major depressive disorder were presented, seeking to verify differences between cognitive performance before and after each of the two techniques.

This work was put together as an activity for the First Postgraduate Class in Environmental Sciences, in the subject of Recovery of Degraded Areas, in which the students endeavoured to do a good job in putting this book together. The book was put together with some of the students' main subjects of study, where their dissertations were in the area. In addition, this book, put together with the course tutors, will serve as a textbook for undergraduates taking the subject of Recovering Degraded Areas.

This book is based on a production philosophy called Lean Manufacturing. The main justification for developing this work is the fact that I was able to experience the day-to-day running of a company that uses the concepts and tools of this method. The general objective was to evaluate lean manufacturing practices in a chemical company in the Manaus Industrial Estate. The methodology for developing this work was made up of five stages. In the first stage, the idea of characterizing the research is constructed, in the next stage, the research approach is worked out, subsequently, the company studied was characterized with a specific form defined as an Individual Interview Script, then the methods for data collection were worked out, and finally, the data analysis methods were presented to the technical information used in the research. This work was based on the application of a form to evaluate lean practices in a chemical industry in the Manaus Industrial Estate. The main points analyzed in this research were the areas of Materials and Inventory, Training, Preventive Maintenance and Quality.

The present research study is quantitative, descriptive-correlational and cross-sectional. It was conducted with the health personnel of the surgical center during the months of January and February 2016, whose objective was to determine the relationship between working conditions and the level of job satisfaction. The sample population consisted of 51 people including physicians, nurses and nursing technicians who met the established inclusion criteria. The information was obtained through the instruments: Evaluation of working conditions and for job satisfaction the Font Roja Questionnaire which are valid and validated. The results obtained were tabulated and presented in simple and double-entry statistical tables. The information obtained was processed using the IBM statistical program, SPSS STATISTIC 23. From the results it is concluded that there are acceptable working conditions, which have a significant relationship with the average level of job satisfaction.
