This book is inspired by the need to instruct the reader on the possibility of early detection of mental deterioration in the elderly as the only way to guide the health-illness process in a more timely manner, even though mental stimulation can be carried out successfully and also improve affective-cognitive adaptation through the use of various therapeutic and rehabilitative resources as a way to provide healthy care for the elderly and minimise psychological discomfort in the family. Remember that there is nothing more beautiful than loving the elderly.

The present study analyzes the influence of the Type A personality trait, called hostility, on the development of primary arterial hypertension. Recent studies show incongruent results regarding the interrelation of these two constructs; therefore, this research is mainly oriented to clarify these antecedents by means of a measurement instrument constructed from the items used in the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory. This instrument seeks to obtain a profile of the subject's hostility trait along with a clinical and sociodemographic profile. By comparing the results of patients with arterial hypertension or diabetes and subjects who are unaware of their health status in relation to this condition, the relationships between each of the components of the personality trait, the symptoms pertaining to this disease and the condition itself are analyzed, thus providing an explanation that clarifies some of the doubts concerning this psychological phenomenon.

There are lurid issues, and those related to social aspects of a conflictive nature are by nature so, both in reality and in the way they are dealt with. In a country like Guatemala, they are the daily talk of the news: written, televised, electronic and other likely ones. Violence and crime are on the daily menu, constantly lurking in the media and around every corner. It is a constant feature of violent-criminal activity, the lack of specific charges, let alone judicial sentences, reaching high levels of impunity. Conflict groups go beyond youth gang expressions. The term conflictive group encompasses more expressions of collective conformation than the concept of mara, which is specialised to name one of the possible forms to be considered within that which contemplates it. In Guatemala, one of the fifty most violent cities in the world, clandestine collective integration with illicit objectives is common. The city is also a cradle of thinkers, who, lacking opportunities, cohabit with criminals, with no hope of improving their way of life.

To supply the town of Mbujimayi with drinking water, REGIDESO has organized its distribution network into three pressure zones: the low-pressure zone, the medium-pressure zone and the high-pressure zone. Each zone has its own topographical characteristics: the low-pressure zone is supplied by gravity, while the other 2 zones necessarily require electrical energy to power the motor-driven pumps used to convey the fluids. This gives rise to the need for shock wave protection in the event of load shedding, to protect electromechanical equipment, accessories, buildings, etc. Two methods are used to size protection tanks, one analytical and the other graphical. Yellow fever is an endemic disease in the tropical regions of the Americas and Africa. The sylvatic form is transmitted mainly between monkeys and by mosquitoes of the Haemogogus and Sabethes genera, although humans can become infected when they enter this ecosystem. The urban form has Aedes aegypti as its main vector and is spread through human-mosquito-human transmission. It is an acute, febrile, non-contagious infectious disease of short duration (a maximum of 12 days) and variable severity. It is produced by an arbovirus of the genus Flavivirus, family Flaviviridae. The disease remains endemic and enzootic in various tropical regions of the Americas and Africa, and is responsible for periodic outbreaks of varying magnitude. Brazil's history lacks legal frameworks on migration drawn up during a democratic regime: the re-democratisation that took place at the end of the Estado Novo and the Military Dictatorship and the respective constitutions of 1946 and 1988 did not immediately break with the restrictive migration policies of the authoritarian regimes that preceded them. Thus, this descriptive and exploratory work, using bibliographical and documentary research methods, aims to verify, based on the constitutional and legal status assumed by foreigners in the national legal system, how Brazilian migration policy seeks to align itself with international principles and instruments for the protection of human rights, especially since the entry into force of Law 13.445/2017, the New Migration Law, which, from a humanising perspective, has come to deal with migration as a globally integrated phenomenon in which Brazil is included as a country of transit, exit and destination. Finally, we analyse what is still needed to legally consolidate the construction of a human rights phase in Brazilian migration policy, initiated by the new Migration Law.

The decisive role that teachers must play to ensure the educational inclusion of students with special educational needs is currently recognized. However, it is also widely accepted that most of the time teachers have not been prepared to provide quality education for all students. This is an enormous challenge for primary education. For this reason, we have taken into account the application of to find the main potentialities and needs in this problem. This text offers a group of actions that make up a methodological strategy to modify the attitudes of Primary Education teachers in the municipality of Camajuaní. It works for the achievement of good inclusive practices from the specialized attention required by the education of schoolchildren with special educational needs. This was subjected to evaluation by a group of experts who issued their criteria and considerations. It is concluded demonstrating the effectiveness of the designed strategy and recommending its generalization to the rest of the teachers in the schools.

A study on the localisation of musculoskeletal pain and functional limitations in undergraduate physiotherapy students with temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD), headache and neck pain. The aim of this study was to identify the presence of pain symptoms in students with TMD, neck pain and headache, together with algias found in other regions of the body that may or may not correlate with the algias studied and the presence of functional limitations. An analysis of the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain among students in the last 12 months and the correlation between the presence of the "pain" symptom and the functions performed in activities of daily living (ADL).

The study of the vegetation of the Kabyè massifs was carried out with the aim of contributing to knowledge of floristic diversity and plant groupings. The methodological approach used involved documentary research and the collection of floristic and ecological data in 171 plots measuring 40 m x 40 m. The study identified 301 species belonging to 74 families and 206 genera. The most represented families are Fabaceae, Poaceae and Euphorbiaceae. The most abundant and dominant biological types are phanerophytes and therophytes. In terms of phytogeography, the crude and weighted spectra of Sudano-Zambezian and Pantropical species show that they are the most represented. Using the DECORANA method, six plant formations (06) and sixteen (16) plant groupings were identified. The species richness of these groups varied from 28 to 121 species, while the Shannon index and Pielou equitability ranged from 3.69 to 4.10 bits and 0.85 to 0.97 respectively. Biodiversity in the Kabyè massifs is under threat from human activity, and it is important to control this threat by taking appropriate measures.

Considered a serious public health problem, dengue is a disease that worries health authorities around the world because of its widespread circulation and its ability to develop severe and lethal forms of the disease. The successive dengue epidemics in the state of Rio de Janeiro require a better approach and understanding of the dynamics of the disease in the region, in order to reduce the occurrence of severe cases and deaths. Within this scenario, this work analyses the spatial distribution of dengue cases in the municipalities of the state of Rio de Janeiro, seeking to represent, in the form of thematic maps, the spatial distribution of reported dengue cases, carrying out spatial analyses with the integration of data through the Geographic Information System (GIS) and the analysis of area data with the support of spatial statistical techniques. The book highlights the importance of GIS in spatial analysis in health, as a tool to support the planning of policies and actions to control dengue in at-risk populations. The target audience is students of geosciences, health sciences, engineering and anyone interested in geoprocessing.

Engineering education in Brazil needs to evolve and move away from the classroom and the traditional model to embrace the new tools and new teaching models that have emerged in the last decade. The activity that gave rise to the thesis of this book (which is included in it) shows a simple way of teaching a basic concept to engineers that is different from the traditional way. Currently with the rise of social networks, especially Facebook, college students have been adopting the use of idioms, this new style of expressing an idea with few words, which is being coupled nimbly in their vocabulary, clearly breaking the rules of the grammar of the Spanish language. These idioms have been taken out of social networks by people, in order to identify themselves in different social groups. And in the case of university students they have taken it beyond their social groups, making use of them in their academic training, because they are accustomed to use them as part of their vocabulary and writing. In this research we will analyze how it is influencing and affecting the social and educational life of university students who have not been able to separate themselves from this trend, that is, learning to use this type of abbreviations exclusively in social networks where there is a limit of spaces.

This book was written with the aim of looking at how Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is disposed of in the city of Pinheiro Machado, as well as showing the level of knowledge of the urban population in relation to MSW and its disposal, highlighting critical points of open-air waste and suggesting sustainable alternatives for the Municipal Government, schools and society as a whole, for example, carrying out campaigns in favour of protecting the environment and their own health. The general objective is to identify how MSW generated in the city of Pinheiro Machado is disposed of, as well as to assess the effectiveness of environmental education campaigns related to waste disposal in public places. In order to fulfil the general objective, the following specific objectives were defined: to identify the critical points of irregular waste disposal; to understand the risks of poor waste disposal; to identify possible waste collection points, whether or not they exist, and how many there are; to propose sustainable alternatives for public authorities, schools and society, such as the implementation of environmental education campaigns with the distribution of environmental education information material.

In the last thirty years, the agro-export model based on a new technological package strongly dependent on inputs and which induced a marked process of agriculturization caused a series of environmental, social and productive conflicts, which seem to be showing contradictions. Among these, land use in peri-urban areas has received special attention due to complaints about the contamination and health effects that agrochemical applications could be causing to the population living in the urban-rural interface (IUR). This study showed that priests had a daily diet based on a low intake of beans, vegetables and fruit, foods considered to be protective against NCDs. However, there were healthy habits such as a low-sodium diet, a preference for fat-free meat and skinless chicken, low alcohol consumption and frequent physical exercise. As for reported morbidity, the vast majority said they did not suffer from Diabetes Mellitus, Systemic Arterial Hypertension and Gastritis/Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. The aforementioned results point to the urgent reconstruction of the social idea of men's health, i.e. that an intersection between the nursing team and other sectors of society in the fight against health inequalities can slow down the growth of NCDs, prevent their appearance and mitigate their effects.

This book takes an educational approach and focuses on the environment, based on on-site visits to a group of dairy farmers settled in the interior of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. We highlight the importance of carrying out an activity with less environmental impact, emphasising the need to pay attention to waste and residues. The justification for this study is mainly to sensitise dairy farmers to the need to review certain attitudes in the cattle production process, as well as to inform them of the importance of thinking about environmental issues and preserving the environment in which they live. There was a joint effort where everyone carried out a participatory environmental management indicator, helping to raise awareness of environmental issues. This book therefore emphasises the need to sensitise dairy farmers to the importance of carrying out an activity with a lower environmental impact, highlighting the need to pay attention to the disposal of waste and residues.
