This book sought to investigate the background to the construction of the Rural Code of 1865, and to explain why that project was abandoned by the provincial government in 1858. The realization of this work was promoted by the politician and jurist Valentín Alsina, being minister and then governor of the province of Buenos Aires. On March 26, 1856, Alsina sent a note to the Commission of Landowners requesting the preparation of a report on points and issues of interest for the life of the countryside, which would serve as a basis for the construction of a unified rural legislation. The reading and analysis of the institutional correspondence between the government and the landowners showed the commitment and attention that the creation of such report deserved, which allowed to see the existing problems in the countryside, and the different perspectives that were held about the complex rural reality of the River Plate.

The world is like a book, where you have to go inside to learn. Getting to know Puerto Vallarta has awakened an interest in knowing and living with the local community within the ejidos, inspiring us to analyze the transition that the local community of "Las juntas y Los Veranos" and "Servicios Ecoturísticos Playa Grande" has gone through until incorporating tourism in the development of enterprises related to the tourist sector in order to know the environmental background of the community and to observe the most important social factors that can be influenced by the tourist activity. The importance is due to the conditions and needs of both the activity and the local population, as they evolve over time, being susceptible to change. As we get to know new places, we realize that travel is not only useful to relate expectation with reality, but also to discover things as they really are, instead of imagining how they will be.

This paper consists of a brief risk analysis of the cloud computing model, based on research conducted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), in order to determine best practices in the implementation of backups using Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). These two institutions were taken as a basis for being a world reference in security and technologies. In order to prepare the current work, the case of Mexpres del Sureste, S.A. de C.V., a transportation company dedicated to the transfer of import and export merchandise, where there is a need to safeguard data in an efficient and secure manner, was taken as a particular case. However, the author considers that it is generically applicable to any organization, regardless of its line of business, size or nature. In summary, this is a reading for the uninitiated in the subject, which lays the foundations for a deep self-taught learning and more complex volumes in the world of cloud computing.

The aim of this study was to analyse the evolutionary process of a group of people injured by ankle sprains following a physiotherapeutic intervention using Kinesio taping techniques associated with proprioceptive exercises. The research was characterised by a case series study with a quantitative approach, in which a total of 4 participants of both sexes, aged between 18 and 35, took part in the sample. To process the data, a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet was used for comparative analyses in the pre- and post-intervention periods using graphs and tables. After analysing and discussing the results, it can be concluded that this research had a major influence on improving functional and mechanical stability after an ankle sprain injury; it is necessary to look for the retrograde effects generated by the injury. In view of the above, around 100 per cent of the patients in the study showed an evolutionary process to the loss of their deficient mechanisms; however, it was observed that the sample referring to grade II ligament injury will need a period longer than 10 sessions to show an even more significant improvement.

Haematopoietic stem cell transplantation is characterised by the elimination of the patient's entire haematopoietic and immunological system by means of chemotherapy, whether or not associated with radiotherapy sessions, with subsequent replacement of the non-functioning cells with other stem cells, either from the patient themselves or from another individual, with the aim of re-establishing the normal physiological functions performed by the same. It is a therapeutic alternative for patients with various malignant and non-malignant diseases. As a result of the weakened immune system required to carry out the transplant, infections are complications that jeopardise the patient's quality of life. One of the most common infectious agents is the human cytomegalovirus, which causes a substantial increase in morbidity and a reduction in the patient's chances of recovery and life. The aim of this study was to verify which diagnostic methods are viable for detecting human cytomegalovirus infection in patients undergoing haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and the respective clinical variables that can influence their survival.

With the national economy developing, logistics activities in Brazil are growing rapidly. As a result, the logistics service provider sector is growing more and more in the country, as outsourcing logistics is proving to be a viable alternative. Therefore, this paper investigates the relative efficiency of 33 logistics service providers (3PL) in Brazil in 2016, using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). DEA is a non-parametric mathematical tool that uses linear programming to calculate the relative efficiency of decision-making units (DMUs). The purpose of this study is to be able to compare each unit, forming a ranking according to the efficiency of the production processes, and also to be able to find the benchmark companies, i.e. the ones that stand out the most out of all. In this way, company managers will be able to select the best logistics operators and those best suited to their employer's reality.

The quantification of the concentration of antibiotics is important to improve their efficacy and for dose correction in cases where the PK/PD of the drug is altered. This is very clear in critically ill patients or when certain clearance procedures such as dialysis or hemofiltration are used. However, there are no techniques that allow such quantification on a routine basis. For this reason, Wong and co-workers developed a fluorescent biosensor based on a mutant beta-lactamase (PenPC) to qualitatively sense the presence of beta-lactam antibiotics in agricultural and food samples. In this paper, a method will be established that allows the determination of these compounds in a routine manner through the use of the PenPC biosensor.

The aim of this book was to study the average price of urban plots in Londrina from 2011-2014. Our initial hypothesis was that the east side of Londrina had appreciated more than the other areas of the city in the years 2011-2014, in terms of the price per square metre of unbuilt urban plots. One of the explanations for this increase in value would be the new investments and developments installed in the east, such as the Marco Zero Complex, the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR), Londrina's first planned neighbourhood (Parque Tauá), among others, which boosted the property market. To this end, we carried out a survey of adverts in the Folha de Londrina from 2011 to 2014, in which we consulted the property section of the first Sunday of each month, to find out the price per square metre of plots without buildings in the city of Londrina.

The heart is a pair of muscular pumps with valves combined into a single organ. Although the fibromuscular framework and conduction tissues of these pumps are structurally intertwined, each pump (the so-called "right" and "left" hearts) is physiologically separate and is interposed in series at different points in the dual circulation. Despite this serial functional arrangement, the two pumps are usually described topographically in parallel. Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are alterations that cause instability in the functioning of the cardiovascular system, having a direct impact on the life of the individual affected by these pathologies, thus reducing their functional capacity and also interfering in the performance of their activities. Cardiac surgery is often the treatment. Among the different types of heart surgery, we find that coronary artery bypass grafting accounts for more than half the number of heart surgeries in Brazil. According to the World Health Organization, cardiac rehabilitation is the sum of the activities necessary to guarantee patients with heart disease the best physical conditions.

This study seeks to better understand the planning and implementation of public policies in border areas, particularly in the Amazon. Although public policies have a specific meaning, the product of a dramatic process of conflict between different social actors, they don't always actualise this meaning in the process of their implementation, either because of the actions of the social actors involved or because of the specific administrative difficulties in dealing with the demands presented by the different social actors. In the case in point, border regions are challenging, as they are not dealing with social segments with traditional social stratification, but rather with a group of social actors in a constant process of social mobility. In this sense, we sought to define the study areas according to the distinct socio-economic realities present in the state of Rondônia, which, in turn, was a product of its occupation process that is still juxtaposed today as a reality in the region. The study involves population segments living in mining areas and riverside areas of the Western Amazon.

The increased challenge between the agricultural engineer and his or her economic environment encourages the implementation of a global training strategy that guarantees the conservation and development of natural resources, while taking human health into account. In fact, according to a report by the World Conservation Organization, by the year 2000 our planet had already consumed 30% of all the natural resources since the 1960s. This is due, on the one hand, to the fact that the world's population has doubled since 1960 and, on the other, to the fact that living standards have continued to rise, especially in developed countries.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze aspects of postmodern narrative, specifically in Spain. For this purpose, an overview of the concept of postmodernity is presented.postmodernity; we begin by examining the impact it has had on the social, cultural, ideological and intellectual spheres. Thus, readers will be able to better understand this phenomenon and glimpse why it has modified some aspects of literature. That said, literature is an art that is adaptable to the times and responds to the needs of society; therefore, it is in a state of constant change or evolution, and it is precisely in one of these adaptations where the origin of "hyperfiction" lies. This form of narration, which has led many to question the future of this, prompted to study the way it works online, as it embraces the literary world to expand the possibility of publishing massively, because on the web everyone can be writers, poets, journalists,critics... (without the need of any preparation). In addition, it is perceived that society is invaded by digital media: today, we are all surfers.

Regional economic integration in Africa gained momentum in the early 90s. It was characterized by the implementation of structural reforms and the conclusion of numerous free-trade agreements. Regional economic integration has had a major impact on the strategic depth of our countries. The main objective of our study is to analyze the contribution of trade openness to economic growth. The analyses were carried out on seven WAEMU countries over the period 1990-2015. The estimated model is Hendry's error correction model (ECM). Trade openness plays a catalytic role, without necessarily being an ultimate determinant of growth. For this, it is necessary to favor a policy of selective openness to protect certain sectors.

The book brings together six scientific articles from researcher Dom Jair Rodrigues Silva's master's degree research on the subject of literary practices in the classroom, covering the early years of primary education, the EJA and teacher training. In our research on literary practices in the classroom, we sought to develop a reflection on the possible contributions from the perspective of sharing literature in the daily life of primary schools in the early years. Based on theoretical references, which defend a broad conception of literature as fruition and nourishment, and on data from interviews with two teachers at this level of education, about their literary training and practice with the teaching of literature in their classes, we found that the teachers recognize the value of literature in the formation of the subject, however, they do not carry out a practice consistent with this conception.

This study looks at the milk producing sector in the municipality of Toledo/PR, analysing the characteristics of milk production units. The theoretical framework of the work permeates the concepts of agribusiness and agro-industrial production chains, starting from the macro-environment to the focus of the work, the production of cow's milk at municipal level. The research carried out for this study involved a sample of 85 producers, registered in a programme run by the Toledo Municipal Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. The questionnaires collected data on a range of items, such as farm structure, labour, herd characteristics, milking, milk storage, economic indicators, management, marketing, satisfaction and the wishes of dairy farmers. The results showed a variety of ways of managing the activity among the farms, where the main factor influencing decisions is the volume of milk produced.

The increase in the incidence of environmental accidents involving fossil fuels and the consequences associated with these compounds has encouraged the search for alternative energy sources, such as biofuels, among which biodiesel can be highlighted. With its increased use, it is also possible that there will be an increase in the incidence of environmental contamination with it. However, little is known about its impacts on groundwater, especially when associated with mixtures containing fossil diesel. With the aim of analyzing the behavior of the compounds present in B20 biodiesel blends (20% biodiesel by volume and 80% diesel) in the underground environment, two studies are being carried out at the Ressacada Experimental Farm. In two experimental areas, a controlled release of 100 liters of the B20 mixture was made and two different remediation techniques are being analyzed: Monitored Natural Attenuation and Methanogenic Biostimulation. This book evaluates the results of the first 15 months of the experiments.

The aim of this book is to discuss, through bibliographical research, how important quality customer service is for a company's growth, given that when you go to a company the first thing you look at is customer service. Salespeople are the first to convey the image of the organisation to the buyer, and if this doesn't happen in a way that satisfies them, in a clear and objective manner, the company loses not just one, but many customers. The company's growth depends, among other factors, on the service provided by the salesperson, thus guaranteeing the organisation's permanence in the competitive market. Quality is an element present in all aspects of human life. So it's no different with service quality, which is responsible for the company's continued growth, as well as achieving customer satisfaction. Quality service is extremely important because it is the salesperson who earns the trust and loyalty of the customer, so that the company can continue to operate and stand out from its competitors.

Introduction:Infectious peritonitis (IP) on dialysis catheters remains the most frequent complication of peritoneal dialysis (PD) in the pediatric population. Methods: In this study, we carried out a descriptive retrospective cross-sectional study of 85 patients undergoing PD over a ten-year period in the pediatrics department of Charles Nicolle University Hospital, Tunis. Results: The incidence of ID in our series was 0.75 episodes/patient-year. The analytical study identified the following risk factors for the occurrence of IPD: hypotrophy (p=0.0045), manual PD modality (p=0.02) and short catheter use time after insertion (p=0.02).We found a significant rate of definitive PD failures secondary to IPD, but no deaths were secondary to infectious episodes. Conclusion: Given the high incidence density of IP in our patients, targeted primary prevention must be carried out using a well-coded, prolonged training program run by specialized personnel.

The monograph is devoted to the study of spectral properties of energy operators whose elements are linear operators acting in Hilbert space. Fourth-order elliptic operators, in particular the bigarmonic operators, play a central role in a wide class of physical models such as linear elasticity theory, stiffness problems, image compression with optimized and sufficiently sparse stored data, and in the formulation of Stokes flows. In this connection, in solid state physics, quantum field theory, elasticity theory and many other fields, special attention is paid to the study of essential and discrete spectra of the energy operator, i.e., the Schrödinger-type biharmonic operator.

Empathy with the discourse of political opposition is not a condition of the will, as one might think, but rather the necessary result of a complex web of devices and circumstances that complexify the political subject.Power, the body and discourse are the key elements that underlie the mechanics of political opposition in an attempt to train the naïve and uncritical subject necessary to swell a contradictory, belligerent collective in perpetuity. A power that occurs insofar as it is granted and perceived by the other in a reciprocal and divergent relationship. A body that is embodied as a consequence of a social scaffolding in constant mutability, but in accordance with the reality that gives rise to it. An intentional and sophistic discourse in search of the conformation of a homogenised social mass that assimilates this rhetoric as a paradigm. A whole permanent dynamic of instruction so that the common citizen, naïve and without a dialectical approach to everyday life, ends up becoming a staunch, violent and belligerent opponent who, in turn, strengthens a polarised, rivalrous and constantly socially threatening mode of nationhood.

The Spanish energy sector faces three main challenges: competitiveness (low-cost supply, especially to energy-intensive sectors), security of supply (through diversification of sources, and exploration and eventual exploitation of domestic resources) and growth, following heavy investment in infrastructure, in a context of stagnating demand. To better understand the challenges, several drivers or contextual factors are analysed: global energy markets, trends in the global economy, decarbonisation, shale gas revolution in the USA, Energy Union in the EU, Energy Transition in Germany, distributed generation and transport. On the basis of the above, the paper concludes with some reflections and suggestions.

The Lubilanji 1 hydroelectric power station comprises 4 turbo-alternator units. As the sole power station for the town of Mbujimayi, these machines are subject to a non-standard operating regime, with enormous consequences for the various power transmission components. Already at turbine level, hydraulic energy must be transmitted to the turbine components, which develop mechanical energy that is sent to the turbines to produce electrical energy. Bearings are used in all these transmissions, and are subjected to a wide range of stresses. In this book, we examine the causes of bearing overheating, and propose remedies to stabilize the productivity of these machines.

Public and private universities and scientific research centres mostly train specialists with advanced technical and scientific knowledge. The basic question, however, is: What for? Is it just to take care of the profits of the economic system, or also and above all, for LIFE? Yes, we need competent professionals to fit into today's society and to enable its survival and prosperity, as well as its sustainability. However, the main concern, which currently predominates almost exclusively, is: How to do? It needs to be broadened to Why do? What to do? For whom to do? A new ingredient needs to come into play: Human Life, to answer the essential question: Why do we live? Just to be ingredients of this system and thus plunge into the carousel of an unhealthy consumerism, which today suffocates us. Or will the Mission of the Human Being be broader and deeper? For example, to develop our Inner Potentialities, i.e. the attributes that were given to us by the Creator, in order to make today's Society a better one. The question is: What Ideals will we pass on to future generations?

Unfortunately, we live in a century in which we are all prone to cancer. By taking a look, we will find out. By examining different aspects of life, we come to a bitter truth. One of these aspects is our eating habits. Nutrition now plays an important role in a variety of diseases. We all remember that people used to get sick less and head to the hospital a long time ago, but now it is time to head to the camps full of patients. Has anyone ever asked why the reason for all these deaths is the cause of all these diseases? The truth is that we have to think a bit about what we eat, the growing trend of fast food, the excessive use of additives, the introduction of sausages and others, all together to witness the death of our loved ones.

Criminal cassation as an extraordinary remedy in the Colombian legal system shows a high trend in terms of the inadmissibility of claims; although no official statistics have currently been compiled in this regard, as those that are offered are limited to the prosperity or lack thereof with respect to the appeal once it has been admitted, it is relevant to analyse the possible cognitive and conceptual shortcomings that could be the cause of this empirically observed assumption. It is therefore proposed to study the basic principles of criminal cassation in Colombia, considering that the technical deficiency found in the construction of complete legal propositions in these proceedings finds its main substrate in the failure to observe them at the time of the formulation and substantiation of the claims, causing the loss of this extraordinary opportunity for substantive defence.
