One of the most important aspects in Preventive Medicine is the surveillance of food habits of a population. The significant role of swine in the transmission of toxoplasmosis has been demonstrated, so it is important to consider the epidemiological role in a regional way. In the Province of Santa Fe, Argentina, almost 38% of reactors have been reported in swine for consumption. The objective of this work was to carry out a serological survey in 178 animals destined for consumption, by means of the serological techniques Indirect Hemoagglutination (HAI) and Enzyme Linked Immunoassay (ELISA). The total prevalence found between both tests was 21.9%. An association was demonstrated in the light capons category (p = 0.05) and sex (p = 0.4443). Likewise, the results showed a highly significant relationship between weight/age with the seropositivity index (p < 0.0001 with a discriminatory capacity of 73% of the establishments. It is important to review the hygienic-sanitary situation of food animals.

The present work is oriented to the chemical analysis of the seeds of Anadenathera peregrina or Piptadenia peregrina, commonly known as Yopo among the Amerindian communities and peoples of Southern Venezuela, specifically in Amazonas, and to determine its implications in Forensic Toxicology. Dimethyltryptamine, an alkaloid with hallucinogenic properties, was obtained, generating a pattern to be able to make comparisons in the field of Forensic Toxicology with blood samples and gastric content, through analytical methodologies such as ultraviolet spectrophotometry and thin layer chromatography. The result of the analysis is cold and pragmatic, not reflecting the administrative processes overcome to obtain the forensic samples, leaving a full experience of knowledge related to Forensic Medicine, Forensic Toxicology, Physical and Social Anthropology, Amazonian indigenous Cosmogony. Hoping that the reader will find in this writing a path that will guide him to his goals.

The estimation of cardiovascular risk is a priority in clinical prevention guidelines. Alterations in lipoprotein metabolism represent about 50% of the population's attributable risk for the development of cardiovascular disease. This health alarm has generated an almost unanimous consensus among most epidemiologists and clinicians that coronary risk assessment based exclusively on low-density lipoprotein cholesterol C-LDL is not optimal. In an attempt to improve the prediction of cardiovascular disease, the use of atherogenic indices or ratios is chosen because they can provide information on risk factors that are difficult to quantify by classical systematic analyses, becoming a better predictor of the reflection of the clinical and metabolic interactions of lipid fractions.

In recent years, studies on Pentecostalism have experienced an accelerated boom and there has been an important number of works dealing with different aspects of this Christian tradition. The diversity and complexity of Latin American Pentecostalism is beginning to demand more particular and geographically delimited studies, from which it is possible to gain an understanding of aspects of this spirituality that have not been addressed by more general studies. The intention of these essays is to make a contribution to the understanding of very important topics of Pentecostalism and of any other religious expression: spatiality and representations.

This research was conducted to participate as a speaker at the II Congress organized by the Chilean Association of Popular Music Studies, in collaboration with the Alberto Hurtado University and the University of Art and Social Sciences. In Santiago de Chile from January 8 to 11, 2014. When we approach content regarding the era of the military dictatorship in Chile, we turn to historiography that teaches it from a perspective stripped of humanity, as if the facts had occurred only on paper. As a teacher of History and Social Sciences, I believe it is essential to achieve a contextualization of the period from the human feelings materialized in the classroom. At the moment of analyzing the power of history from the sung word, we manage to unveil senses, meanings, from the exploration of a place within the human feelings, taking into account that the contextualization of the metaphor denounces us a territory of revelations that hope to harmonize feelings to remake a close history. Geographical analysis of Canto Nuevo where the music, the lyrics and the history of 1978 to 1990 in Chile are in dialogue.

This guide, Volume 2, entitled Le Manuel des compétences transférées aux collectivités territoriales, attempts to highlight the basis of the missions and responsibilities of local authorities. It not only reviews the typology of transferred powers, but also presents the implementation mechanism. This is a logical, legal, human and financial framework, defined in part by the General Code of Local Authorities and other legal and regulatory texts. The decentralization system requires strong institutions and high-quality human resources. It is for this reason that we must constantly raise the alarm on the issue of professional training, in order to find lasting solutions.

In the 1990s, Brazil established democratic regulations to guarantee the rights of children and adolescents. It instituted a system for managing offences committed by adolescents, combining accountability with the prevalence of pedagogical perspectives, namely socio-educational measures. This work analyses the feasibility of conflict mediation processes between adolescents serving a socio-educational measure of deprivation of liberty. The data presented resulted from a case study carried out in an institution in the Federal District, in the Centre-West region of Brazil. The work includes: identifying the typology of conflicts between peers and the institutional mechanisms used in response to the conflict; characterising the sample of the population served; and the subjects' perception of the feasibility of applying mediation. The results of the research point to the institution's tendency towards conflict management based on isolation as a limit. In this context, the potential of mediation lies in engendering alternative courses of action capable of introducing new learning and changing the scale of conflicts.

Pediatrics and Neonatology have changed profoundly in recent years. The very concept of Pediatrics and Neonatology has evolved in parallel to the changes in the professional practice, where aspects related to preventive medicine are becoming more and more important. Technological development has allowed the incorporation of new responsibilities, functions and new challenges. This book offers the reader a brief and clear vision of the different aspects of Pediatrics. The development of neonatology and the incorporation of neurodevelopmental care, the evaluation of the cognitive and motor development of the infant or the problems related to puberty or adolescence are some of the aspects raised, of interest to complete the training in Health Sciences.

The book deals with "Solid Waste Management in the Municipality of Montepuez: an Evaluation of Current Management", which falls within the line of research entitled waste management. The research was carried out to complete the Master's programme and has the following objective: To assess the effectiveness of the current forms of solid waste management in the municipality of Montepuez, given that it affects the effectiveness of the coverage of solid waste collection services. Given this situation, the following question arises: To what extent can solid waste management guarantee sustainability? With the studies carried out, new sustainable forms of solid waste management can be adopted, guaranteeing the maximisation of reuse and recycling, thereby reducing environmental impacts and guaranteeing effective initial and final disposal.

A common element that identifies the successful professional in the XXI century is the use of new information and communication technologies that lead us to new frontiers in the development of society, especially in the processes of new forms of production, which undoubtedly implies the enhancement of research skills that we need to strengthen and make them part of the culture of life. The search for new ways of seeing, observing and discovering will make the new professional in the distinctive aspect that with the use of new technologies, will become the constant to discover, so that the formation of research skills from the classroom to the labor and professional field becomes a relevant need and inevitably required in any curriculum design.This series "Windows of scientific research", tries to respond to the questions that we are presented at the time of approaching the research processes in any context: academic, organizational, social, showing through its different volumes the understanding of a pleasant and easy way the conduction of these moments, adapting according to the needs of the students.

It is urgent to configure new ways of teaching based on the knowledge of the Other, considered inferior, and not only on modern/colonial pedagogy, considered superior. We suggest decolonizing the sciences of education through Altersofía and Hacer Decolonial. We assume Altersofia as an "other" way of educating, for the detachment of modern/colonial pedagogy. We analyze what an "other" didactics is for. We characterize the decolonial educational process as a decolonizing formative process, to disobey the USA-eurocentric didactics, through actions and learning traces: communal contemplation, alterative conversation and configurative reflection, which characterize the decolonial educational vocation.

The statistics of the National Statistics Institute (INE) on crimes of sexual assault and abuse provide an overview of the incidence and characteristics of these criminal offenses in Spain. According to INE data, in 2020, 13,811 complaints were registered for crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity, of which 2,045 were for sexual assaults with penetration and 11,766 for other types of sexual abuse. This research sought to obtain statistical information on the behavior of sexual aggressions and abuses of persons charged and convicted in Spain. Sexual aggressions and abuses were analyzed through a characterization of the subjects, a shapiro Wilk test, ANOVA and confidence limits were found and it was found that the sentences for sexual aggressions will be between 18.9 and 38.2 and the sentences for sexual abuses will be between 28.6 and 43.8 and according to the organic law 10/2022 the total sentences for sexual aggressions will be between 50.1 and 79.6 by December 31, 2023.

The western/eurocentric/colonial way of structuring research projects and undergraduate, master's and doctoral theses, in rigid, schematic and dogmatic components, does not account for the flow and spontaneity of the process of configuration of situated and contextualized knowledge and knowledges. In this sense, it is urgent to get rid of colonial notions such as: theoretical framework, title of the thesis, table of contents, problem statement, research justification, research background, epistemological paradigm, methodology and bibliographical references. In other words, we must feel/think/do with our own notions and not import Eurocentric categories. We must go beyond the traditional way of structuring such processes and documents.

Water reuse is becoming increasingly important in the context of sustainable construction. Currently, the increase in demand and decrease in the supply of quality water is one of the problems that has been affecting large urban populations in particular. In this context, there is a need to encourage practices, programmes and policies that help conserve water. Water reuse is a strategic activity and an important tool in the integrated management of water resources. In view of the above, there is the possibility of using sanitary wastewater for irrigation purposes. The general aim of this work was to develop an ecological system for the treatment and agricultural use of sanitary wastewater in the semi-arid region of Rio Grande do Sul, in order to mitigate the possible environmental impacts caused. It consists of a septic tank with two chambers, a constructed flooded system with elephant grass as the extractor plant and a solar reactor.

The university educational institution has the challenge, among others, of training researchers capable of identifying the problems of their professional reality and solving them using the scientific method. To this end, it has to apply an integrating system that links undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as irreplaceable elements of research training. The postgraduate master's programme has to be innovative in its curricular proposals and actions in order to achieve this challenge. In the master's degree in Didactics of the natural sciences, from the course on Didactics of Chemistry in the renewal of science education, the process is aimed at the student investigating the educational reality of the school, evidenced in the teaching and learning of Chemistry with the didactic resources of this science and it is precisely in this line of scientific enquiry, that this work accompanies a theoretical and practical study in this regard and a description of its results.

This book is aimed at disseminating the use of the vinegar eel (Turbatrix aceti) as live food for larvae of aquatic species of productive interest. It is aimed at small producers, artisans or aquarists who wish to implement feeding or supplementation alternatives for their fish larvae, through the compilation of basic information on the species and the production experience carried out at the Ornamental Fish Ichthyology Laboratory of the National University of Colombia - Bogotá Branch by means of the standardization of production and collection protocols.

The province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands is the southernmost province of Argentina. Its capital is the city of Ushuaia, also known as the southernmost city in the world. The secondary school presents challenges such as low levels of promotion, overage, repetition and dropout. With this in mind, it is important to think about programmes to improve teaching, such as the Science Fair Programme. In relation to science teaching in Tierra del Fuego, it is worth asking how they conceive the study of science-related subjects; what is the link they establish between the study of science and the preservation of the environment and the care of their health; how do they perceive science classes in relation to their interest in studying; what is their opinion about science fairs and their participation in a school investigation to be exhibited at the science fair; and what is their opinion about science fairs and their participation in a school investigation to be exhibited at the science fair. These are the questions that motivate us to carry out this research in order to obtain concrete data that will allow us to make decisions in the future on the basis of certainty about what is happening.

This work was based on my experience as an employee in a criminal court, where direct contact with the victim of crimes involving gender violence led me to study this problem and the position of legislation and judicial authorities in the face of it. My focus was on the women who suffer from this scourge and the consideration given to them in the decision within the judicial process.

These days, over 86% of companies claim to have a PMO (Project Management Officer), a true player in the company's transformation, a project coordinator and facilitator, even if their objectives and function are not always well understood, not to mention the thousands of start-ups springing up all over the world and in all sectors of activity. This study analyses the relationship between teacher evasion in the Rondônia state network and the National Teachers' Floor Law, Law 11.738/2008, from 2008 to 2012. Its analysis also includes the relationship between other public policies that (undervalue) teachers' work and the material conditions in which teachers find themselves. The aim is to understand the relationship between teacher dropout rates and Law 11.738/2008. This objective is followed by other specific objectives: i) To discuss the importance of work as an educational principle and the process of valuing and making precarious the work of teachers; ii) To identify and analyse historically the public policies for valuing professionalism in Brazilian education and their materialisation in the form of salaries, careers and teacher training; iii) To survey teacher dropout rates after the implementation of Law 11. 738/2008 in Rondônia, identifying the profile of the teacher and the schools where this phenomenon occurs and; iv) identifying the links between teacher evasion and the interests of capital today.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, disabling disease that affects between 0.33 and 1% of the world's population. Ninety percent of RA patients complain of fatigue.Several studies have shown that this symptom is at least as disabling as pain. Fatigue can be present regardless of the intensity of rheumatoid arthritis, and occurs in patients of all ages. Fatigue often leads to weariness and discouragement, and considerably impairs patients' quality of life. According to an ANDAR survey, this symptom, which is widespread and insufficiently taken into account by the medical profession, forces more than 50% of sufferers to reduce or give up certain activities.Fatigue is also a criterion that is not the stated aim of the therapeutic innovation that rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory rheumatic diseases have undergone with the advent of biotherapy. As a result, the impact of biotherapy on fatigue is rarely assessed.

The book presents a case study of the Brazilian Lodging Classification System SBClass, with research carried out at the Hotel Tijuco designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, located in Diamantina in the state of Minas Gerais. The topics covered were the development of the means of accommodation, its definition, history and classification, from the first reports of accommodation to the present day. The historical account helps in the approach to the classification system for accommodation facilities in Brazil and how this historical process helped in the construction of the SBClass. The research analyses the mandatory requirements of the Historic Hotel category, in the infrastructure section of the SBClass at Hotel Tijuco, and the difficulties in adapting the hotel to these requirements. It also looks at how SBClass certification can become a competitive advantage for the hotel, increasing its competitiveness in the hotel sector.

The main aim of this research is to present the results of observations made at an Early Childhood Education Centre in Campina Grande - PB. Our intention is to analyse how the educational practices developed in the Early Childhood Education classes take place, namely: nursery I, II and pre I. We realised that the work dynamics of the educators, the daily life of the school and whether the work instruments in these classes are in line with the expectations of the political/normative guidelines for Early Childhood Education. We used official documents on early childhood education as a theoretical basis, all of which point to extremely important issues in the daily life and routine of children in nursery schools. This research is a descriptive, qualitative analysis, in which data was collected using questionnaires structured according to the perspective of the need experienced during its stages. This research also seeks to study the concepts and data derived from theoretical references. Armed with these ideas, we got to know the school reality of the research subjects in order to ascertain this approach in the classroom through induction.

Digital technologies have had an impact on today's society, since they have enabled people to communicate quickly and interactively through their resources. These technologies are now important channels of information and communication; through them, information has circulated at an accelerated rate and is increasingly being used for various purposes, including educational purposes, as a teaching resource. Information mediation is an important task within a library, since it is through it that the link between librarian, information and user is made. It is understood that digital technologies in the context of the school library would bring a range of possibilities with regard to information mediation, since through them it becomes possible to access countless information sources and pedagogical practices, which could support the library's mission, functions and objectives for the community. With this in mind, the aim is to discuss the mediation of information in the school library using digital equipment, media and supports, including the internet, in dialogue with the possibilities and potential of each device.

Brazil is following the global trend of making manufacturers responsible for their post-consumer products, which can promote the internalisation of environmental costs in the development of products and packaging. In 2002, Brazil created the National Institute for Processing Empty Packaging (Inpev) for agrochemicals under the responsibility of the manufacturers. Inpev encourages the installation of empty packaging reception units and uses the principle of Reverse Logistics, which plans, operates and controls the flow and information corresponding to the return of packaging to the business cycle or to the production cycle through recycling. The system implemented has brought about environmental, social, economic, political and cultural changes in the disposal of empty pesticide packaging. Reverse logistics has proved to be an opportunity to develop the systematisation of waste flows and their reuse, inside or outside the production chain that generated them, contributing to a reduction in the use of natural resources and other environmental impacts, in order to promote sustainable development.

This text is intended to serve as support material - textbook - for the Course "History of Psychology", as part of the collection of Psychology Topics that will be made available. Its objective is to know the genesis of the different Schools of Psychology, taking into account their background, main representatives, the influence among them and the historical context, and their main contributions to the development of psychology as a science.It is intended to provide a frame of reference from which the interested person (e.g., psychology student, researcher or person with no knowledge in the area) can develop an integrative vision of psychological science and its main foundations. It offers elements to understand the processes that marked the emergence of psychology as an autonomous scientific discipline at the end of the 19th century and its developments in contemporary psychological thought.

At the crossroads between the general context of pauperisation of the 2000/2001 crisis, especially for the most marginalised sectors, and the increase in the production of consumer goods leading to an increase in waste, the figure of the cartonero emerged. Although cartoning is one of the most evident and visible social injustices of post-crisis 2001 Argentina, it represented an alternative and form of work for groups of informal workers from sectors with low possibilities of inclusion within the formal system, who began to scavenge rubbish bins as a means of subsistence. Cartoning differs from waste collection in that it is an unplanned, unpaid, individual enterprise that earns modest wages. This phenomenon, which has experienced different periods of growth and remission in Buenos Aires since the end of the last century, has become consolidated as a social and environmental management novelty. Its forms of organisation imply different modalities of self-management, leadership, communication, articulations with power and the community.

At first glance, the hypothesis raised in this investigation seems disconnected from dogma, since historical and cultural heritage destroyed by the action of time seems to be a legal nothing. The provisions described in articles 62 to 65 of the Environmental Crimes Law protect offences against urban planning and historical heritage. Drawing a parallel, while Italy has a Cultural Heritage and Landscape Code, the Brazilian legislator has reserved only four (4) provisions for the criminal protection of this true Brazilian multicultural treasure. So the central questions guiding the discussion are: Is this enough? Is criminal law in environmental matters expanding? Is there a new form of criminality arising from the so-called risk society? Who will be held criminally responsible for the Mariana and Brumadinho tragedies? What are the legal effects when a listed public asset is destroyed by the action of time (non facere)? If studied in more depth, improper omission offences could help answer all these questions.
