Brazil, the world leader in leather exports, processes around 42 million hides every year (MARTINES et al., 2010). The questionnaire was made up of the following items: Length of time the tannery has been in existence; Position of the respondent to the questionnaire in the tannery; Level of education; Sex; Age; Marital status; Number of children; Existence of minor helpers; Leather treatment procedure; Main tools used in leather treatment; Substances used throughout the leather treatment process; Use of any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); Existence of treatment of effluents generated in leather treatment; Destination of leather waste; Presence of accidents involving tannery employees; Knowledge of health education and promotion and Detection of occupational diseases.

The investigation into the logbook and its influence has provided constructive directions that dialogue with the thoughts of several renowned educators presented in this research. The approach to reading and writing as tools and thinking about their importance in initial teacher training are the main problems of this study. I'd like to mention that this research was one of the experiences I had at university, where the writing and reading activities recounted the memories of previous lessons. The analytical method used was qualitative research, which was exploratory in nature, with a descriptive and individual questionnaire as the analytical tool. Based on this methodological approach, we can say that the logbook represents an edifying resource, which enables reflection on teaching practice, stimuli in the writing process, increased professional development and learning possibilities. This book is aimed at all undergraduate students, teachers in continuing education, professionals in the field of education and people who, in some way, work in the teaching profession.

The physicochemical and microbiological analyses were carried out on the fresh juice, the juice treated by microwave irradiation and also the industrially treated juice, so that there would be a significant number of comparisons. Firstly, the normality of the data was checked for the following variables: ºBrix, pH, colour, turbidity and log of bacteria (pour). Statistical analyses were not possible for the analyses of POL, AR, ART and alcohol content, which were carried out in the laboratories of Usina Coruripe. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test with Lilliefors correction was carried out, which determined that none of the variables had a normal distribution. Levene's test was used to analyse the homogeneity of variance. The variables did not show homogeneity of variance, making it necessary to use the non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test. I hope that the results will help other research in the area of technological innovation that could optimise sugar and ethanol production processes, making production more cost-effective and leading to an increase in biofuel production.

Cardiovascular diseases are the cause of more than 1.9 million deaths every year in Europe, and exercise has been shown to reduce cardiac mortality. High-intensity training improves cardiovascular function and is safe and effective in cardiac patients. Therefore, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) has been shown to offer various cardiovascular adaptations, which are extremely important for improving the quality of life of patients affected by a cardiac event. It has also been shown to be a very safe and effective intervention model, with excellent adherence on the part of individuals due to its short session duration.

The Antímano parish of the Libertador Municipality of the Capital District, located southwest of Caracas, presents a great predominance of popular urban settlements in its mountainous areas and in the vicinity of the Guaire River, which makes it a priority in the process of awarding land ownership to the untitled peasants who have been living in the neighborhoods for several decades. From there arises the need to carry out a rigorous documentary and cartographic study of the real estate property, since there is a lack of basic information and even more, there are no systematic historical and geographic studies, which is partly due to the lack of a legal cadastre, which is the responsibility of the Cadastre Directorate of the Municipality Libertador of the Capital District, as stated in the Law of Geography, Cartography and National Cadastre dated July 28, 2000 (Official Gazette No. 37.002), the Technical Norms for the Formation and Conservation of the National Cadastre dated June 10, 2002 (Official Gazette No. 5,590 Extraordinary) and the Municipal Cadastre Ordinance dated August 30, 2012, (Municipal Gazette Extra No. 3,570-11).

The book presents a strategy for the training of the tutors of the pedagogical practice in the work training at the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences (ISCED) in the province of Huambo - Angola, which responds to the insufficiencies detected during the work training of the fifth year students of the Mathematics Career. Through the application of empirical methods it was possible to identify that one of the fundamental causes of these insufficiencies is given by the lack of preparation of the teachers who assume the role of tutors during this stage to guide, accompany and evaluate the students in training, the proposal was submitted to the criteria of experts and was valued as pertinent and feasible, which allows these students to appropriate the knowledge and skills necessary to face this work in the new context in which Education in Angola is developed.

Environmental sanitation in Brazil is still inadequate and Mossoró-RN is an example of this. This research aims to diagnose the environmental sanitation conditions of the Barrocas neighbourhood in Mossoró, specifically with regard to water supply, solid waste disposal, public environmental management and the relationship between water quality and health. To this end, bibliographical and documentary research was carried out and data was collected in the field from residents using questionnaires. It was found that the socio-environmental conditions of the residents of that neighbourhood are precarious. The environmental aspects considered most important by the population are: lack of basic sanitation, lack of water supply and poor health, as well as illnesses resulting from these problems. The aim of this research is to provide public policies in the area of environmental management for the population of this neighbourhood.

Knowledge of the possible laboratory alterations caused by exercise is of great importance, especially in dogs that are used in jobs that cause physical strain. The aim of this study was to carry out a laboratory assessment of dogs undergoing exercise tests at different intensities. Heart rate (HR) and rectal temperature (RT) were assessed before exercise, immediately after and 30 minutes after exercise. For the laboratory analysis, complete blood count, total plasma protein, platelet count, serum urea, creatinine, total serum protein, albumin, aspartate aminotransferase activity, creatine kinase and plasma glucose and lactate were assessed at different times, as well as oxidative stress indices using plasma malondialdehyde (MDA) and erythrocyte reduced glutathione (GSH) and ischaemia using ischaemia-modified albumin. Statistical differences were found for HR and RR, as well as erythrocyte count, haemoglobin, haematocrit, platelets, creatinine and glucose levels. The assessment of oxidative stress and the tissue ischaemia marker also varied.

Occupational risks have been jeopardising the health of health professionals for years. Among the areas where nursing professionals work, Intensive Care Units (ICUs) are considered unhealthy places with high occupational health risks. Objective. Considering this reality, this study sought to describe the risks to which nursing professionals working in ICUs are exposed, as presented in the literature published over the last ten years. Method. A literature review was conducted using the LILACS, BDENF, MEDLINE and ProQuest databases, covering publications from 2010 to 2017 and the descriptors: occupational risks, nursing and intensive care units. Results. Applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria resulted in 12 articles. The results indicated ergonomic, biological and psychosocial risks present in the work routine of the nursing team, leading to changes in the health standards of these professionals. The studies analysed described the need for educational measures to minimise the risks to workers in the workplace.

The aim of this work is to present a solution for home automation, aimed at the user's communication with the automation centre through voice commands, where the system can carry out domestic tasks in response to what has been said and requested by the user. Combined with the user's wishes and needs, this solution can be added to many tasks, with the main focus of being a great facilitator of the user's daily life, bringing comfort, safety and sustainability to the home environment. Using the latest technology and a good cost/benefit ratio. All these characteristics are considered to be the main attractions for investments in home automation.

The thermal energy supplied to agricultural tractors comes from a cyclical, thermodynamic process in which heat energy is transformed into mechanical energy. In this transformation and transfer of energy within the combustion chamber of an engine, certain factors (air + fuel) are taken into account so that the equation of consumption and performance equals low fuel costs, a result that is satisfactory from both an economic and environmental point of view. In order for this result to be realised in the producer's pocket and in the environment, the combustion process in diesel engines must be taken into account, especially the formation of the intake volume of oxidising air through the filtration system, and the conduction of air into the engine. This intake can be greatly influenced if there is an obstruction in the air filter element, for example, which will jeopardise the combustion process, plus, of course, the load conditions under which the tractor is operating. In view of the above, this study was carried out with the aim of evaluating energy performance and gas emissions at different drawbar loads and air intake flow rates in a diesel engine of an agricultural tractor.

The book presents a new type of dialectical knowledge and is thus of definite interest to scholars.

This book is the result of research carried out in municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, to help publicise the symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes, detect possible cases early in communities and strengthen perseverance in the treatment of those with the disease. The project brought together three areas: social communication, mainly through social media; health education, through expert guidance on Type 1 Diabetes; and community work, as communities came together to discuss issues relating to the disease, identify challenges and point out possible solutions. The interaction with young patients was extremely important for them to understand the need to follow the treatment correctly. The changes seen in the communities reached by the prophet became visible in the very action of the communities in continuing to bring the issue up for debate, even after the research was completed. The project became known as "DiabeteStation" and reached people in Brazil and abroad through its aim of bringing safe and reliable information about Type 1 Diabetes.

The monograph is devoted to a very painful issue of our time - the problem of the Aral Sea, which is considered lost forever. It describes the history of the Aral Sea drying up as a result of complete water diversion from the Amu Darya and Syr Darya river basins for the development of cotton growing to provide raw materials for the cotton industry in Russia. Irrigation of cotton fields by traditional methods led to land salinization. Consequences of cotton monoculture are outlined: lopsided development of Central Asian republics, including lagging behind in the development of industry, including textile industry. Ecological consequences are especially noted, the main among which is complete drying up of the Aral Sea and accumulation of more than 10 billion tons of salts in its place and their transfer by wind to the surrounding territories up to 500 km and more. On the basis of hydrological observation data, annual inflow of a large volume of salts to irrigated fields has been determined, intensifying their salinization. To prevent salinization, the author considers it necessary to accelerate the transfer of the entire area of crop production to drip irrigation according to the relevant Decree of the President of Uzbekistan Sh. M. Mirziyoyev within 1-3 years.

The economic, social and political transformations that took place in the last years of the 20th century in Brazil, stemming from a series of governmental and global measures and actions, attracted foreign investment. Through increased industrialisation, made possible by foreign direct investments (FDIs), it is assumed that the population is consuming more, which may be due to the fact that there is more money and opportunities on the market, and therefore more capital available for investment. Based on these findings, we sought to ascertain whether the industrial segments that most favoured the evolution of the HDI and GDP in Brazil between 1990 and 2010 are similar or different.

This book covers the basic areas for the understanding of Animal Production Systems, because it is compact, without being simplistic, and addresses the definitions and basic concepts necessary for the understanding of them. The book will allow the reader to easily understand a system; thus, for example, the beautiful characterization of beef cattle production systems, which is referred to in this book, would take several years for those who do not have the opportunity to read it to understand this type of systems. In short, the text is perfectly organized, very well illustrated, the concepts illustrated with simple examples, easy to grasp. Therefore, I am certain that this book will be useful for the student, the practicing professional, producers and industrialists interested in the understanding of Animal Production Systems.

The first trace of cultural content in newspapers occurred simultaneously with their creation. From the very beginning there was a section dedicated to culture; however, it did not have the same weight as the political or economic sections. Thus, at some point in history, the specialized sections were detached from the pages of newspapers as such to become part of a specific section called supplement. Rivera (1995) refers to several of the European cultural supplements that played a fundamental role in the creation of the concept of cultural journalism, such as The Times Literary Supplement, which opened a specialized publication with the objective of publishing bibliographic reviews in a broader manner; Nouvelle Revue Francaise, of 1908, and La Revista de Occidente, of Madrid.

Production spaces are places that can intervene in the very nature of the products that are developed in them. The industrial revolution offered us a large-scale production model and, with it, the construction of large architectural structures capable of providing such performance. The realisation that there can be an interdependence and even a certain promiscuity between the 'generated' product and its place of creation/production makes it possible to take a theoretical approach to a product or set of products, taking as a starting point the analysis of its place of production. This type of approach applies to any type of product, which is why artistic production itself is also incorporated into this scheme and direction of thought. The artistic object/product, like any other, is endowed with a set of characteristics that relate to the activity from which it comes, which gives it a certain status within the social and cultural sphere.

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate different policies aimed at managing parking demand in private universities in southern Cali. The purpose is to mitigate the external effects generated by the indiscriminate use of cars. For this purpose, stochastic modeling based on discrete choices will be carried out to evaluate the elasticity of demand associated with the use of parking. The proposal also seeks to identify possible alternative solutions to reduce the number of vehicles on the roads, thus reducing vehicular congestion in the south of the city, as well as environmental pollution, travel times of users and parking demand at universities.

Prospective longitudinal descriptive observational study, conducted at the "Juan Manuel Márquez" Pediatric Hospital from January 1995 to December 2017. A prospective longitudinal descriptive observational study was performed. All patients (N) under 1 year of age (infants) who were treated in the Oncopediatrics service in conjunction with the Surgery Service, with Neuroblastoma diagnosis, were studied. We worked with the variables age, sex, location of the lesion, initial symptoms, presence of metastasis, access route to sample collection for definitive histological study, extent of surgical treatment, complications and mortality.

As a result of a diffuse inflammatory process of the brain substance there are rough neurological complications, there is a delay in the rate of development of functional brain systems that provide such higher brain functions as memory, attention, thinking and other types of higher mental activity. Cognitive processes underlie the mastery of school skills: reading, writing, counting and others. Violation of higher brain functions leads to a decrease in learning motivation, deformation of interpersonal relationships, and later social and labor maladaptation.
