This paper aims to monetarily value the cost of areas impacted by deforestation in the municipality of Rorainópolis located in the south of the State of Roraima/Brazil. The method used for this purpose is the Opportunity Cost, given its usefulness to estimate the income sacrificed in terms of economic activities restricted by environmental protection activities, or in unused deforested areas. The opportunity cost was considered to be the areas that are in disuse, i.e. areas that are being deforested, without, however, reflecting a use of agricultural production. The calculation used in this work considered that the annual opportunity cost of deforestation in the municipality was R$ 31,073,415 million, which shows a signalling for investments that encourage production in disused areas.

This book aims to highlight the contribution of commercial food production to local development in the Divo department. This work required a methodology combining several techniques, such as documentary research, observation and interviews.It is by proceeding in this way that this study was able to present results and make analyses on the link between commercial food production and local development in Divo. The approach adopted led to the following conclusions: Divo department benefits from favorable physical conditions that regulate cultivation and enable the influx of farmers. Moreover, the State's policy in favor of food-producing agriculture has had an impact on the orientation and crowning of all activities linked to commercial food production, through its supervisory structures. Thanks to the income it generates, commercial food production is a driving force behind the modification and transformation of the living conditions and environment of the local population.

Marital infidelity is present in many marriages and can have a strong impact on the couple, from feelings of anxiety to symptoms of stress. Clinical work and dialogue with couples show that marital infidelity arises as a result of several factors related to the dynamics of the couple. However, marital satisfaction is multifactorial, related to the personality of the subjects, extrafamilial relationships, communication within the relationship, the way conflicts are created and managed. This book proposes to address not only the spouse who practices infidelity to the marital relationship, but the couple itself. It is hoped to offer the reader, through this literature review, a profile composed of some characteristics of couples, who have incurred in acts of marital infidelity. Concrete clinical cases discussed and approached within the systemic approach will be presented, as well as a case study of the wife who practiced marital infidelity, in order to realise that cases of infidelity in contemporary times are no different from those that occurred in the 1990s, a period demonstrated in clinical reports.

This book focuses on the study of the collegiate judgment for crimes committed by criminal organisations, highlighting the importance of this collegiate with its grounds. The emergence of law 12.694/2012 has clarified some old doubts, such as the definition of criminal organisation and its characterisation as a crime. However, what stands out most is that the new law allows collegiate judgment for crimes committed by criminal organisations. The main objective is to develop a study to improve knowledge about the functioning of the collegiate trial for crimes committed by criminal organisations, according to Law 12.694/2012. The research has as method the qualitative form, using legislation, articles, theses and dissertations published, referring to the proposed theme, analysing its main topics and more specific study to Law 12,694 of 2012.

Environmental education makes an effective contribution to the promotion of sustainable development for both present and future generations. Despite national and international efforts to promote environmental education, the objectives do not seem to be being achieved, given the anthropogenic threats that continue to exacerbate environmental degradation. Improving existing educational methods is essential if we are to build an eco-citizen society.The aim of this study was to contribute to the acquisition of sustainable environmental behaviour in primary school pupils, based on teaching methods applied to environmental education.A survey of pupils, teachers and national education officials, together with analyses of teaching content, showed that the development of green spaces in schools effectively encourages children to acquire sustainable environmental behaviour.

The toxic nature of cadmium (Cd) is well established, and its harmful effects on the reproductive system have been widely documented. In addition, numerous studies have described the trace element zinc (Zn) as an antagonist of the toxic metal in vivo and in vitro. In the present work, we planned to study the interactions between Cd and Zn at the level of female reproductive function in the zebrafish Danio rerio. The aim of this study was to highlight the toxic effects of Cd and the protection that can be provided by Zn supplementation, as well as to determine the mechanisms likely to be involved in these effects. We were therefore interested in studying, at the organismal, tissue and molecular levels, the effects of Cd and Zn on the ovarian function of adult female zebrafish. The interactions between these two elements were studied in terms of a number of weight parameters, the histological structure of certain tissues and oxidative status. We also studied the effects on tissue Cd fixation and Zn levels, as well as on membrane transporters of this trace element.

The Newpreço is a system that yielded many challenges for its execution, but obtained awards wherever it was presented. We went through Divinópolis-MG where we were champions of the 26 META - Specific Exhibition of Works and Applications of CEFET-MG Campus V. We also made a presentation of the same in Campinas-SP, at Unicamp where we could compete with several other very consistent works. We also made a presentation in Pitangui-MG where the residents were amazed by the proposal of the tool and were willing to use it. Anyway, the system is a success and I hope it can make life much easier for its users.

The Malvinas War has been approached inconsistently in Argentine cinema. War films have been resistant to being worked on by films about the Malvinas. The problems of articulation with the genre date back to the first films and continue to the present day. Through the analysis of Los chicos de la guerra (1984, Bebe Kamín), the short film Guarisove, los olvidados (1995, Bruno Stagnaro) and the film Iluminados por el fuego (2005, Tristán Bauer), a journey is made through the problems that fiction films had to deal with the conflict from the perspective of war cinema. At the same time, it delves into the problems of the documentary in looking at the war and seeks to trace common points with British cinema based on the film Tumbledown (1988, Richard Eyre). Argentinean cinema owes itself a film that portrays the Malvinas War from an epic perspective, appealing to the resources of the genre and challenging the assumptions of the present to honour the events that took place there with the power of cinema. The story of the soldiers in Malvinas is worthy of being told.

Raging waves. Roaring winds. Furious lightning. All kinds of bad weather. But also a window of heaven. A family united. A new hope. A new dawn. Yes, this is the story of a surviving old dreamer. His name: Noah. As a narrator-witness, amidst mysterious ramblings and prophecies, the biblical patriarch invites the reader to board his ark, meet his animals and closely follow the trajectory of humanity from its Creation to its ruin in the Great Flood. Inspired by the Judeo-Christian tradition, the biblical account of Genesis and the author's fertile artistic imagination, this work aims to blend, in an epic tone and with a moral background, ingenuity and art, fiction and reality, "with the pen of accuracy and the ink of heavenly inspiration" - in the words of Noah himself. After all, in this manuscript far away in time, the reader is faced with a simple but decisive message: Human History governed by the eternal cycle of birth, fall and return.

This work was carried out in the rural area of the municipality of Los Santos - Santander, with the following procedure: The cladodes were bagged for planting with the different substrates, previously mixed in the case of those containing composted chicken manure. A total of 120 bags were packed in the following manner: 30 bags of caliche soil with composted poultry manure, 30 with fertile soil with composted poultry manure, 30 with caliche soil without the addition of composted poultry manure and 30 with fertile soil without the addition of composted poultry manure. The cactus cladodes were then harvested and treated with Bordeaux broth and lime to prevent them from being attacked by insects and fungi, and left to mature for twelve days in the shade to prevent dehydration. On the same day of planting, the cladodes were divided into two and four parts to avoid dehydration.

Warehousing activities consume 10-40% of logistics costs and the most conventional of the verticalised systems, the pallet rack, corresponds to 30% less space occupied. Following the concept that time, space, handling and people are important costs in warehousing, the systems prove to be functional in doing so reduced. The applicability of these systems is evident when realising their great flexibility in adapting to the different operations conducted in the storage, not being restricted to only one standard, regardless of the nature of the company, the characteristics of the products and the arrangement of space. Thus, the functionality and applicability of these systems presuppose that there is a greater profitability of the capital invested by the company in the business, a fact arising from the possible reduction of storage costs and consequently of logistics costs.

The use of the Economática database in a specific statistical model for the pricing of assets of the São Paulo State Stock Exchange (Bovespa), in the period between 1998 and 2008, that is, a 10-year interval of analysis. Its objective is to define which sector of the Brazilian economy has the best long-term performance in order to make a buy/sell decision. The stocks used in the work were taken from the Bovespa index (Ibovespa), in order to avoid discussing companies with low liquidity and/or trading volume.

Hospitality is one of the tourism sectors that most negatively impacts the environment. Despite being one of the most important tourism sectors for the economy, generating jobs, income, contributing to local development, among others, the problems caused by this activity cannot be omitted. This book is the result of a case study carried out in the hotels of the Atlântica and Accor organisations located in the city of Manaus - Amazonas, addressing the subject in question. This work provides support for entrepreneurs and managers in the tourism sector, it is also aimed at researchers and academics of the tourism course who can use as references and expand the theme. In addition to sensitising tourists and the general public about these negative impacts and what can be done to avoid them and allow tourists to continue enjoying their holidays without pollution.

This book aims to disseminate research in the area of Applied Social Sciences with a multidisciplinary approach. The Executive Editorial Committee selected scientific articles produced by master's and doctoral professors with expertise in the topics covered. The strategy of many companies is to outsource any activity that is not part of their core business, does not represent high added value or for which they do not have complete control. Among the activities often outsourced are logistics operations: transport, handling, storage and customs clearance. Customs clearance operations are wrongly considered to be a purely logistical activity, whereas in fact they are administrative and legal in nature, taking place in relation to a government administration, and therefore having strategic implications for the company in question. In addition to this strategic issue, there is also the economic issue, as customs clearance operations do not require a great deal of investment to be carried out in-house, and spending with forwarding agents is relatively expensive.

The structure of this book presents, in Chapter one: "RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ELECTRONEGATIVITY AND COVALENT BINDINGS FROM AN ALGEBRAIC APPROACH", in chapter two "STOCHIOMETRY AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH CALCULUS: RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LIMITING REACTANT AND THE DERIVATIVE OF A FUNCTION", chapter three "RELATIONSHIP OF THE ION BOND WITH ALGEBRA", chapter four "METALLIC BINDINGS AND MOLECULAR GRAPHS", chapter five "THE USE OF CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES RELATED TO ALGEBRAIC CALCULATIONS FOR THE OBTAINING OF ENERGY", chapter six "MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR DETERMINING THE SEPARATION OF OXIDE FROM A METAL BY ELECTROLYSIS" and in chapter seven "RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN IONIC BONDING AND FIRST GRADE ECUATIONS". All these works show the intrinsic relationship of the subjects included as "Basic Sciences" in Engineering, in the case of the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, in the four Engineering Degrees taught at the Bachelor's level: Civil, Physics, Mechatronics and Renewable Energies.

In the context of the scientific-technical revolution and current knowledge, societies require specialists with a suitable preparation in the field of scientific research, for the mastery of strategies for the advantageous solution of problems of practice that implies their diagnosis, the determination of ways of solution and evaluation. This text deals with crucial aspects of this process: the problems of the practice of the socio-productive activity and their determination; the stages of the process of a research, the types of research; the design of an educational research and its correspondence with the selected paradigm; the techniques to analyze the problems and determine the solution strategies, their application and the evaluation of their results; the elaboration of the scientific report of the result of the research; the socialization and publication of the scientific results. The systems of scientific events; and the link between the scientific-research dimension of pedagogical work and the professionalization of teachers.

In the development of the gastronomic origin of the territory of western Paraná, he discovered that the main subject was the Guarani Indian who, due to the colonization suffered by the Iberian conquerors and consequently the refuge of the Jesuit priests, transformed his universe into missionary. Cultures and social adaptations and especially the formation of the territory designed the food culture of today. This work makes an approach to the geographical territorialities of the main cities of western Paraná, and presents the relationship of cultural hybridism suffered throughout history, and shows the importance of relations between the subjects involved in social conflicts and migrations, time for survival or economic reasons. Faced with the complexity that involves cultural geography, this work goes from the empirical presented by the municipal festivities to the brief report in the specific bibliography, reaching the actuality of the gastronomic origin and its representativeness of the territory of western Paraná.

Case report of a 12-year-old Shih Tzu dog treated at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Goiás, Jataí Region. The entire treatment was experienced during the residency, in which efforts were not measured to provide dignity and quality of life to the patient. This work was carried out as part of a final year engineering project at the Centre National de la Cartographie et de la Télédétection (National Centre for Cartography and Remote Sensing). It consists of establishing and developing a new automated method for extracting the road network from ortho-photos based on the multi-resolution segmentation technique and the vectorisation and draping of roads using a digital terrain model (DTM) and GIS tools. The result will be entered into a three-dimensional geographic database. Several tests were carried out to achieve this objective. The results were checked to ensure that the tasks carried out met the quality requirements and resulted in significant savings in terms of time, equipment and personnel, compared with the current manual digitisation and photogrammetric restitution.

I began this book in 2002, as part of a thesis in the Science and History of Religions. My aim is not to denounce dysfunctions or desecrate any form of belief, but to offer a reflection on a situation that is becoming increasingly distressing for Muslims in France. Whether they are practicing Muslims or not, far from the mosques, things need to change, to offer them a better understanding of this Islam of France, a better representation, far from any foreign domination. To combat Arabic-speaking Islam, Islamists have found a loophole to jump through: preach Islam in the language of Molière, correctly, without any accent. But all this is just poison in the honey...

Crime in Brazil is a factor of concern for managers and society. The lack of new policies that can invest and propose strategies that promote crime reduction for the security area are factors that increase insecurity, raise the level of stress of the population and the feeling of total social abandonment. The applicability of governmental interference actions to reduce crime in favour of the safety of the population, happens at the state and municipal level, even so, violence is a very high bill for the Public Sector, harmful to society and promotes chaos in the health of citizens. This study is based on the identification of factors related to violence with air temperature, as a conditioner of influence on the individual and that culminates in criminal actions. In the context of violent factors, it is faced with crimes against the person, and the current study analysed the correlation of crime data from the Municipality of São Mateus-ES with temperature. For the study we used the information extracted from the database of the Military Police of the Municipality of São Mateus-ES of crimes against the person occurred in the period between 2009 and 2013.

Agricultural insurance is a method of combating agricultural risks. Today, only 7% of Tunisian farmers take out insurance; this is due to both socio-economic and structural reasons linked to the adaptation of insurance products to the latent needs of farmers. The aim of this study is therefore to identify the factors that motivate cereal growers in the Medjez El Bab region to take out hail insurance. From a methodological point of view, the Logit model enabled us to highlight the significant variables that influence the farmer's choice of whether or not to be insured. The results show that credit, farm size, age, yield per hectare and weight of cereals positively affect the farmer's decision.

The positioning of victims in the international normative framework has meant that States Parties to the Inter-American Human Rights System have had to adopt public policies that guarantee and restore the rights of victims. Thus, the main purpose of this paper is to establish the most effective mechanism for comprehensive reparation for the victims of the internal armed conflict. Thus, firstly, the comprehensive reparation system contained in Law 1448 of 2011, which contains provisions in favour of the victims of the internal armed conflict, is described. Then, it explains the reparation system that makes up the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and determines its effectiveness in restoring the rights of the victims of the internal armed conflict. Finally, it identifies the substantial differences between the comprehensive reparation system contained in Law 1448 of 2011 and the system established by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

Adoption is a topic that requires much debate and reflection, due to its importance and presence in the social context. The existing adoption process has shortcomings to be improved, such as its clear slowness, which cause harmful consequences to children and adolescents sheltered waiting for a home and a family to welcome them. The intention, in fact, with this work, was to highlight this problem and promote a brief reflection on the strategies already adopted as means of solution, coming from the most varied social spheres, as well as to bring the question: family life, protected by the Federal Constitution of 1988, is being guaranteed in its entirety? In any case, it is worth noting that there was no forgetting the institutes of affective sponsorship or even the foster family. The focus, or rather, the central object, however, stopped at the detailed criticism of the application of the Statute of the Child and Adolescent, and the consequences such as late adoption.

The present work aimed to establish a relationship between the Internship Law of 2008 and the Consolidation of Labor Laws in Brazil. It was sought, through the multidisciplinary approach with History, Sociology and Law, to establish the construction of the rights of workers and trainees, from its beginnings until the promulgation of that Law.It was based on the hypothesis that the Internship Law (Law 11788/08), despite all the advances it represented, generated, even indirectly, the precariousness of jus labor standards. Thus, it was argued that, in addition to the intensification of inspection by educational institutions and the Ministry of Labor and Employment, it is necessary to rediscuss the jus philosophical bases that underlie the discourse of exploitation of intern labor.To this end, both bibliographic research and investigative analysis through online questionnaires were used, seeking to understand the representations and perceptions of these interns.

Since 2006, the phenomenon of parapolitics in Colombia was uncovered. In September 2007 Mario Uribe Escobar, cousin of then president Álvaro Uribe Vélez, was summoned to answer for his possible links with paramilitaries in Sucre, where he had great political influence. President Uribe was also involved in scandals and complaints with the Supreme Court of Justice and some of its magistrates, for the case of his cousin and for alleged statements of 'Tasmania', a paramilitary key witness in the process of the investigation of paramilitarism and parapolitics, which involved the president with support to these groups. In the same direction, there were the attempts to reform the Justice system and the co-optation of the State Control Organs by the Executive, which were a consequence of the presidential reelection in 2006, to avoid that high officials of his government were investigated, judged and condemned for their links with the paramilitaries. This co-optation and persecution of the Supreme Court of Justice effectively configured a hyper-presidential institutionality in the country.

Nowadays, for modern society it is increasingly important to opt for conduct aimed at avoiding the occurrence of damage, a reality that has not been alien to law in general, and to tort law in particular, and which has led to the increasing relevance of positions aimed at prevention and mitigation. Thus foreseeability, foresight and unforeseeability are concepts that have been used in liability trials as traditional manifestations of anticipation and determining factors in the limit between the attribution of liability or its release.

Anxiety is an organic and natural human response system. However, to a high degree, it can cause individual, social and affective damage, leading to psychological illness and hindering processes such as concentration, perception and memorisation. Evaluative situations, such as the entrance exam, can trigger these difficulties, as they are precisely a turbulent and anxiogenic period. Some methods help to reduce stress, such as the Mindfulness technique, which has been widely used in psychology studies today, testing its effectiveness in reducing stress and anxiety levels in various contexts. This research demonstrated the effectiveness of the method with pre-university students through the implementation of a basic eight-week programme. In addition to a decrease in anxiety levels, there was an improvement in participants' attention, concentration, well-being, resilience and study habits.
