Seasonality of Crimes Against the Person and Their Relation to Temperature

Crime in Brazil is a factor of concern for managers and society. The lack of new policies that can invest and propose strategies that promote crime reduction for the security area are factors that increase insecurity, raise the level of stress of the population and the feeling of total social abandonment. The applicability of governmental interference actions to reduce crime in favour of the safety of the population, happens at the state and municipal level, even so, violence is a very high bill for the Public Sector, harmful to society and promotes chaos in the health of citizens. This study is based on the identification of factors related to violence with air temperature, as a conditioner of influence on the individual and that culminates in criminal actions. In the context of violent factors, it is faced with crimes against the person, and the current study analysed the correlation of crime data from the Municipality of São Mateus-ES with temperature. For the study we used the information extracted from the database of the Military Police of the Municipality of São Mateus-ES of crimes against the person occurred in the period between 2009 and 2013.
