In South Kivu, low soil fertility is a major limitation to the productivity of the main food crops. Yields remain low, and the deficit is offset by imports. The aim of this study is to determine which of the solid and liquid forms of NPK is most effective in making the three major elements (NPK) available to the maize crop for optimum growth, and also to determine or specify for each form of fertilization; the dose(s) of NPK enabling the farmer to obtain the best yield and increase maize productivity in the province of South Kivu. The experiment was conducted in the field at INERA/Mulungu using a split plot design with 3 replicates. Treatments included two forms of NPK fertilizer (solid and liquid) and 4 increasing doses ( D1=40 kg NPK,D2=70 kg NPK,D3= 100 kg NPK and D4=130 kg NPK). Results showed that all agronomic parameters increased with increasing fertilizer dose, but that the solid form of NPK had a very positive influence on these parameters.

This book aims to analyse the citizenship relations generated in low-income purchasing situations by identifying the view of treatment received, thus evaluating impressions and feelings, and classifying citizenship relations. It is based on historical-sociological theories that claim that Brazil is a country with pre-capitalist reminiscences, having in its formation social values of stamental origin, thus being its citizens subject to differentiated stages of citizenship.

This study aimed to research scientific articles on the elderly and their carer from a psychogerontological perspective describing the summary of these studies. The method used was bibliographic research carried out in the online database Scielo in the last 5 years (2010 - 2015). The results found were 30 articles using the descriptors: care and elderly, caregiver and elderly and gerontology. The discussion of the articles showed that old age is more associated with negative than positive aspects and that the dependence of the elderly is a burden factor for the caregiver, needing to stimulate their autonomy. It also shows the level of stress that can generate in the interaction of the carer-elderly binomial. It is concluded that in the literature there is a vast collection on this subject, but it still deflates the unpreparedness of formal caregivers (professionals) and the disorientation of informal caregivers (family members, relatives, friends) predictors of stress and overload. Therapeutic groups are thus suggested to exchange knowledge and relieve the emotional tension of carers.

Gastric MALT (mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue) lymphoma is an extra-ganglionic non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, characterized by infiltration of the stomach mucosa by small B lymphocytes associated with lymphoepithelial lesions. It is a rare disease that affects middle-aged men in particular. The course is often indolent, with few symptoms, and may remain localized for a long time. The ethiopathogenic link between Helicobacter pylori infection and the development of gastric MALT lymphoma has been clearly established. In recent years, gastric MALT lymphoma has gained renewed interest due to a better understanding of its etiopathogenesis and improved management.

Prodigiosin, a natural red pigment, is an alkaloid produced by Serratia marcescens and belongs to the prodiginin family whose pigments have three cyclic pyrrolic rings in their chemical structure. This pigment has aroused, in recent years, a growing interest in the medical, pharmaceutical and industrial areas for its biological activities described as antimicrobial, antimalarial and antitumour. In recent years, the search for knowledge about the cytotoxic activity of prodigiosin has been intensified, with cytotoxic effects being described in tumour cell lines such as lung, colon, kidney, breast, and low toxicity observed in normal cells. However, the genotoxic effects of prodigiosin on cell lines still need to be better elucidated. Due to its antitumour potential and lack of evidence demonstrating genotoxic effects, this study aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of prodigiosin against pathogenic Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, its cytotoxic effects of the pigment on tumour cell lines, as well as the genotoxic effects.

In this work, the technical characteristics of the fibres cultivated in the settlements of Guamaré were evaluated. The coloured cotton seeds were donated from those existing in the EMBRAPA Cotton Germplasm Bank. The breeding programme sought to increase the strength, fineness, length and uniformity of the cotton fibres, as well as to stabilise the colour of the fibres in Topaz, Green and Brown shades and increase their productivity in the field. First, individual selections were carried out with seed progeny testing, and then the hybridisation method followed by genealogical selection to obtain variations in colour shades. The Green, Brown and Topaz varieties were produced, analysed and compared with the existing cotton in the region which is White cotton.

The increase in antibiotic resistance and the side effects of available antifungal drugs have increased the need to develop new and more effective antifungal agents. Among the compounds extracted from plants, flavonoids are considered as possible sources of novel therapeutic agents for fungal, bacterial and viral infections. The antifungal mechanism of action and toxicity of fisetin, a flavonoid with previously established antifungal activity towards Cryptococcus neoformans species complex and dermatophytes, were determined. The results presented show a favourable profile to lead to the study and development of this substance in the treatment of cryptococcosis and dermatophytosis.

Oncological pain is considered a public health problem in Brazil and in the rest of the world because the investment with hospital admissions of patients without improvement in their quality of life is high. Based on studies that show that one of the major problems to be faced by the health systems of the countries is related to the training of professionals to care for PODC, the present review study was proposed to synthesise the main nursing interventions to control cancer pain in order to fill the gap in assistance to PODC, offering dignified care. Regarding the importance of professional training for pain control, studies show that nursing professionals have little knowledge about patients' pain management, which contributes to patients experiencing pain unnecessarily. The misinformation of professionals involved in the care of patients with cancer pain can lead to ineffective pain assessment.

With the reuse of residual frying oil in the biodiesel production chain, there is a need to increasingly improve studies on improving the quality of this waste. The main chemical components of vegetable oil and animal fats are esters of fatty acids with glycerol.Fatty acid is a carboxylic acid (COOH) with an aliphatic chain. They are considered organic components, or in other words, they contain carbon and hydrogen in their molecules. These acids are produced when fats are broken down. They are poorly soluble in water (the longer the carbon chain, the lower the solubility), and can be used as energy by cells. They are classified as monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, or saturated. To increase the quality of this residue, studies are being carried out in the face of physical-chemical characterisation, seeking better quality of its use. The transesterification and esterification process is mentioned.

Usability is the ease of use of a computerised product. The easier it is to use, the greater the user's satisfaction and productivity. In the case of a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for Distance Education (DE), interaction between physically dispersed teachers and students must be guaranteed. Hence, it is necessary to verify how much usability and how much such environments effectively favour distance education. The focus of this research is to verify the usability problems of a specific software, in this case CANVAS, hence establishing what to evaluate, the importance of evaluating and when to evaluate, essential tasks in planning a usability inspection. The objective was to develop guidelines for usability inspection in VLE, having as methodological basis the principles and heuristics of usability already established by Nielsen. The systematised guidelines can be used as a starting point for the project of institutional VLE use for distance learning courses. It is concluded that, even with established usability evaluation guidelines, it is necessary to apply usability tests with real users, including to validate the application of these guidelines and expand them.

As on the stage the actor who is imperfect Fails his part only for fear, Or who, because his breast is full of hate Sees his heart break in a tremor, In me, for timidity, is omitted The most solemn rite of passion; And my love I see weakened, Veiled by its own dimension. Let my book then be my eloquence, Mute herald of what my breast says, That begs love and seeks reward More than the tongue that has done it most. Know how to read what silent love writes: To hear with the eyes is love's fate. Of sincere souls the sincere union There is nothing to hinder: love is not love If when it meets obstacles it alters, Or falters at the slightest fear. Love is an eternal landmark, dominant, That bravely faces the storm; It is the star that guides the wandering sail, Whose value is unknown, there at the time. Love does not fear time, though its tool does not spare youth; Love does not change from hour to hour, but asserts itself for eternity. If this be false, and that it is false some one hath proved, I am no poet, and none ever loved. William Shakespeare.

The evolution of the social and legal position of children and young people has acquired different perspectives throughout history and is constantly changing. After the consecration of the child as a true subject of rights, a new paradigm emerged that substantially changed the content and exercise of parental responsibilities. Obviously, the question of whether there is a right of correction and, if so, what is the boundary between the power-duty to educate and offence against physical integrity, only gained relevance from the moment when the idea of the child as an object of power was broken and the child was seen as an equal and privileged subject. This implies a limitation of the role played by parents and a balancing of the parent-child triangular relationship. This work aims to contribute to the deepening of the legal position of the child in the family, seeking to understand the real and current content of the power-duty to educate.

This paper aims to analyse the possible articulation between digital collections and the construction of memories from the material made available by them. In view of the digital collections, we selected the Brazilian Virtual Memory Network (RMVB) website of the National Library Foundation (FBN), which aims to gather information about digital collections from all over Brazil. The RMVB presents educational materials on the content of collections hosted by it, in an attempt to disseminate and democratise access to information and material hosted by it, these texts and images help the specialized and lay public to contextualise the various themes presented on the portal. In this sense, based on the concept of metamemory, this work will analyse the reasons for the organisation, construction, dissemination and potential of the objects built and hosted by Rede da Memória, always observing its objectives of popularising access, especially for the non-specialist public.

Our investigations into Montesquieu's theory of political law cross paths with the notion of law, religion and, incidentally, terrorism. The idea here is to resolve the problem of unjust laws (state and religious) and the need to combat them, violently or otherwise. In this respect, it's a question of establishing the law on the basis of the spirit of the laws, just as in Montesquieu's thinking, in order to prevent or curb terrorism. The same principle is valid for religion: defer to the spirit of religious laws when addressing the question of religion within the state. The Baron de la Brède's politico-legal approach is, however, supported by authors such as Nancy Fraser (redistribution/recognition) and Jürgen Habermas (discussion ethics).

In our work we have calculated the electronic and magnetic structural properties of the Ge1-xTMxTe alloy (MT=Mn, Fe) in the NaCl structure for concentrations (0¿x¿1), which was carried out using the liniarized plane wave method(FP-LAPW+lo) based on density functional theory(DFT) and we used the GGA approximation. The structural properties (a, B, B') are determined from the total energy, and our results are in good agreement with other calculations. Analysis of the band structure and density of state for a concentration of x=0.125 and x=0.25 showed that GeMnTe is a narrow-gap semiconductor, whereas GeFeTe is a half-metal. For concentrations x=0.5 and x=0.75 both alloys have a metallic character. In addition, we have predicted the exchange and separation energies ¿x(d) and ¿x(pd) and the exchange constants N0¿ and N0¿ are produced by the 3d Mn and 3d Fe states.Key words: DFT, FPLAPW, Ferromagnetism, Magnetic moment, spin separation energies.

In Haiti, 80% of the teachers working in the country's 16,000 schools (which cater for a total of around 2 million schoolchildren) have received no initial training. They perpetuate a frontal, repetitive and not very inclusive model of knowledge transmission (French Embassy, 2014). During our investigation in May 2018 in Jean-Rabel to complete our dissertation, twenty-seven teachers out of 30 highlighted the problem of "continuous training" as a huge difficulty in carrying out their duties. And yet these teachers had an average of fifteen years' experience. They had attended training sessions solely on "L'approche par Compétence APC" and "la pédagogie différenciée", thanks to the introduction of the renovated secondary school system. This book has been designed to enable teachers to improve their teaching practices through various mechanisms and teaching-learning conditions. Its aim is to enhance participants' skills and understanding, providing them with theoretical and practical frameworks for perfecting their knowledge and know-how.

In Morocco, the banking system has developed steadily. The rate of bancarisation approaching 71% (according to banking system indicators provided by the central bank represented by Bank Al-Maghrib in June 2017) augurs well for the sector's growth prospects. However, this development must be accompanied by effective risk management tools in line with the bank's strategy, local banking regulations, notably Bank Al-Maghrib and Bâloise regulations. With regard to loans, the prudential authorities have required banks and credit institutions to set up an internal rating system that will enable them to control their exposure to credit risk (Bank Al-Maghrib Circular No. 3/W/2016), by assigning a rating that distinguishes financially sound borrowers from borrowers at risk of default. The aim of this paper is to present the internal rating system used by a Moroccan bank and the parameters used to develop it.

The aim of this book, entitled "Analyzing linguistic skills in the translation process", is to test the hypothesis that translation students and some professional translators present a large number of linguistic problems. To carry out this work, a text was submitted to some translation students and professional translators, with the aim of analyzing the linguistic incongruities that can occur during translation. This analysis took a decidedly linguistic and even sociolinguistic turn. The study, centered on participants in Cameroon, focuses on textual specificity and comprehension, use of visualization, lexical inferences, understanding of syntax, punctuation and more. The results of our work, structured in five chapters, indicate, as we expected, that the linguistic problem is in fact a huge problem in translation. Based on this observation, translations have been made to improve the quality of these proposals, and underline the importance of the linguistic aspect.

Non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and chronic respiratory illness are the world's leading causes of death. Four modifiable risk factors are largely responsible for these diseases: tobacco use, unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity and harmful use of alcohol. Adolescence is a pivotal period for the development of non-communicable diseases, the prevention of which can have a triple benefit for today's teenagers, for their future adult lives and for the next generation. Non-communicable diseases can be prevented and treated by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and undergoing regular screening.

Since the early 2000s, sub-Saharan Africa seems to have returned to economic growth, putting paid to a certain idea of Afro-pessimism. In reality, however, this upturn is only benefiting a tiny proportion of the population, who are generally well-to-do and recluse themselves in the posh districts of major cities. From Abidjan to Kinshasa, the refrain "you can't eat growth" has become a catchphrase in the mouth of the average citizen. Day after day, the gap widens between rich and poor, top and bottom, political elite and civil society. And where does the World Bank fit into all this? It would be unfair and all too easy to blame it entirely for the persistence of inequalities and repeated socio-political crises, at the risk of forgetting that development is first and foremost a matter for Africans themselves. This book sheds new light on the complexity of the fight against poverty in Africa, in a context of institutional instability, with the case of Côte d'Ivoire between 2002 and 2010 cited as an example.

Mosquitoes are nematoceran diptera belonging to the Culicidae family. They are known for their harmful nature and their ability to transmit several vector-borne diseases. The mosquito inventory was carried out in the Tizi-Ouzou region from February 2019 to May 2023 in 45 breeding sites spread over 11 stations. Sampling was based on the collection of larvae using the Dipping method. The investigation revealed the presence of 21 species divided into two subfamilies and six genera, and enabled us to record a total number of 26,100 individuals. Cx. pipiens s.l. is the most dominant species in our study area, with 17898 individuals, followed by Cs. longiareolata with 6062 individuals. The results of this study show that the study area has two main disease vectors, the tiger mosquito Ae. albopictus and the An. maculipennis s.l. complex, which calls for a high level of public awareness of the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.
