Unlike international humanitarian organisations, the African Union considers food security from a development perspective, due to its status as a political organisation. It therefore has a framework of public policies which forms the basis of its action to promote food security in Africa. This framework incorporates the political and strategic guidelines laid down by the political authorities. However, the abundance of political discourse on food security within this organisation is not convincing enough about the effectiveness of its action on the ground. What is even more interesting is to understand the coherence and implementation factors of the organisation's actions, in particular the programmes and the institutional resources that accompany them. By addressing an issue that has received little attention in the scientific literature on the work of the African Union, this book offers a comprehensive analysis of the dynamics by which the African Union intervenes to resolve the problems of food insecurity in Africa.

The problems studied are linked to the guidelines presented by the Convergence towards a European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Competent workers are needed in today's knowledge society and the university is called upon to respond favourably to this demand by promoting the acquisition of professional competences in students. We analyse the "principles, conditions and characteristics of external placements"; considering them as a "way of professionalisation"; understanding them as a "component par excellence for competence training", focusing especially on the transversal competence of "teamwork". In order to achieve this aim, we initially used questionnaires to complete the information gathered through interviews. The results of the survey are based on the statements of more than one hundred students who filled in the questionnaires and five who volunteered for the interviews. It should be noted that the survey was carried out in Spain (Granada) and France (Reims) in 2012. The opinions of French and Spanish students coincide with each other.

Work that sought to know the effectiveness of homeopathy against ticks in cattle, since there is much controversy on the subject. The idea of the research arose by the intoxication that the author suffered by cypermethrin to apply by spraying in dairy cattle and its consequences, sought alternative treatments to ticks, finding homeopathy as one of the alternatives. When becoming a student of the Course of Biological Sciences sought to investigate the real action of homeopathy, developing research work that generated the TCC (Work of Course Completion) presented to FACIP / UFU in 2011, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Edmundo Benedetti, co guidance of Prof. Dr. Gabriela Lícia Santos Ferreira and assistance of Rafael Henrique Ribeiro de Morais, confirming the suspicion of action, but generating some doubts about the reproduction of the results in equal conditions. The book evaluated the best alternatives and corrected the inconsistencies of the TCC. Through data and information it was observed that homeopathy is effective and that there is a need to know more about this treatment option against ectoparasites, reducing the use of pesticides.

This project addresses the theme of the use of precast in civil construction, performing a checklist on the quality control in its manufacture and assembly. The idea for the development of this arose from the interest in knowing more closely the work of the industries in this type of service, from the manufacture of the raw material, through quality control, until reaching the final destination, which is the work itself. The objectives of this work were to present the typology, advantages and disadvantages of precast structures; to verify the materials and methods that are used for the manufacture and use of the parts and to elaborate a check list with the purpose of attesting that all the stages are fulfilled according to the programmed schedule. The company that intends to use the check list will promote better organization at the time of execution of the work and a more rigorous quality control, due to the tolerances defined by the NBRs; however, being attentive to the verification of errors, because, according to the theoretical foundation studied, if there is failure in any item, the correction should be made until a satisfactory result is obtained.

Since the 1960s, osseointegration has become a routine method for treating partial and total edentulism. Dental implants are commonly used in clinical situations to replace natural teeth. Despite numerous advances in implant materials, techniques and design, implant failures do occur and implants have to be removed. Implant failures can be divided into early failures (failure to achieve osseointegration) and late failures (failure to maintain osseointegration). Early failures occur during the healing period or when the abutments are connected, whereas late failures occur after the implants have been loaded. Peri-implantitis and lack of osseointegration are considered to be the main factors leading to implant failure. Other causes include occlusal overload, the patient's medical condition, smoking and implant characteristics. The aim of this paper is to discuss the different aetiologies of implant failure described in the literature.

This book was developed from research conducted to show the chemopreventive potential of the extract of propolis varieties, produced by Apis mellifera bees, on the process of experimental oral carcinogenesis to promote the delay or inhibition of dysplastic phenotype formation in the epithelial stratum. Several difficulties are encountered in the treatment of oral cancer, because it causes disabilities to the patient, impairing his family, social and professional reintegration. Thus, new therapeutic alternatives with the use of natural products or their compositions have been carried out through experimental models of mouth cancer as it was developed in this research. Thus, the present study of experimental oral carcinogenesis using DMBA proved to be effective in promoting carcinogenesis by inducing dysplastic changes in the oral mucosa. However, given the scarcity of research on natural products, it is also suggested that green propolis plays a protective role during the process of chemically induced carcinogenesis and that this was directly related to the increased concentration of hydroalcoholic extracts administered by gavage.

The present study focuses on the implementation of an intrusion detection system in the local network of a DGDA/Tshopo company. The main problem addressed in this work is the security of DGDA/Tshopo's local network. To solve this problem, we used the following methods: historical, structural-functional, UP and PERT, which enabled us to implement the security solution in the DGDA/TSHOPO local network.Given that the local network of the Direction Générale des Douanes et Accises/Tshopo benefits from Internet service, which constitutes a weak link in its security, we implemented an intrusion detection system, using pfsense and Snort technologies. This system is the appropriate mechanism for monitoring and analyzing all activity on the DGDA/Tshopo local network, in order to detect unusual traffic.

Corruption and organised crime are two notions that sound familiar to everyone, but no one can give us a precise definition. In popular culture, organised crime refers to the Italian mafia, enshrined in films, while corruption always seems to us to be linked to public service, bribery and politics. Indeed, in some respects, popular culture's idea of corruption and organised crime is close to reality. In order to fight against this Manichean view of the two terms, international organisations have been trying for a long time to develop, help, encourage and push for common definitions of organised crime and corruption at the international level. The weapons of these organisations? Treaties...

In this work, we have tried to show how tax revenues have behaved in the State budget from 2003 to 2006. To address this question, we began by defining the concepts associated with taxation. We then analysed the impact of tax revenues on the State budget. Our aim here was to describe the tax process used by the tax authorities to fund the Treasury's general account in order to meet its budgetary obligations. Nevertheless, it must be admitted that tax revenues are the main budgetary resources in the Democratic Republic of Congo, when tax revenues are combined with customs revenues, because of the nine border ports that the DRC has throughout the country. This calls for even more seriousness and diligence on the part of tax officials and the authorities, as we have already suggested in our previous proposals, to develop major strategies to deal with the new forms of tax evasion and avoidance that are significantly reducing tax revenues.

This is a study in the area of specialized care in rehabilitation nursing. The object of study is "The Intervention of the Nurse Specialist in Rehabilitation Nursing in patients with Chronic Respiratory Pathology". Nursing interventions of functional respiratory and motor rehabilitation were implemented, which proved to be effective. They translated into gains in terms of respiratory capacity, allowing for the development of normal daily life activities, the maintenance and improvement of mobility skills in users with a high average age and some physical and/or cognitive limitations, which, in itself, also translates into health gains in terms of independence and improved quality of life. Rehabilitation Nursing clearly adds value by putting into practice a dynamic performance focused on the acquired specialised knowledge, creating tools that allow for a structured performance of care, the promotion of its continuity, its assessment and the production of evidence-based scientific knowledge, thus contributing to reducing the length of hospital stay, which has an impact on a more effective management.

Talent is an individual cognitive premise developed by the individual in a certain area of knowledge or in several of them. The attention to talent in educational institutions is a process of great relevance that demands from the teacher well-designed strategies for its identification, stimulation and development. Raising their academic abilities requires the relationship between intelligence, creativity and motivation, as aspects that characterize the behavior of talent and constitute the essential core for its formation. This book offers a theoretical analysis and an empirical evaluation of the attention to talent in the context of the Pre-university Vocational Institute of Exact Sciences in Cuba. It is the result of a project associated to the Sectorial Program "Cuban Educational System. Perspectives of development" of the Ministry of Education.

This paper aims to point directly at a social circumstance that is not given the importance it should be given: the mistreatment of animals and its possible relationship with social violence. There are multiple connections in which this relationship manifests itself in the psychological, biological and social spheres. Leading scholars have contributed to this analysis and this article is a modest effort to summarise some of their contributions. As a dialectical counterpart to this process we must consider the role of Humanitarian Education in the formation of more empathetic and compassionate citizens for the construction of less violent societies. The aim is then to present a set of reflections for parents, teachers, professionals and officials of various child protection institutions, so that they can incorporate this element into their daily lives in favour of a climate of peace and social coexistence.

Apomixis, the most important reproductive anomaly of higher plants, is asexual formation of embryos and seeds (agamospermia). This results in copies of the mother plant (clones). The two main deviations from the normal, sexual pathway are: (1) Bypassing ¿ meiosis to produce unreduced eggs. Using embryological-cytological methods, which were extremely laborious at the time, various mechanisms were gradually discovered for this; some preserve the alternation of generations (gametophytic apomixis), others do not (adventitious embryony, in which the alternation of generations is only evident in the formation of the endosperm). (2) Embryos from unreduced oocytes (or embryocytes) arise parthenogenetically, consequently contain only maternal chromosomes. Before the proof of parthenogenesis in higher plants was finally achieved (1898), research and arguments lasted for six decades. Finally, I discuss in more detail the fertilisation of unreduced oocytes and its evolutionary significance, the first genetic work on apomixis, and the convoluted, historically evolved glossary of apomictic processes, which I compare with today's simplified terminology.

HIV infection in children is mainly acquired through transmission from mother to child, either during pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding. To prevent this infection, it is essential to strictly monitor the mother-child relationship from the first weeks of pregnancy onwards in order to minimise the risk of transmitting the virus to the child. It is also important to monitor the biological status of the exposed child from the first weeks of life, so that HIV infection can be detected as early as possible and the infected child can be properly cared for. This paper presents the results of an evaluation of the follow-up of children born to HIV-positive mothers at Murunda district hospital, where it was found that the majority of exposed children receive regular follow-up in accordance with the national protocol, but that more needs to be done to improve the quality of this follow-up and comply with national guidelines.

Dialectics, in its genesis, was taken as the art of dialogue, although, throughout history, it has assumed different forms from the mental maps that have guided the concept. When considering the various changes and vicissitudes it has undergone, we arrive at the question: What dialectics? The aim of this paper is to reflect on and problematize in a critical way the historical development and the main divergences contained in the different meanings of the concept of dialectics, seeking to explain the contingencies and transformations that have occurred since its foundation in the West, arising from the clash between the theories of Parmenides of Elia and Heraclitus of Ephesus, until Karl Marx, where dialectics took on aspects never before observed. In this way, we sought to unveil a dialectic whose identity, because it is such and such it is, is not inert.

Values have always been and will be the most important component of shaping a person's worldview. Values define the standards of our behaviour and indicate our level of consciousness, which is projected onto the plane of responsibility for the results of our decisions. Although values are not subject to a clear rational, logical scientific definition, they are something that lies in the plane of movement towards a certain ideal and has the potential for good, and something that encourages actions aimed at achieving this good. And this movement concerns the activities of all participants in any socio-economic system: families, organisations, states. Practice shows, and Ukraine is no exception, that it is the values professed in society at a particular historical moment of its development that can form a new generation of people who become initiators and drivers of powerful social changes and transformations.

Pork is the most produced and consumed meat in the world, its share of the world market has increased year after year, representing more than 40% of the total meat consumed worldwide. Pig farming as an activity has multiplier effects on all productive sectors of the economy, it is an instrument for rooting people in the countryside and an important source of high quality food for human consumption. As a rural activity in small production units, it is decisive because it employs family labour, which contributes to the economy and social stability in the countryside with positive results in the urban environment. It is the small and medium-sized producers who remain in the activity, with modest productive results, due to the fact that they constantly face economic crises, a situation that causes discouragement and even leads them to abandon the activity. The production of pigs in the field can be a solution to the economic problem and presents alternatives in accordance with the adequate disposal of the excrement in order to reduce the environmental impact.

This paper proposes the production of interactive environments in street parties in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The parties in urban space can be translated by the optic of production of spaces of resistance and manifestation of the right to the city. This paper investigates urban space from different perspectives: heterotopias, the TAZ, the formation of the favela, the criminalization of funk culture and the production of spaces perpetuating resistance discourses. It is seen that specifically the black public has been neglected by public administrations as a result of Urban Reforms and the formation of a public image of segregation that is perceived until today with the implementation of the project of the Police Pacification Units and the ban on funk dancing. In this context, it is investigated how digital arts, specifically videotechnologies, can work in order to claim the visibility of marginalized groups. The objective of the work was to conceptualize an ambiance for a street party preceded by three experiments concretized in free editions of parties in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

When it comes to assessing Africa's economic potential, the focus is on its subsoil, its people and, to a lesser extent, its agriculture, which is struggling to produce the cereals needed to feed its people. Witness the quantities of rice from Asia that invade African markets every day. Africa's potential for fruit production is not often mentioned, because it is assumed to be derisory and ignored. Apples and other fruits marketed worldwide are hardly produced in Africa. Ignorance of the potential of African fruit is also a factor in the neglect of fruit production potential. When we do talk about fruit production, it's limited to the bananas and pineapples that some African countries export. In this book, we focus on a few fruits that are typically African or common to tropical environments, often referred to as exotic fruits. They enable entire families to get through the lean season without worry. As for the wealth of traditional pharmacopoeia, there's still a long way to go!

Litigation relating to the abrupt termination of commercial relations continues to give rise to concern in view of the direction that case law has taken in recent years. Initially created by the Galland Act to protect the party who has been ousted when an established commercial relationship is terminated, twenty years on the application of article L. 442-6, I, 5° of the French Commercial Code has led to a number of abuses, sometimes even achieving the opposite of what the article was intended to achieve. This study, supported by various points of view, suggests a number of avenues for reflection and outlines solutions to the problems encountered by Article L. 442-6, I, 5°. In particular, the possibility of further defining the terms of the very notion of "established commercial relationship"; proposing a "checklist" of criteria for calculating the notice periods awarded; capping their duration; encouraging the multiplication of inter-professional agreements; and inserting a proposal for concepts of compatibility specific to compensation aimed at assessing the compensation for damage as accurately as possible.

Dislocations and perilunate fracture-luxations of the carpus are uncommon injuries, accounting for 5-10% of traumatic wrist injuries. The combination of bone and ligament injuries explains the difficulty of treating these injuries. We collated 30 retrolunate dislocations and fracture-luxations of the carpus surgically treated between 2004 and 2014 with a minimum follow-up of 24 months. Two classifications were used Herzberg's classification for perilunate dislocation fractures of the carpus, which comprises 3 stages I, IIa and IIb according to the direction of sagittal displacement of the capitate in relation to the lunate and the degree of sagittal displacement of the lunate in relation to the radius.

We are in the midst of a major transformation of our society for the future. On the one hand, this transformation concerns tools (computers, smartphones, software...), but it also concerns living together, i.e. the relationship between human beings and the way we live as a community, with or without the intermediation of these objects and networks. This concept is increasingly becoming a reality in a country like Cameroon. Our society (Cameroon included) is going through unprecedented upheavals. The book 'Communicating in a virtual world' is a compilation of papers from the very first colloquium organized by Maaron Business School (ISTG-AC), and edited by Professor Alain Ndedi.

Advances in anti-cancer therapies require a growing understanding of the genetic and phenotypic profile of each cancer. Indeed, the use of anti-cancer immunotherapy requires an understanding not only of the various players in the relationship between the immune system and different tumor types, but also of how they interact. In the future, anti-cancer therapies are likely to be increasingly individualized. This knowledge has led to the development of anti-tumor immunotherapies, both in humans and animals, some of which are clinically proven to be effective. Effectiveness depends on both the vaccine antigen chosen and the mode of antigen administration. These numerous trials give us great hope for the future in finding effective ways of preventing and treating cancers. Finally, given the similarities between human and animal tumours, the use of immunotherapy in pets could serve as a reference for a similar treatment in humans.

Households could also make use of the explicitly detailed instructions and apply good hygiene practices, in order to ward off any possibility of collective food poisoning during family celebrations and ceremonies. In addition, the information contained in this book may be of great use in establishing perfect catering hygiene in university halls of residence and military barracks.

Natiokobadara is an area of high shea butter production in the town of Korhogo in northern Côte d'Ivoire. Shea butter production is a successful socio-economic model for the women of Natiokobadara. This activity has become a source of income for them, enabling some to contribute to the family budget. However, this locality presents a complex spatial framework due to the problems of environmental degradation caused by shea butter production. This has a number of consequences for the living environment of the local population. These consequences manifest themselves in the form of illegal dumping, the emergence of pathologies and exposure to health risks. This study examines the health risks incurred by women during shea butter production and the rational management of the environment. It is based on documentary research and field surveys. The results show that shea butter production is an activity carried out by illiterate women. As a result, production methods remain archaic.

Special education is a teaching method designed for children with special needs, with the aim of providing them with an education adapted to their disability. This type of learning is aimed at people with learning disabilities, communication difficulties, emotional and behavioural disorders, physical and intellectual disabilities and developmental disorders. According to empirical studies, special education has developed on the fringes of 'normal' education systems. For a long time, children with disabilities were marginalised. They were regarded as mentally ill and therefore unproductive for society. This work is based on the hypothesis that SE promotes the autonomy and socialisation of children with learning disabilities.

In the wake of the economic crisis that affected many sectors of activity, the revival of the economy through new investment has been reflected in the exponential creation of commercial and industrial companies. In a context where taxation is of particular importance for these economic operators, given the size of the tax burden on companies, it has become important to take into account this criterion, which over time has become decisive for the survival of the business. Legal Form and the Tax Regime of Commercial Companies" takes a strategic approach to the relationship between taxation and legal form. It examines the question of taxation as a determining factor in legal form, by setting out the conventional and exceptional tax regimes to which commercial companies are subject, depending on the corporate form chosen. It then presents the various risks incurred when this choice is based exclusively or primarily on tax obligations. This book provides an overview of taxation as an essential, but not exclusive, factor in the choice of legal form.
