In recent years, on the island of Hispaniola, levels of conflict have arisen between the Haitian and Dominican communities that used to live in relative peace with each other, with the reservation that there were already historical experiences between the two nations that could lead to conflictual tendencies.At times conflict discourses have been used in a despotic manner by influential individuals in both nations, but at present they are rare. However, intellectuals from both nations do take up their nationalist positions.Similarly, international NGO activists proclaim their views, inflaming public opinion in both nations. It is necessary to identify to what extent the problem is ethical-political, when affirming that States have the right to exist, since, in the Dominican-Haitian issue, we must respect the right to exist of both nations as a State, without implying the non-existence of the other, respecting International Law and seeking mutual trust through diplomatic and intercultural dialogue.

This book, entitled Caricature as a strategy in the interpretation of historical sources, was born out of a constant concern that has arisen in my pedagogical work in recent years, when I observed in my students little motivation for historical topics, perhaps dictated in a traditional and tedious way by us teachers; realising this great disinterest and seeing that times are changing and the uses of technology are accelerating, I decided to look for an attractive, creative and humorous strategy to connect these new generations with historical ties. With this, I intend to introduce students to historical research, but in an active and participatory way; as they will resort to researching primary or secondary sources to learn about past events and then apply the caricature as an attractive resource for their study.

The bibliographical and field research carried out during the Divine Holy Spirit festivities in the city of Salvador is a rich contribution to cultural studies in Bahia. The chapters composed of the Divine Triad: Father, Son, Holy Spirit and Amen, reveal the multiple dimensions of the festivities, constituting their first documentary and imagery record complemented by a video. The Feast is a celebration with more than two hundred years of tradition. It takes place annually during the Pentecost period in the old Historic Centre, in the Santo Antônio Além do Carmo neighbourhood, and is one of the city's least visible popular events, but one that mobilises the local population in expressive processes of community identity and with a strong religious appeal inherited from the Iberian tradition.

Human self-organization implies not only self-exploration of personal spiritual evolution and the whole living world, but also the formation of various technologies of personal growth. One of such technologies, which helps to form human personality is theology. The author offers the experience of his own spiritual evolution using powerful technologies of personal growth: philosophy and theology. This work provides an in-depth analysis of the transition from the Templar Order to the Order of Christ between the 14th and 15th centuries, highlighting the astuteness of King Dinis of Portugal, who ruled between 1279 and 1325, in creating the heir to the Templars, the Order of Christ created in 1317, and his concern to protect it. The research takes a comprehensive approach that establishes links between the work of the Knights Templar in the crusades in the Middle East, in the War of Reconquest in the Iberian Peninsula, in the transition of the surviving Knights Templar from the persecution of the King of France; Philip IV the Fair to the Order of Christ and in the efficient work of these knights in Portuguese territorial expansion, where the commitment of Prince Henry to perfecting navigational techniques was also emphasised. The fourth chapter proposes a pedagogical discussion on this subject.

This book describes the path taken to acquire competencies as a Specialist Nurse and Master in Medical-Surgical Nursing, addressing and reflecting on the personal and professional growth developed. Among the topics covered, we highlight the development of a ventilator weaning protocol proposal and the analysis of literature on the humanization of care for people in critical situations. We would also add the relevance of the reasoned reflections on the clinical component, in the area of specialization, which have translated into implications for professional, ethical and legal practice; in programs for the continuous improvement of services; in the prevention, intervention and control of infection and antimicrobial resistance; in the management of nursing care; and in the development of professional learning, namely in self-knowledge and assertiveness. Thus, the book reflects a path rich in experiences that have enabled the development of a holistic approach to the person in a critical situation, contributing to more meaningful nursing for people.

This research addresses spatial thinking skills through an interdisciplinary strategy with a STEAM approach using the origami technique that facilitates the didactic transposition from the concrete to the abstract. The main objective was to contribute to the development of spatial thinking skills from a complexity science approach in the third grade in the municipality of Nátaga. Two groups were formed, one urban and the other rural, to which a pretest, posttest and a questionnaire were applied. Likewise, he himself developed for three months ten sessions of the interdisciplinary strategy with each group.Finally, an analysis is presented that shows the development and relevance of the strategy without discrimination of geographical areas, the skills less developed in the sample and more fortified by the implementation of the Origami technique. Likewise, the practice of Origami becomes a potentially useful resource for learning, easy to implement in classroom work, with advantages inherent to its practice and inherent to its value as a playful tool.

The growing interest in the interrelationship between science and technology and its implications for the daily lives of various social segments has led to a significant increase in initiatives aimed at promoting greater access to science products for the general public. This book analyses the ideological aspects that permeate the scientific dissemination activities carried out in science museums through exhibitions, focusing on the importance of the practices of operationalising scientific information.

This report is the result of studies and learning on the Assessment, Diagnosis and Intervention in Institutional/Clinical Psychopedagogy internship, during which a psychopedagogical assessment of a child was carried out, taking into account the stages suggested by authors in the field. It should be noted that this psychopedagogical assessment took place with a five (5) year old male child, who initially complained of linguistic difficulties in reading and writing. Despite a lot of resistance still observed among those involved in the schooling process, such as the family and the school, mainly due to lack of knowledge, we can see that committed work ends up breaking down barriers and stereotypes that are still linked to school failure. In this sense, we highlight the importance of the role of the psychopedagogue as an important professional mediator of these relationships, whether in the school or clinical setting, exploiting all the potential that learners have.

The Internet is an undeniable source of opportunity. Despite an exponential increase in the number of users in developing countries, the fact remains that individuals in these countries are not benefiting sufficiently from the dividends of the Internet, i.e. the spin-offs in the form of job creation, improved public services and economic growth. Either because of a lack of awareness of the opportunities on the web, or the absence of an environment conducive to exploiting them. It therefore becomes imperative to enable motivated individuals to identify these opportunities, to encourage them to demand, on the one hand, an improved digital environment, and substantial investment in digital development in the country, and, on the other, to help them discover the sources of opportunities on the web, and the strategies to appropriate them in a perspective of personal and professional development. In order to achieve this objective, this book lists several types of existing opportunities on the web, ranging from annual scholarships to online courses and exchange programs, to name but a few.

One of the advances that has currently contributed most to the recovery of patients after laparoscopic colorectal surgery is the "Multimodal Rehabilitation" or "Fast Track" model. This programme is based on multidisciplinary action with the aim of reducing post-surgical pathophysiological alterations in order to accelerate the patient's recovery and shorten hospital stays.

La démocratie en question is intended as an argumentative solution to the thorny problem of the nature of democracy. However, it is the fruit of the deepening of a philosophical reflection begun in 1989. In it, the perception and apprehension of the true nature of democracy are presented as real reasons to support the struggle for its promotion and expansion throughout the world. The author takes an unorthodox, anti-complex, analytical and critical approach to this issue, based on the observation of facts and political phenomena on a global scale, but in relation to Africa, and on reflection. The book is structured around three main points: democratic ambivalence, the political aspects and forms of this ambivalence, and the ups and downs of democracy. This reflection is motivated by the advantages of democracy as the political Good par excellence. But as presented, and even more so today, it appears ambiguous.

Mexico has made progress in the creation of a legal framework protecting human rights recognized and guaranteed in its constitutional text, however, it has still been necessary to abolish attitudes of discrimination and cultural assimilation of the indigenous population with the non-indigenous, to avoid the deterioration and disappearance of the cultural richness represented by the indigenous peoples that inhabit the Mexican territory. It is necessary, in addition to elevating to constitutional rank provisions protecting the human rights to culture and the self-determination of peoples, that the State implement multiculturalism as a transversal axis within its state organization in order to reinforce the protection of the Mexican cultural heritage and therefore of the cultural heritage of humanity.

What is consciousness? Is it something exclusive to human beings or something shared with other animals? At what point can we speak of the appearance of conscious life? These and other questions are addressed here, although we do not intend to give a definitive answer, at least we will shed more light on everything that makes us human. Darwin did not take long to realize the great similarity we share with other animals, but a major drawback arose: consciousness does not leave a fossil record. How then can we study it? Through the practices that derive from it, such as the burial of our loved ones or the use of a whole lithic industry. Also the use of ornaments and trousseaus leave us a small clue, just as it happens with Paleolithic art or our own bone armor, which sooner or later we get rid of. In order to investigate all this, the subject has been dealt with from an interdisciplinary point of view, drawing on various fields such as philosophy, anthropology, ethology or linguistics, which undoubtedly allow us to offer a better interpretation of such an intricate subject.

This work consists of highlighting the biological activity of Artemisia Herba alba extracts, as well as determining the optimal dose of essential oil. Indeed, the study of the four extracts (aqueous, ethanolic, methanolic and acetone) of the aerial part showed a high content of total polyphenols, flavonoids and condensed tannins. A study on the socio-cultural and commercial values of artisanal products based on fiber plants from the Kikwit region, Kwilu province was carried out as part of our research conducted from March to September 2019. The main objective was to study the socio-cultural and commercial values of artisanal products based on fiber plants from the Kikwit region with a view to considering the conservation and sustainable use of plant resources. The methodological approach was based on the observation of inventories of objects made from fibre plant products, supported by survey techniques to obtain additional information on their uses and socio-cultural values. The main results show that several valuable objects are made from products extracted from Raphia, Eremosphata and Urena lobata. This is particularly true of items such as hats, bags, sandals, clothing, baskets, shelves, chairs and carpets.

Recycling is important, because it allows us to reduce garbage, and consequently pollution, but this is not achieved without an ecological culture, which allows us not to continue polluting the environment, as well as the aquifers by the excess of garbage and its poor treatment. Recycling also allows the people who do it to obtain extra income for their survival. It is necessary to create a culture for the proper treatment of garbage at all academic levels and separate it for recycling.

One cannot fail to notice that the Church is the great absentee in the Argentine historiography of the last century. And the thirties are no exception to this rule. Probably due to the lack of resources destined to historical research, or perhaps a certain material difficulty of access indispensable to study its history. Perhaps the mistaken perception of the role played by the Church in politics, society and national culture, often considered minor, also played a role. In fact, in most cases, historical research has completely neglected the Church, and of the few works that do exist, most are of ecclesiastical origin and unfortunately tend to be of a compilation and apologetic nature and therefore of little scientific value. According to Zanatta, "the lack of specific micro-researches on particular dioceses or particular figures of the clergy, on particular episodes [...] on the basis of which a really well-founded interpretation of their role in the Argentine history of those years could be attempted".

The catalytic vinylation reaction of 3,5-dimethylheptadiin-1,6-diol-3,5, 2,5-diphenylhexin-3-diol-2,5, 3,6-dimethyloctyne-4-diol-3,6, 1,3-dihydroxybenzene, butyne-2-diol-1,4 in the presence of acetylene by homogeneous and heterogeneous catalytic methods at atmospheric and high pressure and it was found that the corresponding mono- and divinyl derivatives of diols were formed. The nature and amount of catalyst, nature of solvent, temperature, molar ratio of acetylene and diol, acetylene feed rate and optimum conditions for the process were determined. The kinetics of the process of vinylation of diols with acetylene was studied and the value of activation energy for each process was calculated. Quantum-chemical calculations of selected diols and vinyl compounds synthesized on their basis were carried out, mathematical processing of experimental results was carried out and mathematical modeling of the vinylation process was carried out. On the basis of the obtained results and presented regularities the mechanism of formation of mono- and divinyl compounds of diols was proposed. The biological activity of the synthesized compounds was studied.

We collect in these lines the theoretical basis for a future didactic proposal aimed at teaching, from a historical point of view, the urban modifications and political issues of our most recent past, as a transforming element of the landscape or closest environment. We propose a documentary outline on the different existing actions in Cordoba and its province in order to have the substrate with which to develop a series of educational practices (itineraries, historical maps ...) with which future teachers can understand the importance of the urban landscape, not only as economic, social pillars, etc., but also as transforming and shaping elements of our territory.

This paper presents a way of modeling the fatigue-generated crack growth in the forging area of the ERW (Electric Resistance Welding) weld process, using the general purpose finite element software ANSYS Static Structural and APDL modules version12.0 applying the strain-life analysis ¿¿/2=¿_f/E (¿2N¿_f )^b+¿_f and the calculation of the Intensity factor KI. The study is focused on the forging area of the weld called FWZ (Forged Weld Zone) of a straight section of 20" API 5L Gr B 20" 6 m linear carbon steel pipe, starting with an induced crack at the top of the FWZ, for design pressure conditions of 1.86 Mpa and a temperature of 43 °C. This methodology integrates information that is scattered in the literature, proposing variants that sometimes exceed what has been published in previous works. The methodology is applied in the three-dimensional and dimensional modeling by means of two load cycles that exceed the design pressure values, obtaining the KI by means of Ansys and the crack propagation velocity by means of the Paris equation da/dN=C(¿K)^m.

First of all, I would like to thank my family, my little Shara Arcila and my wife Yulieth Cartagena, who encourage the creation and production of research instruments for the academic community. This work is a tool for the construction of research products, ranging from a logical explanation of the parameters and parts of a preliminary project to the completion of the project. Likewise, this work can not only be used as another tool for the production of research, but also as an instrument of communication with each other, appreciating the otherness as an instrument of pedagogical knowledge. Today the world must be clear that the need for peace and solution to world conflicts, starts from the same communication of logical instruments and guidelines of knowledge in the globalized world.

In this paper we propose to address the topic of Effective and Empathic Communication, framed within the Psychology of Emergency, as a relevant skill for the current training of psychologists. A previous theorization and subsequent exploration and analysis of a sample of publications in Spanish that work on communication tools and strategies in crisis situations will be carried out. The search for publications and protocols will be explored by means of different descriptors in open access databases, in order to serve as a guide against the proposed path to date of the chosen topic.

Every physician, regardless of his specialization, must know the basic principles of differential diagnosis, because untimely recognition of serious clinical symptoms associated with pain syndrome in the heart region, threatening the health and sometimes life of the patient, are of paramount importance for any clinician.To properly understand the essence of the pain syndrome, it is necessary to have the necessary knowledge about the development of clinical manifestations of various CVDs and their diagnostic criteria.Based on the above, we felt it necessary to provide more detailed information on the nature of the clinical course and diagnostic methods in various SSc.

The State, the media and the citizenry are a trident that, when interrelated in an electoral situation, build a public agenda. In the case of insecurity, the agenda-setting theory (TEA) has explained the influence of the issues disseminated by the mass media on public policies through public opinion. In this sense, the objective of this paper was to construct an index of the framing of print media on violence against migrants. For this purpose, a sample of news articles, editorials and opinion columns was selected. Subsequently, a content analysis was carried out. The results show that the coverage of migrant insecurity during the period from September 2011 to April 2019 is low. The findings were discussed in reference to the OER.

The general objective of the research was to determine the influence of the teacher's activity in the classroom on the formation of political culture of students in the E.A. P of Sociology of the UNC, for it describes the types of behavior, ways of life and above all diagnoses the cognitive set of students about political culture, The research is developed under the purposes of politics and especially of political culture as this is manifested in the exercise of power, but a power that knows how to distribute equitably the economic, social, cultural and political resources of a given society, and thus seek the common good. The findings of the research allow us to contrast that there is a direct influence of the teaching activity on the political culture of the students; a situation that is evidenced in the messages, set of knowledge of the teachers that are transmitted to the students to consolidate the achievement of the learning objectives.

Why is it important to apply RETIE and NTC 2050 in public and private entities? Research showed that electricity could also cause damage to living beings and property and even death to people or animals, and with the growth of its applications, the number of people exposed to electrical hazards also increased. Thus, since 1879, the first death caused by electricity generated by man has been known, when a carpenter lost his life in the city of Lion, France, and the death in 1882 of the first lineman, by electrocution on a pole in a street in Manhattan. Knowing the risks associated with electricity, parallel to the research and scientific developments on its applications, technical safety standards were also established to mitigate or eliminate such risks, becoming the sector with the greatest standardisation. The correct application of these standards means that electromagnetic applications can be considered safe and reliable.

This book is a support tool for various professionals, including: Academics, researchers, bank managers, policy makers, students, and in general for all those who want to acquire relevant knowledge in the industrial organization of banking, through applications of multivariate statistical techniques, based on cluster analysis, factorial analysis, discriminant analysis, data envelopment analysis, statistical frontier analysis and other static and dynamic econometric models.

Many Western countries are carrying out reforms in response to criticism, notably of the inertia and immobility of Weberian bureaucracy in the face of socio-economic change, the difficulties of the State in controlling expenditure and reducing public deficits, etc. All marked by the new public management, these reforms introduce a model based on the logic of the market. Indeed, a deep malaise is affecting the management of rural local authorities/sectors in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In view of the stagnation in these supposedly autonomous entities, it has become imperative to rethink the way they are managed. Without hesitation, the new public management is targeted as a globalizing field of research.The new conventional and partnership-based approach to new public management to which we allude contains two important aspects: the first is a vision focused on convention, which has made it possible to detect political, local public service and socio-economic players, and the second is a partnership-based vision through "public-private" and "public-public" partnerships.
