Faced with worsening climatic conditions, the populations of rural areas in Africa are forced to make do or flee. Many of these climatic or economic exiles, young people in particular, attempt clandestine emigration, risking their lives in the process, to a Europe regarded as the ultimate refuge from misery. However, these rural areas are rich in resources and offer considerable potential for agro-pastoral development, as the soil is generally fertile and livestock is plentiful. As part of its agricultural policy, the Senegalese government is mobilizing all its administrative, technical and financial institutions to provide support for agricultural project developers. The aim is to boost national GDP while curbing rural poverty. The aim of this book is to provide readers with a comprehensive methodology, based on my personal experience and proven teaching expertise acquired at leading French universities, which will enable them to acquire the fundamental foundations for successful project implementation.

In short, this book opens up the possibility of both informing and promoting research on governance and citizen participation. The work of the author is therefore to be acknowledged, as this text stands as a valuable effort to give the reader a deep and broad perspective on governance and citizen participation. It is clear that the social phenomenon and concept of governance is, for practical purposes, quite contested.

Migrant labour identity theory argues that there are four processes through which dependency relationships are established between eight dimensions addressed by the state of knowledge and four psychosocial theories of conflict and change. From the socio-historical perspective, the psychology of migration studies the dimensions of belonging, categorisation, representation and identity circumscribed to migrant reference groups.

This book entitled Covid - 19 Diary of a Pandemic 2020-2023 consists of 42 chapters, five of which have the structure of a diary and the others are essays, reflections and compilation of figures. I started writing it in 2020 and the last notes were incorporated in November 2023.I always felt that I had a diary to write. I did not do it during my youth, nor at another stage of my life; but the special context of a pandemic such as the coronavirus disease motivated me enough, being a doctor by profession, to start recording information, which was really a lot, in the midst of the great advances in medicine, computing, informatics, internet, social networks, cellular telephony and more recently artificial intelligence.

The main idea is a consistent materialistic understanding of the surrounding world. The development of a consistent materialistic view of the world around us allows us to offer an alternative view of some phenomena and their interpretation by modern scientific theories. Some consequences of the consistent materialistic view of the world around us, stated in the previous book, including the development of society, are considered and clarified. The secondary character of religious views and their inclusion in the consistent materialistic view is shown. Attention is focused on the world outlook position of researchers, both in the interpretation of experimental results and in the development of theoretical concepts. The concepts of gravitational and electromagnetic inert masses are introduced and their contribution to the stability of material formations is considered.

The aim of this study is to investigate the mathematical connections between manifestations of area that teacher trainees make (or not) when solving tasks of measuring and comparing the area of flat surfaces. The student teachers, gathered in pairs, answered a questionnaire that asked them to: 1) measure the area of flat surfaces using two or three different procedures, and 2) justify each resolution based on the procedures used. The results obtained show that the vast majority of student teachers favour the use of numerical procedures and the use of formulas, ignoring geometric and intuitive procedures that would facilitate the task of quantifying the area. In this sense, it is difficult for student teachers to establish connections between the manifestations of area.

This book exposes some unknowns that are generated around children's gender identity and the mental health problems that these entail. Transgenderism in children is a taboo subject in Ecuador which has provoked myths and prejudices due to the little information that exists about it. The search for gender identity in children causes anxiety and other physical and psychological problems. These complications produce an alteration of mood that can be controlled with Dance Movement Therapy. This technique uses body movement as a means of expression and communication and has been applied to prevent and treat physical and psychological difficulties in various populations. With this, it is expected to demonstrate that art therapy, such as dance, is a technique with positive results to reduce psychological distress. Likewise, it is expected that there will be a reduction of stigmas and myths in order to fight against certain cultural misconceptions about transgenderism in minors.

The morphological particularities of invasive carcinomas of the breast occurring in the context of hereditary predispositions have been described, but are few in number. The frequency of inherited BRCA1 mutations is of the order of 3 to 4% in the breast cancer patient population. These carcinomas are non-specific and exceptionally of another histological type, high-grade with a lymphocyte-rich stroma in 85% of cases and triple-negative phenotype without HER2 amplification. In the presence of other inherited BRCA2, CHECK2, ATM or PALB2 mutations, breast carcinomas are frequently grade 3, non-specific and luminal B. Inherited TP53 mutations occur in young women under 50, and are amplified for HER2 in over 70% of cases. The use of therapies such as PARP inhibitors for patients whose tumors present a homologous recombination defect implies looking for a constitutional mutation in a predisposition gene (currently BRCA/PALB2). Morphological characteristics are not sufficient to identify patients most at risk.

The fieldwork that extended the length and breadth of the streets of Bogota was developed from the simple observation of the people who collect paper, cardboard and recyclable waste, and who use the "balineras" cart to transport these materials. Through this practice, I was able to realize - as any pedestrian would - that the bins cart is also the home of the cartonero. In July 1985, the observation became participative when we looked for the deposits of recyclable raw material near a place called by the people "the street of the Cartucho". For this reason, one of the most important spatial analysis nuclei of this work is this sector, one of the best known "ollas" in the city, located between 9th and 10th streets with 12th and 13th streets, in the Santa Inés sector, today the old center of Bogotá, in the process of rehabilitation. When we say "olla" we are talking about a sector abandoned by urban planning policies, which gradually became a sector for the sale of psychoactive substances.

The discussion concerning the socio-psychological system will contribute to the explanation of the impact of Information and Communication Technologies on human behaviour. The media seem to initiate and terminate the informational process of persuasion or dissuasion of audiences and groups, mainly people who interact closely with the individual, mediate the issues, contents and messages that the media have broadcasted.

Based on the fact that mandibular fractures are the most frequent in facial traumatology, being the reason for numerous consultations in Emergency Departments. We wondered whether fractures of the lower jaw are a health problem we should be concerned about, so we set ourselves the objective of describing the incidence of fractures of the lower jaw. In order to achieve this objective, a cross-sectional descriptive study was designed and carried out at the Saturnino Lora Provincial Hospital between January and December 2013. The working universe consisted of 27 patients, which included fractures of the lower jaw associated with other fractures of the maxillofacial complex, and the sample consisted of 20 patients who suffered pure fractures of the lower jaw for one reason or another. The Clinical Histories of the patients were reviewed where the data of interest were compiled and grouped in tables for their better study. It was observed that there is a higher incidence of fractures of the lower jaw in males.

This book is the result of the research entitled "The social policies of the Panamanian state in the reduction of indigenous poverty in the decade 1995-2005. The case of the Guna Yala region" and which was the work developed by the authors to obtain a Master's degree in Social Sciences with emphasis in Sociology and Political Science, at the Universidad Especializada de Las Américas (UDELAS) in 2011. Our life has no certainties, rather it is a pure openness, a chaotic opening to the uncertainty of the unknown; in this transition, language fulfils a series of functions: representative, expressive, appellative, phatic, metalinguistic, poetic, among others, which become great bounties that life confers on us so that we can give significance to our passage through this enormous cosmic placenta in which we coexist with other beings with whom we are religiously connected, by means of that innate capacity, language, that which makes our life like a kind of theatre, in which we act simultaneously as actors and spectators. Every human being is capable of observing the situation and of observing himself in it, on every stage, in every event.

The results of the conducted research showed that the content of especially dangerous and toxic nitrates in tomato does not exceed the permissible norms established by sanitary rules and norms for this vegetable, and the content of nitrites was not detected. Monitoring of toxicological contamination of tomato at the stage of technical ripeness showed that treatments with chemical means of pest and disease control applied in farms did not affect their quality. Along with contamination by chemical toxicants coming from outside, the main reason of tomato unsuitability for food is active development of microorganisms.

In this research we will explain the history of the Motive Power Department of the extinct Compañía Fundidora de Fierro y Acero de Monterrey, S.A., since it is one of the few buildings within the Parque Fundidora located in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico that preserves the industrial and architectural vestiges, product of more than 40 years of supplying electrical energy to the Monterrey steel mill. The contribution to the industrial heritage of this steelworks (1900-1986) is to learn about the history and development of its technological equipment, as well as the people assigned to the motive power department and to revalue the workers' memory within the new uses of architectural recycling where it used to be for industrial production and now with its new uses for social and cultural production.

"Where does so much passion come from? The reasons behind the popularisation of football in Brazil - A study of Rio de Janeiro at the beginning of the 20th century" is an analysis of the development of this sport in Brazil, seen from the perspective of what happened in the then Federal Capital at the beginning of the 20th century. An object of dispute between the agents present there, football, from its first kicks, proved to be more accessible to those who wanted to play it. However, this did not mean that it was available to everyone in the same way. Around this process, this book seeks to contribute to an analysis of the origins of this national passion that is football.

This paper presents concepts related to bilingualism and bilingual education in Brazil, as well as offering an analysis of the pedagogical proposal of a bilingual institution located in the interior of the state of São Paulo through the information contained on its website together with interviews conducted with two of the institution's teachers with a view to identifying the concepts of bilingualism as well as the way in which the school space is organised. This study also includes a presentation of bilingual education in Brazil and some considerations set out in the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN) with regard to foreign language teaching. Next, some advantages, concepts and definitions related to bilingualism are highlighted. At the end, we point out the need to extend bilingual education, which to this day is restricted to only a financially privileged minority due to the high prices of the institutions that provide this type of education.

Educating human beings for life represents a complex, arduous and difficult job, due to the fact that nowadays, subjects find themselves in an increasingly complex, dynamic and changing society, which requires more prepared young people, with well-defined ideals, to respond to present and future challenges; that is why quantum postulates represent a brilliant option to develop interesting aspects on another type of epistemology-methodology to base new ways of thinking between teachers and students. The pedagogical practice is seen as a dynamic and complex action, where the teacher must take into account the totality of the human being, that is to say, his cognitive, social, emotional and physical structures. The brain is not a passive machine, there is an interconnection of neurons as with the particles of quantum mechanics; these organise thought and favour the adaptation of the individual to complex environments.

The process of representing physical properties in a reservoir model consists of understanding their distribution (facies, porosity, permeability, etc.) in an adequate way, this requires the application of a series of criteria and techniques that aim to make a reliable and understandable model based on geological concepts. The present work aims to analyze and apply all the steps required for a successful modeling, among which are data integration, facies representativeness, and application of the appropriate technique for stochastic modeling; this sequence is crucial for an optimal representation. The points taken into account are: Identify sedimentary features using seismic attributes (Coherence, RMS). Analyze electrical well logs in order to identify the vertical resolution of the model and understand the variation of properties around the wellbore. Correlate formation markers that indicate geologic time. Apply Sequential Indicator Simulation (SIS) and calculate facies distribution based on its spatial probability.

This work is a line of research that I have been investigating since I was an undergraduate. Learning difficulties become a question in the day-to-day life of a school. Many are the questions asked by those involved in the process of constructing meaningful learning: who is to blame when it doesn't happen? The school? The teacher? The family? What we do know is that everyone must be involved in the process.

Three years ago the National Autonomous University of Mexico through the Dr. Gustavo Baz Prada Chair awarded me a grant to undertake research on migrants in the municipality of Xilitla, a magical town in the Huasteca zone of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. At that time, I had conducted a review of the state of knowledge of migration in Central America, Mexico and the United States. The literature broadly mentioned that the migration phenomenon involved the adaptation of migrant flows in central areas due to their economy, but there were also indications that migrants assimilated the culture that received them, although the most critical works warned of a multicultural identity that the descendants of migrants selected no longer to adjust to the imponderables, but to transform and innovate their environment.

The book aims to relate themes such as identity, cultural representation and subjectivity as contexts for the creation of samba and its symbolism. It's important to note, so as not to avoid the obvious, that this work doesn't seek to resolve certain long-standing complaints about samba; after all, its solution would be in clear contradiction with itself. The purpose of the work is to ask questions about a cultural phenomenon that, as hard as they try to define it, stubbornly insists on reinventing itself.

The "product" in the title of this study could be replaced by "commodity", but it was kept for its double meaning: the meaning of fetishised commodity, according to Marx, which causes alienation and inscribes the senseless human search for the value of the product in capitalist society; and the meaning of product as the factor(s) that generate(s) the result expressed here in a social model that is an alternative to capitalism. According to Kehl, a more humane society is possible, as Marx imagines, in the knowledge that creation is no longer the same as it was yesterday, but is a combination and blend that is equally or more capable of creating another model of society.
