Almost half the world's population is threatened by malaria, which causes 100 million clinical cases and over two million deaths every year. The spread of drug resistance complicates the treatment of malaria, often necessitating the use of new drugs that are both costly and toxic. The seeds of Aristolochia elegans Mast are consumed by some nuns of the Congregation of the Oblates of the Assumption, in North Kivu and more precisely in Beni-Paida, to treat malaria. For the same reason, the Ugandan people take the seeds of this species in decoction form. We therefore thought it appropriate to ascertain the in vitro anti-plasmodial activity of these seeds, and to carry out a preliminary acute toxicity study to determine the LD50 of the active extract. Our results show that Aristolochie elegans Mast seeds are indeed active against plasmodium. 200µg/ml is the minimum inhibitory concentration for Ethyl Acetate and Methanolic extracts.

"Learning to learn" is the ability to persevere and commit to learning. For the learner, it is one of the keys to success, not only at school but also in daily life. As such, it is a key skill to be developed in order to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Educational technologies offer a major opportunity to develop the skill of learning to learn.In the digital age and in the context of learner-centered approaches, teachers need to adopt innovative practices to help their learners develop not only academic skills, but also behavioral competencies such as autonomy, self-confidence, motivation, etc.

Qualitative research that seeks to describe the experiences of internal migration of young university students to the Peruvian capital. It allows us to learn about the formation of their identity, their personal motivations and the influence of their family and social environment, which could favour their decision to migrate. It is also possible to discover the strategies that these young people can develop to adapt to a new environment and how important a support network can be.

Mettàtron was born in Puerto Belgrano (Argentina), in a middle class family, with the name of Roberto Guillermo F. Gomes. Currently there is inadequate disposal in riverbeds, streams and places not authorised by the Autonomous Municipal Government of Sacaba.This is due to the high growth rates of the construction sector in the last 10 years. Starting from a personal question about how we live, an analysis of current society is carried out, based on what is known as Karl Marx's 'Manuscripts of Economics and Philosophy', to explain the existence of capitalism and its dynamics from its very material causes in order, with all this, to try to understand what the current crisis of human society may consist of and to propose a possibility of overcoming this crisis or, at least, to propose some alternative or possibility for a humanly satisfactory life at the present time. Art is then presented, through its aesthetic power, as a paradigm of what constitutes a humanly satisfactory activity and life: it is proposed to take art as a critique and a key to the emancipation of human sensibility in capitalism.

This book aims to provide knowledge about the benefits that companies located in the department of Oruro have, so that this group can maintain and increase their purchasing power, obtaining reliable information that helps to understand and deepen the topic raised. Understanding that some companies are not aware of the benefits that they can get to have if they are located in this department, hoping to achieve the enactment of the current regulations by the National Tax Services (SIN).

The objective of this research work is to carry out a study on the means of proof and how evidence should be taken in those processes where the non-contractual liability of the State is established when the damage is caused by the failure to provide the health service. To this end, it is necessary to first delve into how the medical company is defined in Colombia and how the different types of liability are established, then we will establish how the liability of medical institutions in Colombia and the emergency service is regulated, followed by a study of those cases in which the health institution fails to fulfil its obligation to provide the service. Next, we will address those cases in which the health institution fails to comply with the obligation to provide the service and finally we will conclude by studying the procedural evidentiary regime of the liability of the tortfeasor in the face of a proven and presumed failure, ending with a brief jurisprudential exposition.

The aim of this paper is to learn about the history of intercultural bilingual radio in Zulia and from there to propose that the Bolivarian University of Venezuela sponsor its theoretical and practical reflection, given that it is located in an indigenous area (with the presence of five indigenous peoples: Añú, Bari, Yukpa, Japreria and Wayuu) and has a representative number of students and teachers belonging to the Wayuu people. In addition, a brief introduction to the Wayuu people, the Wayuunaiki language, the history of Radio in Venezuela, Zulia and the Venezuelan Guajira (ancestral territory of the Wayuu people) is presented. Venezuela is home to 34 indigenous peoples distributed in 10 states. According to the results of the Population and Housing Census conducted by the National Institute of Statistics in 2011, Venezuela is home to 725,128 indigenous people (2.7% of the total population).

After fourteen years of service in the Chancellery and a further fifteen years of exclusion from the affairs of the Republic of Florence, Nicolaus Machiavelli set about establishing a theory of ambition that developed according to the rules of a revolutionary method. This method, so demanding, selects and analyzes, arranges and places notions taken from the experience of his time and the history of the Ancients. This theory of ambition discards classical models and neglects the philosophers and theologians who strove to reconcile the art of governing men with rational ethics and the Gospel. Machiavelli's theory of ambition is concerned only with what relates to the public good and the preservation of the state. It is also nourished by historical substance and lived experience, based on an incessant confrontation of the present with the past.

In the context of the social function of the university, extension is one of the most recurrent themes at present due to the changes that are taking place globally in society, and which constitute an unquestionable reality that has come to transform and impact on the very essence of academic institutions. The conception of the university as a knowledge factory brings with it the reduction of its commitment to society and the conception that the market must govern the changes in the institution, while higher education is placed as the axis of the production and transformation of knowledge. From this perspective, its current function places it in a double and necessary reference point: as a cultural centre that raises, receives and channels the advances of science in all senses; and on the other hand, as an instance of foundation, practice and reflection of the evolution of society, in which extension plays a fundamental role.

The action, linkage and legality of government procurement, for local development and social economy effectors, has a legal and technical support, which positioned it among the most advanced legislations in these issues in Latin America, The characteristics of the legal functionality and its introduction within the regulatory decrees of state procurement (Decree No. 1023/01 and Decree No. 1030/16), gave it a legal support beyond the economic, adding a social function, especially for these sectors that are disadvantaged when competing against large companies in a microeconomic environment of disadvantage and vulnerability. The demands that arise within the system are reflected in the inverted pyramid, which applied to this case, could elucidate this need from the local level and translate it into a national environment. For this reason, this paper attempts to reflect the regulations, the need and its real application based on studies and experiences of state purchases.

Latin America is a territory highly vulnerable to climate change due to the socio-economic conditions of its population and the geological and natural diversity of its ecosystems. This book brings together the author's academic work to analyse the environmental crisis and the possibilities of approaching it from a Latin American perspective by inserting educational proposals on sustainability, well-being, local development, education in context and education for climate change. We live in a world in which security threats do not lie exclusively in conflicts between states, but in many ways go beyond the state vision and focus on a regional, heispheric or even global vision. Threats such as climate change, poverty, terrorism, transnational organised crime (and all its manifestations), among others, are elements that generate pressure on society and states directly. Based on the above, this text emphasises issues such as terrorism and drug trafficking, starting with two actors such as the FARC and Al Qaeda, which, through the phenomenon of convergence, join forces to achieve their objectives. All this in a space generated by the phenomenon of deviant globalisation, which brings together the interests of these groups to strengthen their local, regional and even global actions.

This research aims to carry out a jurisprudential analysis that will allow for a critical and proactive examination, with the aim of presenting alternative solutions that will make it possible, with a view to post-conflict, to somehow reduce the pre-existing situations of exclusion, stigmatisation and discrimination against women, especially where the armed conflict predominates. Conceptually re-signify all those elements that can help us to unequivocally point out the tools to be used at the moment of action, whether by the civilian population, the victims, the operator or the academic community. The research seeks to have a medium and long term impact on the visibility of gender violence and sexual violence in the context of the armed conflict, through the means proposed to publicise the results of the research, i.e. participation in events related to the subject, publication of the results, as well as publicising the information analysed to governmental and non-governmental entities and in the academic sphere.

Cameroon's forestry sector plays a very important role in the national economy, providing a range of economic, social and environmental functions. In order to manage this sector sustainably and involve indigenous populations, a balance must be found between development, poverty reduction and sustainable management of forest ecosystems. Cameroon's forestry law n°94/01 of 1994, the result of the implementation of recommendations from the Rio de Janeiro summit, provides for the involvement of Peasant Forest Committees (CPF).

At the same time, a new industrial revolution is beginning to emerge (Deep Digitalisation), which requires for its development, and due to the effects of the aforementioned changes, a new State that promotes a different Economic Policy and therefore a renewed Public Economy.

Local products are the result of a synergy between natural resources as raw materials and human know-how specific to each region and inherited from one generation to the next. Although these products are characterized by authenticity, originality and typicity, they remain relatively unknown and discreet among consumers, which means they need to be given greater visibility and promotion.In this sense, agri-food marketing is a proactive means of enhancing the appeal of these products, increasing their value and positioning them advantageously in the marketplace. The integration of agri-food marketing strategies helps to elevate these products to the status of preferred choices by highlighting the uniqueness of their offering, generating strong brand awareness and providing the opportunity to transcend the discretion of these regional treasures.By distinguishing themselves through their unique characteristics, terroir products can capture consumers' attention, establish a lasting connection and generate renewed interest.

Food safety refers to the presence of hazards associated with food at the time of consumption. As the introduction of food safety hazards can occur at any point in the food chain, adequate control throughout the entire chain is essential. Food safety is thus ensured through the combined efforts of all parties involved in the food chain. During the hazard analysis, the organization determines the strategy to be used to ensure hazard control by combining the Prerequisites (PPRs), Operational Prerequisites (OPRs) and the establishment of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system. All requirements are intended to be applied to all organizations in the food chain regardless of their size and complexity. This includes organizations directly or indirectly involved in one or more stages of the food chain. Organizations that are directly linked are feed producers, harvesters, farmers, ingredient producers, food manufacturers, etc.

In the current context of fiscal consolidation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and in line with thinking on the factors of growth in developing economies, it is appropriate to consider the role of public spending in achieving growth in the DRC.The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the "public expenditure component" of fiscal policy on economic growth in the DRC over the period 1985-2015.Empirical estimates show that external debt has no significant impact on Congolese economic growth, and that operating expenditure has a positive but insignificant impact on the country's wealth creation;Public investment expenditure has a positive impact, mainly in the long term, on economic growth, while corruption significantly undermines growth.

Autoimmune diseases face a chronic inflammatory challenge with systemic repercussions. One of these problems is carciovascular pathology with early onset in relation to the rest of the population not affected by these conditions. Therefore, the possible prediction of cardiovascular risk based on more specific variables of these disorders constitutes an indisputable support tool for clinical practice in this type of patient. The present work is evidence in this direction for patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
