History of English Music

Henry Davey was a noted scholar of Tudor music. He published this controversial History of English Music in 1895. The first scholarly book covering the full range of English musical achievements, it focuses mainly on the fifteenth to seventeenth centuries, which Davey regarded as the heyday of English music.
