Hospitaller Women in the Middle Ages

Presents a research on the sisters of the one of the largest military-religious orders, the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. This book explores the roles which they performed within their order. It also examines relations between the order and the patrons of its women's houses, and considers the career of a Hospitaller woman who became a saint.
