Über How Lucky We Are
In my 50+ years of flying, I have spent hours looking down on the earth from as high as 51,000 feet. I also observed the stars and our Milky Way galaxy. On autopilot, I've had many hours to think about how this all came to be, yet so many people take it for granted. At times, I could see the earth's curvature and think that this ball I'm flying over at 600 mph is hurling around the sun at 67,000 mph. Our solar system is going around our galaxy at 500,000 mph, with our planets, moon and sun in perfect relationship for our existence. Our bodies are a work of art and it took billions of years just for the universe to create the elements we're made of. I hope this will be a thought-provoking book to help children develop an appreciation for the Universe and our place in it.
