Individualitat im komischen Roman der Fruhen Neuzeit

The genre of the comic novel, which includes Charles Sorel's "Histoire comique de Francion", and Paul Scarron's "Roman comique, was extremely popular in 17th century France. This study examines the relations between individuality and comedy in these novels, and thus casts light on the early history of the novel and of the modern individual.
