Institutionalisation of NITs with their own legal personality

With the advent of Law No. 13.243/16, which amended the Innovation Law - Law 10.973 in force since 2004, NITs are authorised to assume their own legal personality. Differences in management and legal form can play an important role in the ability of the Technological Innovation Centre to offer adequate conditions to fulfil its purpose. The objective of this work was to identify which legal entities exist in the national legal system, compatible with the new legal provision, to score the advantages and disadvantages of each one and to suggest the best legal form to be adopted in NIT-Rio for the exercise of its activities.
