When a high school football star falls victim to a hit-and-run, reporter Ray Harper rushes to his aid to try and save his life. After the teenager's passing, Harper engages in an all-out pursuit for the driver who left him for dead in the middle of a busy suburban Detroit road.
When Harper's reporting gets too close for comfort, Plymouth Mayor Sadie Rodgers sets out to foil his investigation. Deceit, compassion, intimidation, and even murder are all just tools Sadie and her police chief lover use to keep her insatiable political ambitions alive.

But Ray Harper won't stop digging until the truth is uncovered. With the clock ticking on the demise of his newspaper and possibly his young journalism career, he must overcome every obstacle in his path.
