Lake Habitations and Pre-Historic Remains in the Turbaries and Marl-Beds of Northern and Central Italy

Bartolomeo Gastaldi (1818-79) abandoned a legal career to pursue his passion for geology, glaciology and palaeontology. This 1865 English translation by Charles Harcourt Chambers is of Gastaldi's illustrated 1862 publication, presenting accounts of human remains and artefacts discovered at Stone Age and Bronze Age settlements south of the Alps.
