Lillianvon Clarene Evans
Über Lillian

CLARENE EVANS grew up in the theater. Not as an actor. Not as a producer or a director. The theater was her babysitter. In the 1950's, Clarene's mom was the sole bread winner for her family and she worked long hours at Tom's Drugstore in Baldwyn, Ms. Following her supper break at home with her children, Mrs Evans walked them back to town and across the street from the drugstore to the Ritz Theater. There she paid a ¿ve cents admission each for Clarene and her brother Coleman, to see a movie while she worked until eight or nine o'clock. Thus began Clarene's love for words and story telling. Throughout the years she has written many short stories and extensively about the Civil War and for nine years she wrote a weekly two thousand word column for The Baldwyn News. While working numerous jobs and raising four children, Clarene was constantly writing LILLIAN, forming and re¿ning the characters until they literally appear alive on the pages. With LILLIAN is where she went each day. It was a life much di¿erent from her own. There she could breathe and just...be. Today Clarene lives in Saltillo, Ms. with her husband Carl and their little dog Savannah. God has gifted Clarene with much artistic ability. She enjoys painting, card making, and designing jewelry.Nothing though, brings Clarene pleasure as does accolades for LILLIAN.*Written by Linda Joy Gholston
