Dr. Kenneth D. Barringer spent three years in the US Navy during WWII. He was then ordained as a United Methodist minister and served in several locations. He also completed field service for the bishop of Iowa. His next position he held was that of serving on the staff of Morning Side College in Sioux City, Iowa, and then on the staff of the University of Iowa where he earned his PH. D., He then worked as a clinical psychologist at a group practice in Sheboygan, WI. Ken culminated his work years by retiring in Sun City Center, FL. In retirement, he continues to teach, volunteer, and be socially active. Dr. Barringer has published chapters in two books on adult education and was a contributor to a major family-focused magazine. He has published articles on various issues related to senior living. He has successfully headed a coalition on mental health and aging in his retirement community. His intention in writing this book is to help seniors everywhere find concrete ideas about responsible life choices for healthy senior living. His concern is that seniors are not well equipped to cope with the important task of aging, so he speaks to community groups and teaches at a senior college. His hope is that every senior who seeks it with good intentions and makes the right choices will enjoy and relish their golden years as never before. His dream is that seniors everywhere will explore the fascinating world of healthy aging and wellness together, and will enjoy every day of their retirement.
