Manual of British Vertebrate Animals

Widely respected by contemporaries, Leonard Jenyns (1800-93) combined clerical duties with keen research into the natural world around him. His 1835 manual catalogues five classes of British vertebrates - mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish - covering native, introduced and extinct species, with descriptions and information on location, diet and propagation.
