Masaryk's Democracy

During World War I, President Masaryk of Czechoslovakia created a policy of enlightened democracy that caught the attention of Europe and America. He saw clearly, however, that democracy must create for itself a spiritual discipline, that it must solve the problems of living, that it must present a unified outlook on existence.
