Über Midsummer Waltz
Anna Marie Lindquist is a vivacious second grade teacher and the youngest of three daughters of Harvey Lindquist, a small town Midwestern banker. Harvey is a controlling man and has told each of his daughters the type of man they should marry.
Anna Marie's two older sisters followed their father's edicts and married men of his choice, with both marriages ending unhappily. But Anna Marie has chosen her own path, falling in love with an artist and determined to marry him. Harvey secretly tries to stop the marriage, even threatening the preacher.
Midsummer Waltz is a love story about relationships between people who are good and bad, and about love trying to win out against all odds.
Author Ronald Bergerson set his story in west central Wisconsin, where he was raised. He is retired, now lives near Minneapolis and is at work on another novel.
