Sam and Erin were high school sweethearts. When Sam decided to join the Marine Corps in 2003, the trajectory of their lives was sealed. Sam ultimately sustained a severe traumatic brain injury, and the next thirteen years centered around Sam's survival.
Despite their tragedy, a young Sam and Erin made a promise to each other-a promise to never stop striving to be the best versions of themselves, to live life to the fullest, and to never give up hope.
