Of course, his wife Martha sees herself as Steen's discerning critic and then there's Professor Grundheim who seems to think it's his life purpose to inform Steen what a president should do and how to do it. Meanwhile, Steen is just trying to assume his new role and new identity without losing his mind!

This heartwarming, humorous tale reads like a journal from inside the mind of a young man beginning a challenging position of leadership over a 20 plus year period. He is regularly tested, challenged, criticized, and changed as he matures in his professional and personal life.
