Cassy was doomed to a lifetime of servitude on a barren planet, or so everyone told her.

Good thing she's a bad listener...

A daring escape introduces Cassy to the eclectic residents of Sector 3, including Pilot, a snarky AI with a mysterious past; Zipper Fanshee, a celebrity heartthrob; and Una, a beautiful, bookish runaway. Uniting them is their obsession with the galactically famous "Diomedes 100" endurance space race.

After a bit of light piracy, Cassy, Pilot, and Una find themselves in possession of a state-of-the-art racing ship just days before the start of the thrilling but deadly competition.

Their adventures will take them from a glitzy space station to a lavish party in a glowing bubble mansion to the heart of an unstable nebula. But more importantly, it will lead them to a plot that could cost thousands of innocent lives.

With help from her companions, Cassy learns that she may not only hold the key to winning a race, she may hold the key to winning a war.
