Reflections on the Mysterious Fate of Sir John Franklin

James Parsons, author of this 1857 work on the disappearance of Sir John Franklin's Arctic expedition, clearly had knowledge of naval practice, the seas and climate of the Arctic region, and the records of earlier expeditions. His account of the known facts concludes that there could now be no survivors.
