Reminiscences of the University, Town and County of Cambridge, from the Year 1780

Henry Gunning (1768-1854) was an official of the University of Cambridge for over sixty years. Published shortly after his death, this two-volume work gives an entertaining view of university life between 1784 and 1830. Volume 2 deals with town and gown affairs, including floods, disputed elections, censuses, and sermons.
