Rudimenta linguae umbricae et rudimenta linguae oscae

Between 1835 and 1839, the philologist Georg Friedrich Grotefend (1775-1853) published these analyses of the Umbrian and Oscan languages. Using inscriptions from buildings, tablets, coins and vessels, he attempts to reconstruct the grammar of these languages belonging to the Italic branch of the Indo-European family.
