Rural Rides in the Counties

In Rural Rides Cobbett (1763-1835), one of the most vocal champions of political reform in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Britain, describes the plight of the labouring classes. Published in serial form between 1822 and 1826, Rural Rides is an extensive social commentary on agrarian life in the early nineteenth century.
