Über Star Of Doom
Beyond the vast Transylvanian forests of Romania, hidden deep within undiscovered caves of the rugged Carpathian Mountains, are the homes of many of the oldest species of dragons on earth.
They have lived there thousands, some even millions of years.
The ancient Teacher of Dragons, Lumea Veche, and his eager young student, Tanarul, embark from their native Romania on a routine field trip to the greater world of Dragons. The two of them travel the globe, interviewing dozens of their family members, who relate classic dragon fables and legends from their own point of view. Along the way, however, they become aware that the humans who originally told the old tales have been destroying much more than their relatives' history.
The planet's delicate ecology is in shambles because of human neglect and interference. The polar ice caps are melting at an alarming rate. Then the dragons discover a threat unknown to any human. Beneath the ice caps, the hibernating Sea Dragon, Leviathan, has grown to the length of Ireland. Lumea, Tanarul, and the League of Dragons realize that the Sea Giant's stirring would cause tidal waves that could destroy the worlds of both humans and dragons. They also face the truth that the Dragons cannot solve the problem by themselves. To save the planet, a Dragon/Human Alliance must be formed.
In Book 3: Star of Doom, Tanarul and Lumea receive a call for help from a remote cave beneath the Kalahari Desert where they meet more legendary members of their family, including the dreaded French Tarasque, Humbaba from Babylon, the Kalihari's Great Rainbow Serpent, the English Jabberwok, and a psychic race of tiny dragons called the Clarevoys. They learn of a great danger located at the highest mountain on the Continent. Along with their brave companion, Viorica, they journey to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. There, a young African Dragon named Ayo describes the grave situation; one that could affect the safety and even the very survival of every Dragon on Earth.
