Über Stylistic Explorations and Literary Interpretations
Stylistics is the study of the ways in which meaning is created through language in literature. To this end, stylisticians use linguistic models, theories and frameworks as their analytical tools in order to describe and explain how and why a text works. The analysis typically focuses on the phonological, lexical, grammatical, semantic, pragmatic features of texts; to explore the role of Stylistics to interpret Literature scientifically. Being the linguistic approach to literature, the study centralizes the contribution enhanced by Formalism that regards the literary language as the sum total of all stylistic devices (sound, imagery, rhythm, syntax) that are interrelated to 'deform' ordinary language giving an 'estranging' or 'defamiliarizing' effect. Moreover, the study seeks to demonstrate a primary distinction between two basic components of narrative: narrative plot and narrative discourse. The current study is devoted to ¿the interface of language and literary studies¿. Within this rationale, the study sheds light on specific technical vocabulary that is typical of both linguistics and literature.
