The Anvil's Passion

On a quaint vacation to Egg Harbor, New Jersey, I discovered my grandfather's unmarked grave. Kick starting a grand effort to know who he was, I began a search of his life and my own. This mindful and heartfelt tale narrates that long walk. It is told looking from the front steps of the houses I have lived in. From crabbing with my dad and Joe in Connecticut or the night shift at the railroad in Philly, to love letters in Tennessee and chasing bats and launching kids in the Midwest. Through these many stops, I share the generous and interesting people I encountered. With an eye for the psychological, faith in the presence of God, and an appreciation for family and community, the trip will touch you in its humanity.
