Amala loves the sun, but she is High Priestess to the Goddess of the Moon.
A midwife, a priestess, a lover. Amala lives her days at the temple, caring for her Goddess and sharing her Love with the ones around her, when she discovers a murder which utterly destroys her. As Amala struggles with grief and guilt, she joins Hawk, the city's charismatic Captain, on the murder investigation. Together they witness a case with no leads become an intricate plot of lies, alibis, and schemes. But each thread uncovers more than they could have ever imagined, and Amala has her secrets, too.
