Über The Memory Of You
Two people had waited a lifetime to meet in their sunset years for what seemed like an act of providence, instead of a chance encounter. However, it took courage to repeat a 2nd time the vow, "I take thee to be my wedded spouse." In doing so, however, they accepted that the brevity of life that was once experienced thru the loss of a prior spouse, could and would happen a 2nd time.
As life would have it, once again a partner was lost thru the twinge of death. Yet, this time around, they learned how to love and gently let go. Upon the burial, however, the surviving spouse felt a warmth from relishing the good years they had together. As they lay a flower on the grave of their deceased loved one, the living spouse contemplated what could have been lost between the two of them had they not taken the step towards remarriage. Leaning in over the grave, you could hear the faint words being spoken, "I could live a lifetime off of the memory of you."
