Angel was a prized albino chimpanzee at Great Northwest Zoo... until the young chimp vanished from his habitat.

Nine-year-old Tanner Gibson loves the zoo. He loves to wander among the exhibits, watch the antics of the animals, and let the stress of school and chores fall away. As the zoo's Director, Tanner's father oversees all zoo exhibits and activities, so Tanner has grown up next door to all the incredible creatures his father protects.

When Angel's enclosure is empty one morning, and Tanner was the last person in the area, all eyes turn to the boy. If Tanner ever wants to be trusted again, he has to find Angel and show his father-and everyone at the zoo-that Tanner takes responsibility for the animals very, very seriously.
