The place of the veiled woman in the social field

The veil is a complex and highly publicized issue that is debated in the Western world. It may or may not be permitted in the school, sports and professional arenas. The author of this book focused on the issue of veiled women's involvement in social work. She wondered if the involvement of these women is limited by laws, guidelines or by employers' representations of the veil, the woman who wears it and Islam. Therefore, her goal was to discover and understand the reasons why an employer would consider hiring or not hiring a veiled woman and to open a dialogue that contributes to a mutual understanding. To do this, she interviewed four employers in the social work field.
