The Right to the Environment and Socio-environmental Conflicts

This book tries to generate a cognitive background about the alarming reality that the central Andean city of La Oroya is going through. This is the reason why the population of the area has high levels of contamination and intoxication in their bodies, not to mention the social problems such as the lack of work and economic instability. When Doe Run Peru was at its peak, it was the main means of subsistence in the locality, creating a kind of socio-economic dependence that has had a profound effect on the decline of commercial and labour activities of the population in general.
