The Simplicity of the Gospel

At its core, God’s message about the saving power of Christ and our ability to have a relationship with our creator is simplicity in itself. Yet over the generations, the church has built up a dense and complex lexicon of words and phrases we now use to discuss the Bible and other spiritual issues.
Anointed...hedges of protection...washed in the blood of the Lamb...communion...sanctification… These are just a few that long-term Christians find totally familiar, but can be baffling to others.
It can be daunting for new believers or those seeking the truth to be confronted by a bunch of overly complicated jargon or theological context. What good is the gospel message if it requires flipping through dictionaries or a thesaurus just to understand what’s being said?
