The Winter Adventure of Stanley the Cat is, in part, a true story. There was a little girl named Mary Leigh and Stanley was her cat. As far as Stanley having a friend Maximus Mouse, well that is where imagination takes off.

D. Ann Hollon was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, on a cold February morning. She currently resides in Keene, New Hampshire. This is her third children's book. The first, The Christmas Pony was published in 2012. The second book, The Adventures of Stanley the Cat was published in 2015.

Kathleen Shea Kirstein was born in Vermont and raised in Keene, New Hampshire. She currently lives in Troy, New Hampshire. This is the third children's book she has illustrated. The first was The Christmas Pony in 2012. The second was The Adventures of Stanley the Cat in 2015. The third is The Winter Adventures of Stanley the Cat.
